  • That's Right, I made a passable Octoberfest in only 4 days. I Fermented it with Omega lutra KVEIK at 68°f pseudo lager brewed on the BrewZilla gen 4. With pretty much every upgrade a homebrewer could want.

    I like the idea of stretching the legs on a beer to get a lower ABV. It reminds me of a buddy of mine who says the pot of today is too strong, he wants to got back to the simple pot of the 70's and 80's. I think if my beer moves around between 4% and 5% I am perfectly happy. As long as beer has been around there is no way I am going to reinvent it. Great Video. Thanks for doing it. Cheers.

      Not necessarily know, but if you want to know what the temperature of the mash and the malt pipe actually is and control the heating elements accordingly, it's the only
      way. I will definitely cover this thoroughly in the review 🍻

    Nicely done Bradley. A 4.5% ABV Oktoberfest beer will for sure help fight against the Sunday morning hangover! I take it that you adjusted the hops to keep the intended bitterness?

    • @PortlyGentleman
      @PortlyGentleman  10 месяцев назад

      It definitely will do that. Once I had the modified recipe in brewfather I decided that the hopping was fine for my taste.
      After the beer was finished I further verified it works for me 🍻
      One emission in the video I did a pretty elaborate mesh schedule, at least for myself. In an attempt to achieve a fuller body it actually worked a little better than I had thought it would.

    Cool vid. Glad your back at it! I’d love to get your perspective, I’m using a brewtools b40 now and am actually considering switching to a brewzilla 65 as I want to have a bigger volume and switch to 240, hard to argue with how affordable the brewzilla is and really I just want a simpler, faster, no fuss brewday and easier clean and immersion chilling. so I’d love to hear your perspective, could I still love it coming from a more premium system?

    • @PortlyGentleman
      @PortlyGentleman  10 месяцев назад +2

      That's a tricky one to answer. It depends on what exactly you like most about Brewtools.
      If it's the quality and extreme attention to detail. Don't get me wrong the BrewZilla is extremely good It's just not on the same level. You could easily switch your B40 to 240 volt as well as add an immersion chiller. The volume I suspect would be your limiting factor. It is quite possible to make a very simple BT set up. Having said that today the BrewZilla is the only other all in 1 brewing system I would consider.

    The whirlpool arm works great.
    How much water do you use with the steam condenser? I have been brewing outside for the last three years after I moved to five gallon and ten gallon all grain batches. Being able to brew in the garage would be awesome, especially during the pits of summer and the coldest parts of winter.
    I am looking forward to the mini tap review. Might just be the prefect solution for me.

    • @PortlyGentleman
      @PortlyGentleman  10 месяцев назад

      That's good to know. I definitely want to try one out. I exclusively use the condenser. I don't have ventilation in the new brewery. Largely because I realize after I got my first condenser ventilation wasn't really needed anymore. I personally think it's the only way to go.. If you're making RUclips videos it can make it a little less exciting, but well worth it.

    Hi, I have the same BrewZilla and I purchase the malt already grinded here in the local shop.
    But I never had so high flow during recirculation, usually I need to close a lot to not "get flooded" with the worth.
