The Chronicon and lore on the armor makes me not want to be Calus' shadow. It seems like a very sad life, even if we are the second to last living thing. It just seems wrong
Being the second to last living thing doesn't sound like an accomplishment, Calus wants us to do all this crap just so he can be the last living thing left to watch the universe die. Even if it is true that our victory over the Darkness is impossible, that doesn't make Calus the good guy. The splitting of the "Exodus Black" must refer to the fact that Failsafe has two personalities. The upbeat cheerful one and the dour depressed one. Failsafe gets two Exo bodies for both personalities and the depressed one would be nominated to become a Shadow. Then the good Failsafe would have reason to kill her other half. Honestly, love these videos and Byf for all the work he and his crew does. I don't know if he has an answer for this but I've always wondered, what determines who gets access to the Traveler's light? Not just that the Ghosts are sent to find people that they are linked to or whatever, but what limits the access to the light of the Traveler is asleep? My thought was that there may be a internal trial that measures the beings' willingness/potential to wield the light in a beneficial way to the Traveler. Consider that a rogue Fallen decides to form a house that doesn't fight to take the "Great Machine" but simply to preserve it. This is to the point where they don't attack guardians but respect them. (Similar to the ones that aided the Awoken or that one Fallen Captain that respectfully disengaged in that one mission in Titan. My point is, would it be possible for a Fallen who "proved" their loyalty to the Traveler through the Traveler's way instead of trying to control it, what would restrict that specific Fallen from getting access to the Light? And as a side note, this could also happen to the other races but Fallen seemed most likely to actually do it. And we know that access to the Light isn't given just due to similarity in species. If that were so, Mara Sov's Awoken would have more Light wielders. Right?

It would be cool to see Failsafe gain a body. Especially since she's essentially doomed if she remains on Nessus between the Leviathan eventually eating her, the Vex erasing her, or he Fallen ripping her up for scrap.
I thought the comment on failsafe being the first digital consciousness refers to her being an AI with her safeguards removed, possibly before the creation of the exo, letting her achieve proper sentience.
in regards to the lore, maybe we or “the darkness “ kills Calus, quite a lot of build up for his intentions of being the absolute last alive... would be great to see that ruined Another topic: imagine a dungeon that was procedural ( like infinite Forrest) but was like a cave system. The enemies in the beginning would be weak or a set power level, but as you progress, enemy formation and level becomes better. Certain rooms have bosses that reward loot and you can even clear the cave system by having some end goal objective or boss the 3 man fire team has to accomplish/defeat. Not related to the lore but having watching the gameplay, I wouldn’t mind an activity such as that 🤷🏻♂️
Maybe the two Fail and Safe/ Exodus Black and Failsafe the scribes refer to are the two halves of Failsafe's broken AI? The Joyful Flight Attendant and The Moody Teenager?
I love the video! I hope that you too are looking forward to the day when we can knock down Calus from his high seat and toss him at the feet of Cerberos. And i mean the real Calus not that mechanic joke. Keep up the good work!

We even defeated the vex mind, we are speaking with Toland and his soul to be in peace lol the lore is fanfictiony but the meat of the story is there. Truth is being told from a biased view with words warped and changed but it's still there.
I AM NOT GOING TO KILL FAILSAFE, AND I WILL DESTROY ANYONE OR ANYTHING THAT TRIES. Now that's out of my system, i like this new lore Byf. Thank you for being our lore master.
Just a point... the entry doesn't state that the Shadow "went to the Vex first". It states that the Shadow "went to the FIRST Vex". Which makes more sense with the results being what this entry suggests. :)
One thing I hope this leads to is that we get failsafe a body or he'll failsafe 0 and failstop 0 both being separate if thats even possible id love to get failsafw off that rock
Hey Byf! On an off topic, while I was playing the Menagerie I had Calus say something interesting. "One of my vex minds is working on an Algorithm that will erase your Guardians light!..... It won't be done for awhile now." Doesn't this mean Calus has a hand in the death of Saint-14? Off topic.. But still interesting. Anyway, loving the videos man
@@TheLasombra077 Because the Vex from the infinite forest had an Algorithm that erased saint-14's light. That means that the Vex mind that stole saint-14's lights and the Vex Calus has is the same Vex. Remember saying "that hasn't happened yet, or that already happened" doesn't apply to the Vex. Time Travel and all that.
Wait.... I thought we killed Ir Yut and her twin Ir Aluk in the Kingsfall raid. They’re the last encounter before Oryx in what is his Ascended Throne realm right?
Byf, we kill ir yut in crotas end but in that mission in the taken king where we return, looking at the spot where crotas crystal was placed in crotas end, there are 2 ir yuts. So Idk if ir yut is alive or not
If the shadow of the hive ever does come into existence, maybe it will control the hive by the same way as the mindbender did, but would have similar strength to hive gods and have an ascendant realm like them
Undoing the Deathsong, hmmm? After we get all the moon-haunting nonsense done with, I'd definitely search for Ir Yut's soul. Calus might be nuts, but that sounds like an idea with merit
Huh. Failsafe's two personalities being separated and being put into Exo bodies intrigues me. Could be something in her story that way (maybe involve the Siva cargo she supposedly carried).
I have a question, in the menagerie calus says that he wants us to live on the leviathan, but he than says that we may never return to the dreaming city Can someone explain?
Wait what if the shadow keep raid is killing Quria as it is a vex place in a hive expansion and it would explain why the portal to the black garden is on the moon and also why the nightmares are like the taken but weirdly different as I’m pretty sure it’s stated that quria can “take” things but it never specified the means of her “taking things”
Have we tried to flip all the things in the chronicom? I mean if we think about it, the whole chronicom is based on the universe slowly crumbling to nothing So then if we reverse all the things in in the chronicom it might just be the the exact future more or less Just reverse the endings of each chronicom event to a more possitive outlook and it actually tells a story of what has in fact already happened

Another topic: imagine a dungeon that was procedural ( like infinite Forrest) but was like a cave system.
Byf giving all these Psion Fanfic all the seriousness and brevity it doesn't deserve.
Great vid keep it up byf
Oh hey another byf vid...Nice
When you think about it we did enlighten the queen, Petra did join us, we did help remove the many reflections of Osiris. We even defeated the vex mind, we are speaking with Toland and his soul to be in peace lol the lore is fanfictiony but the meat of the story is there. Truth is being told from a biased view with words warped and changed but it's still there.
The guardian: creates an impossible maths question
The vex: dies
I AM NOT GOING TO KILL FAILSAFE, AND I WILL DESTROY ANYONE OR ANYTHING THAT TRIES. Now that's out of my system, i like this new lore Byf. Thank you for being our lore master.
Could failsafe even become an exo? Because they were all actual people and never an ai
Don't even know if she could be 'uploaded' into a mobile body... or even if that would be a good idea given her quirkiness.
i can not wait for him to get to the zavala entry it is AMAZING!
Just a point... the entry doesn't state that the Shadow "went to the Vex first". It states that the Shadow "went to the FIRST Vex". Which makes more sense with the results being what this entry suggests. :)
Calus’ fan fiction: the series
One thing I hope this leads to is that we get failsafe a body or he'll failsafe 0 and failstop 0 both being separate if thats even possible id love to get failsafw off that rock
If failsafe dies I'm be-heading calus
*CONGRAT for the 700k* :)
I love how bungie can make even fanfiction work as lore and make it so believable.
This fanfic by that Calus guy is wild.
As if I'd ever kill Failsafe, I love that crazy space AI.
Hey Byf!
On an off topic, while I was playing the Menagerie I had Calus say something interesting.
"One of my vex minds is working on an Algorithm that will erase your Guardians light!..... It won't be done for awhile now."
Doesn't this mean Calus has a hand in the death of Saint-14?
Off topic.. But still interesting.
Anyway, loving the videos man
@@TheLasombra077
Because the Vex from the infinite forest had an Algorithm that erased saint-14's light.
That means that the Vex mind that stole saint-14's lights and the Vex Calus has is the same Vex.
Remember saying "that hasn't happened yet, or that already happened" doesn't apply to the Vex.
Time Travel and all that.
Looks like somebody in Bungie has read some SCP Foundation posts...
Love ur lore vids man keep up the amazing ass work!
Wait.... I thought we killed Ir Yut and her twin Ir Aluk in the Kingsfall raid. They’re the last encounter before Oryx in what is his Ascended Throne realm right?
Elgin Louden Ir Halak and Ir Anuk were in no way related to Ir Yût.
Dennon Belk thanks.
Byf, we kill ir yut in crotas end but in that mission in the taken king where we return, looking at the spot where crotas crystal was placed in crotas end, there are 2 ir yuts. So Idk if ir yut is alive or not
Maybe ir yut and the reversed death song is the antagonist of shadowkeep and therefore there is a bunch of revived badies
I'm positive the Chronicon is nothing more than Calus's own personal fanfic he's been working on about us.
Huh. Failsafe's two personalities being separated and being put into Exo bodies intrigues me. Could be something in her story that way (maybe involve the Siva cargo she supposedly carried).
I have a question, in the menagerie calus says that he wants us to live on the leviathan, but he than says that we may never return to the dreaming city
Can someone explain?
Best lore vid on yt
I love how the chronicon seems like Calus's fan fiction
Eris, Shadow of the Hive
Is there any mention of the drifter in the Chronicon?
Wait what if the shadow keep raid is killing Quria as it is a vex place in a hive expansion and it would explain why the portal to the black garden is on the moon and also why the nightmares are like the taken but weirdly different as I’m pretty sure it’s stated that quria can “take” things but it never specified the means of her “taking things”
I like to call these entries and the armor lores, "Calus Fan Fiction"
The Chronicon... Calus's personal slash-fanfic about us.
10:48 ok what if the shadow of earth is an exo?
Have we tried to flip all the things in the chronicom?
I mean if we think about it, the whole chronicom is based on the universe slowly crumbling to nothing
So then if we reverse all the things in in the chronicom it might just be the the exact future more or less
Just reverse the endings of each chronicom event to a more possitive outlook and it actually tells a story of what has in fact already happened
Shipal is basically the D2 equivalent of an undergrad research assistant.
