My Dad is her Dad’s age and I just can’t imagine her father was impressed by this interview. When I told my Dad that this man said he was the catch, the prize, over Simone he was appalled and disgusted, saying, “He said what? He said “HE” was the catch?” He was dumbfounded. The incredulous look on my Dad’s face said it all.

From my experience, even with her achievements, she would be too masculine or urban (she is very pretty however) for rich men or white men (which I think is who people want her to be with).

I'm into basketball but not gymnastics. Gabby Douglas was phenomenal and all over headlines, so I know of her. Same goes for track, but I now know of Shacarri Richardson. I didn't know who Simone Biles was until last year. Again, YES, it's possible.

I don’t think it’s an issue that he said he was a catch, talk your sh*t, whatever, but I think the thing that bothered people is he didn’t say how she is also a catch (at least in what we’ve seen). By saying he is “THE” catch and him not mentioning that Simone is also a catch, makes it seem like he doesn’t appreciate her which I’m sure isn’t true but it rubbed people the wrong way. He came off a little arrogant but also could be the editing and also he could have been nervous.
They’re cute together and they’re always smiling together so let’s be happy for them. If there are lessons to be learned, let them learn it on their own.
