I recently used a colourtune to help me do a basic set up to get my fuel injected engine running when I rebuilt the fuel injection system and fitted a different ECU.. They’re pretty much foolproof.

Also non-resister plugs are usually a good performance improvement. Find your plug type without the R in it

Most spark plugs are metric because they were invented in France. And champion was producing them in France ( metric ) and because of patents it was just easier to tap metric threads and use metric plugs. Henry Ford used 1/2” pipe threads because he wanted his automobiles 100% American and he had the money to buy manufacturing rights. I think that’s how the chat around the campfire, with a few beers went. Feel free to correct me, I’m old and a bit senile!

    (carb tune)
any engine I can put in ...but what happens ta color on bad fuel? Too high octane? Quick start?
    Just thought I'd ask,before I get one..
    Again, THANX

Great kit for tuning. Worked well on my M151 as well. I think my spark plugs are going to last much longer. Has anyone used this to watch combustion while adjusting the plug gap?

I recall these being advertised in the mid-1980s J.C. Whitney catalogs. You didn't see them in the local parts stores, so I assumed that they didn't work as well as claimed.

Have you seen the version that looks like a regular spark plug but the insulator is clear quartz?
The whole plug lights up with the glow of the flame.
You cant see into the cylinder but its a lot easier to use.

I noticed the 3 “head bolts” (nuts) in video frame have wrench marks (paint missing) from being torqued on. You might want to touch those up on otherwise flawless restore! P.S. Thanks for video- never knew about colortune before this! 🙂

    • @-oiiio-3993
      @-oiiio-3993 3 года назад

I wouldn't call those marks a 'flaw' as they likely indicate the very thing you've described which would be a common field maintenance procedure.
