Cup of Coffee Preventive Maintenance - Willys Jeep

Preventative maintenance is good to do on your toys wether its 2 wheels or 4... And in the time it takes to have a cup of tea or coffee you can check/inspect quite a few things...

True about that sort of stuff but I wanted a classic bike that starts on the button 1st time every time at 5am for work!

@@Coastriderscotland Hehe, what I'm remembering is when I paused on my bike ride many many decades back. I stopped in traffic behind a classic BMC Mini, and noticed it's uneven engine sound, and the woman had difficulty pulling away from stationary. I signalled to her to pull over and said I thought I could help her. I knew the engine timing was out, and I had the right size 3/8" spanner in my pocket. I popped the bonnet and loosened the pinch bolt on her distributor, twisted it a little. Got her to start it up. Even rougher than before. While it was running I twisted the dizzy the other way past the first position and the engine smoothed out. Nipped the bolt back up and got her to restart it. Started really easy! I suggested she see her local mechanic to get the spark timing checked as soon as poss. I said I didn't need any payment, but she insisted and gave me a whole multi "pack" of cigarettes. I passed 'em on to my old man.
