I remember in my early days on a motorbike (1983 on a brand new MZ TS125 (look at Mr Moneybags here😏!)) I followed the haar from Kinross 20 miles to the sea at Leven. It was amazing how sharp the cut-off was from haar to early spring sunshine. Weather-wise the tourists just have to take their chances with the rest of us. It was a beautiful sunny day on the far north coast today but I doubt the NC500 folk had much sight of the wide open landscapes at the weekend due to low cloud/rain. Today I could easily see 50 miles in brilliant sunshine😍👍.
In my younger days, when I was living in Wallsend-on-Tyne, this phenomenon kept the first month of the long summer of 1976 cool where I was but, about 2 miles further inland (just past Jesmond Dene), there were clear blue skies and glorious sunshine.
We have similar here along the coast of the Northumberland Strait. Typically burns off by mid morning. 😎 Reminds me of The Hounds of the Baskervilles in Dartmoor UK 😉 Cheers 🥃
Warhorse is purring alone.😊 Yeah had glorious sunshine last Saturday, all day, then after coming over the A93 from Perth/Dunkeld……we Came over the hill from Banchory to Stonehaven. Stonehaven was Haar bound😂😂😂. Stonehaven to Newtonhill, and was dripping wet😂.
Thats the weird thing about the sea haar here frank is often it is not wet like when Mist/fog and it is warm as clear skies about it and usually a lovely day a few miles inland! 😁👍

It is weird how inland is glorious while the coast is fog bound! 🧐😜👍
