The A1 through Northumberland and the Scottish Borders is a highway to Hell, especially at rush hour, good move to avoid it. You chose a lovely route through a beautiful bit of country.
I heard that the Dundee dealer was shutting, I did not realise the Edinburgh one was gone as well ! That presumably just leaves the unofficial dealer in Elgin ! RE should now allow any bike shop to act as service agents to support their customers. I agree with you about Hitchcocks prices. The mark-up over Indian prices seems a bit much to me.
Another lovely ride out Bruce. Two great looking bikes in their army livery. You are wise to ease off on the winter rides to work. So many unpredictable hazards on the roads you ride. You mentioned 🦌. I was talking to a car driver a few days ago who's cars front wing totally smashed in. A deer ran right into the side of his car. Obviously different outcome if a deer collides with a bike. You have nothing to prove so use the car and stay warm and safe whilst travelling to work. Still plenty of winter riding in the daylight on dry roads. Looking forward to your next videos. 👍
Supposed to have a run to Powmill tomorrow am 9 am meet at Tay bridge. Very cold today 7 degree. So sod that! Lovely roads Bruce. Hopefully I can come down next year and join you on a run to borders 😊 Love that Classic in front. I hear there is new colours for the Classic 350 with LED lights / indicators.😊😊. New dealer in Perth for RE. Sorry to hear about Saltire😢
Morning Bruce, cracking ride that one! On the commuting to work in winter I did the same the last couple of winters before I retired, I used my car , it's too dark and greasey on the roads to be dueling on the roundabouts with impatient car drivers, and as you say we've nothing to prove! Cheers Mel 🍻
Hi Mel, was a nice run as it always is down to the Borders 😁 i think the days out in winter at weekends will be more fun as be itching to get out! 😜😁👍👍
Maybe not your cuppa tea, but the 650 classic is what I have been waiting for. Keen to see it arrive in Australia. Be safe over winter. Cheers for the videos.
Another great wee video Bruce,Hopefully we will get another dealer in the area for RE, I used to enjoy a visit to Saltire .That is an excellent little road you were on down to the Borders, been on it many a time. Take care and ride safe.
Thank you Thomas, i am sure something will happen for another dealership for RE Always a good day out when you go a run down the Scottish Borders! 😁👍🏴 Cheers Bruce
Beware early morning drivers definitely. I've seen someone careering around a bend nearly head on into a car coming the other way on his correct side of the road at 6 am. I've also nearly been taken out on a push bike in the same manner at a similar time of day. People think they're the only ones on the road at that time. Despite the fact that when they get to work no doubt there are indeed other people there who have also driven to work!
Hi Bruce great to watch you again, not had much time myself of late, just doing different things, I agree I don’t ride at night anymore as 69 now and it’s just not safe, iam a semi fair weather day light rider, been busy tidying up a 350 bullet I have 2007 year, and keeping my hunter very clean, going to do the camshaft next on hunter, I have the camshaft but just need to fit it, yes the colours of autumn are creeping in especially where iam south Lake District, lovely looking at what to occupy my self with over the winter, I have plenty of things in reserve, thanks for the vid let us know which boots you choose I use ex army see what you come up with, take care NW biker dude alias bay Bimbler
Good to hear from you again Ted and Autumn is certainly early, i have a list of jobs to do this winter at weekends the weather is not nice and of course we have the dog to walk so be out looking for stuff etc 😁 Army boots prob be my choice too😜👍👍👍
Hi Bruce, Quick one for you, Where did you get your wax jacket from? I remember seeing in one of your videos last year but cant find it now. Keep up the vids, brilliant.
Hi John, i bought my coat from Speedwear UK, great value but small as mist clothes are typically these days and i ordered a 2XL as the 1XL fitted but i wanted to wear a fleece under it in winter 😁👍
I agree about buying from India do the same myself often surprised at how quick things arrive. Just wondering. The lead bike seems to use a toot of the horn when approaching cyclists. What reaction does this get? Here in the English lakes they would see that as provocation and get all hot and bothered about it.
@@Dozeyish The correct term for a horn is advance audible warning device. I know it's a mouthful. But Bruce's mate was definitely using it correctly and showing good advanced driving skills. You are right about cyclists, some can get a bit agitated. Everyone needs to read the Highway code from time to time and the roads would be a lot safer .
Glentress and the mountain biking scene has kept Innerleithen buoyant :)
Certainly brings in a lot of income to the Vally! 😁👍
Absolutely right about the car drivers in the morning, your doing the right thing, take it easy👍
Safer in the car with some good tunes playing 👍😁
Thanks for this ride out Bruce, so many memories from years ago. The B709, down into Innerleithen. The Leithen Water's run into the River Tweed.
Glad you enjoyed it i need to take the Jeep down to my friends before winter proper sets in to let him see it and deft be going down on this road! 😁😉

Hi, i meant to say the old A1 - now the A199 west of East Linton Village which goes over Pencraig hill and on ytowards Haddington 😁

AMR in Glasgow are a RE dealer
Not looking good for Enfield owners requiring servicing/warranty work, or potential new purchasers of the brand, not good times for all shops!

The bike will prove popular for sure, i would like a 450/500 J series single Classic 😁👍👍
@@Coastriderscotland Himalayan Tools do a 500 big bore kit for the 350 (about £400-£500 I think). Maybe put that on your spare engine?

Just been getting my thermals out, might take a run down to Peebles & Innerleithen tomorrow. Good stuff Bruce.
Its cool in the mornings now, deft time for the thermals! 😜👍
DexShell \ Sealskinz socks for winter. Shame about Saltire, no many bike dealers in the Edinburgh area now.
Hi Smokey i still have my seal skinz socks, and Army Goretex boot liners i used to wear with MX boots, sad tomes for motorcycle shops!
2 degrees on my way to work one morning this week. insulation is now in my biking clothes lol.
Getting cold early this year! 😜🤣
Absolute T@@Ts..... classic 😂.
😜😁👍👍
