    I remember putting an extended slide lock lever in mine and never had to take the gun completely apart. I just pushed down on the spring and slid out the old one and held down on the spring and slid in the new one. Just make sure you are careful when releasing the spring to keep it from shooting across the room.

    After having problems with the slide lock on my Gen 5, I installed the extended version from The Glock Store. I never had a problem with a Gen 2 or my S&W SW9VE. The smaller one had a tendency to push in on one side. THANK YOU! No problems since.

    Way back when I used to have to work on a camera or two. To prevent losing tiny pieces we used a large clear ZipLock bag. That may be worth trying. Not a 100% guarantee, but it helps. Nice video.

    @geofftimm2291 8 месяцев назад +2

    You went to a lot of trouble. I put the lower in a padded vise, pushed down on the spring from the top, slid out the old one. GENTLY released the spring. I took a thin punch, came in from the side and out the other side and pressed down on the coil spring. Then I slid the new piece in and slid the punch out and Bob's yer Uncle! Geoff Who remembers Jerry Pournelle, even if he was a dedicated revolver man.

    Lenny, thanks for the video. I bought both a slide lock and slide stop from GS to put on the G26 Gen 5 I bought from GS a couple of months ago. I can tell you that these two parts you manufacture make ALL THE DIFFERENCE IN THE WORLD in how this gun breaks down and in the ease of releasing the slide stop. Wow. Impressive. It's like a have a newer new gun now. Thanks a million Len. 👍

    Another crystal clear and infomative video. Thanks! I love how you explain the details of what each part does.
    One thing I would like to see a video on; my father has weakened muscles, and sometimes has a limp wrist malfunction on his Glock 17 Gen5 9mm. How do I minimize this problem? I heard a claim that making the frame heavier and the slide lighter would help. Is this correct? Would your tungsten guide rod count as making the frame heavier? Do you sell a lighter slide? And how do the six different spring strengths of your your tungsten guide rod fit in?. Are some springs better for avoiding the limp wrist problem? Also I heard that hotter rounds with more recoil are better for avoiding limp wrist malfunctions. Is this true? Would the Glock 34 Gen5 9mm be less prone to having this problem?

    Probably the first and only issue I had with my G45, mainly due to my big fingers. I found a TRAPEZOIDAL slide lock lever which works perfectly! This design is very similar, but I think this is a tad too large overall. The one I got does the same, but because it's not cut square on the ends, it doesn't "intrude" into the area around the contours of the frame.
    Great vid Lenny! Keep 'em coming brother!

    Lenny, Thank you so much for going slow enough, showing close ups and clearly explaning the details of dissasembling and removing the firing pin
    and associated small parts. I watched three other videos on the same subject before watching yours. The other guys demonstrations were confusing, without close ups and they seemed to be trying to show how fast they could speed through it while juggling/flipping the slide nonstop.
    I also appreciate your instructions on what NOT to do-to avoid small parts springing away and problems in reassembly. -Every point you make is clearly explained, demonstrated and easy for us students of Glock to understand.
    The MaGill/Glockstore video instruction on slide dissasembly/firing pin removal is the best! Thanks again and best regards from the Smoky Mtns. of NC.

    What is the item number and cost of the takedown lever?
    By the way I have a Glock 17 Gen 5 that I recently was able to put a little over a 1000 rounds through, and it did great. No malfunctions, trigger for me was crisp, no sponginess from my stand point. Only thing that I was dealing with was right hand shooting would go high and left, even when I was aiming low and right, even to the point I was aimed at the wall of the shooting range that I was next too.
    Yet with left hand it would hit center right, and I was taking my time, going back and forth with both hands, because even though I am right handed, I do have problems with old injuries, that makes my right hand go num when I hold my hand in the same position to long. Although from my stand point it is wonderful to know that I can shoot with either hand.

Since the gen 3 there's really no difference not enough for me to go spend another 600-800$ it's called money they want to make money rather then waisting money on the gen 5 spend your money on ammo mags training my gen 3 17 is still trucking after over 18k rounds same parts from the factory just now replaced the recoil spring
