Absolute lifesaver. I had a bonehead moment where I put the slide back on without the barrel or recoil spring (I don't know what I was thinking) and I quickly realized I was in a pickle. The slide wouldn't come off the lower. I googled Glock Gen 5 disassembly and this popped up, and now I know how to take apart the firing pin and safety. Thanks for the help and knowledge! Now I feel a lot more confident in my ability to fully take apart my Glock. And I did it all with a tiny flathead screwdriver.

Things were crazy in CA when I got out of the Navy in San Pedro in 1968. Glad to see nothing has changed and next generations of crazies have taken over leadership of the state. The Gen 4 Glock 17 is one of my favorite sidearms used for LEOSA qualification and range fun.

I really appreciate you taking the time to run these tutorials, as I find them extremely helpful. One suggestion though. May I suggest making two videos? One like this one, an extended version where you spend a lot,ore time explaining all the aspects of each piece and part, how they come together, how the parts work, etc. And the other, an edited version for those of us who are actually disassembling and reassembling along with you. I spend a lot of time forward advancing these videos in 10 second incrimenrs, simply because when we're reassembling we're trying to complete the project. The backstory to each part, the new barrels crowning, the cost of each part, etc. All of these stories tend to make the assembling and reassembling process a little more confusing. Not that the back stories aren't interesting, the small changes from generation to generation, the overnight shipping costs on small inexpensive parts that get lost easily and are expensive to have shipped overnight. Just a thought. If you edited each process, the disassembly and reassembly, slowly but steadily, you could condense both processes down into 5 minutes for each, editing down a nearly one hour video into a very helpful and to the point, 10 minute video. Just a thought.

Use tungsten disulfide (Ws2)! Dry powder, slipperiest thing on the planet, sheds carbon, bonds to metal by rubbing it on, doesn't attract dirt, doesn't come off, withstands 100,000 lbs. of force, eliminates wear. I run my guns dry with NO problems or signs of wear. Better than oil (oil attracts dirt) but if you are worried of what I say, Ws2 also blends well with oil and can be used together. I've been using it in my car's engine oil for 12 years and the engine is like brand new (no wear!!). Nasa uses Tungsten disulfide (Ws2) on the Mars rover. Great for guns! I use a short bristle 1/4 in. paint brush and a q tip to rub it on.

Hello Sir, I just bought a second hand Glock 19 gen 3. When I pull the trigger back and push the gun forward and backwards, I am not hearing the tink of the firing pin or rattling noise. However multiple times I have cleaned the gun by myself and I am sure inside the slid is free of oil, however when I purchased, it was oiled and dirty.
Is it necessary to hear the tink or rattle sound for all the Glock pistols when we move or shake the gun forwards and backwards?!
In another word, is it mandatory to hear the sound? I mean if we didn't hear the rattling sound from a clean glock, does it means something wrong?
If it is necessary, then what is the problem of my Glock?
FYI, I didn't test and fired yet, but I checked by putting a pen inside the barrel and pull back the trigger, then the pen moved. I mean it looks the gun functioning well!
I have heard, maybe inside the gun has not been cut well while manufacturing but it is fine and not make issue! Is it possible?!

I am unable to remove slide on glock 23. Trigger is not stuck. Gunsmith had removed the plate on back pulled the striker out. He said he had to 'reposition' the recoil spring/slide rod. I guess he had to use a long, slender tool to do so. Anyway, he was able to release the slide and even did a couple times. When I arrived home I was unable to remove the slide - I have disassembled and clean this gun MANY times. I am unsure how this recoil spring gets out of position.

We can have any firearm and any mag capacity. And we just passed the stand your ground law. I think it's upsurd that only LEO's can own Gen 4 and Gen 5 Glocks but not the public. The new sig has a trigger/frame pack that a sccy pistol has, lol. I have a gen1 .40, has different markings gots like an eagle on it. Guys at local gunshop said it's very rare Highly collectable. Also have g1 & g2 17. I think all glocks has slide stop ware Guess because of it sets on it all the time & slides against the holster. Great video sir

Thanks for vidéo! I didn’t understand if extractor needs to be lubricated or needs to work dry as fire pin. Anyone knows? Thanks

Does anyone notice that the firing pin floats around when you pull the trigger or when the slide is in the locked position? Is it because of the new plunger design? My gen 3 30 SF doesn't do that.

Robert Penn Kansas is also 2nd amendment friendly. You can open carry you don't need a license to conceal and Colleges can't stop you from carrying on campus anymore. Only private businesses can enforce no gun rules. Love Kansas

I live in Rio Verde. It is east of Scottsdale, absolutely beautiful and great people. It is an undiscovered and underpriced area in my opinion.

Is the channel liner different from a g17 and a g22? Or can I disassemble a g22 slide and reassemble it in a stripped g17 slide? I wanna run a custom slide on my g22.

My gen 5 blue label G23 extractor spring plastic bit is black not white. Bought this new. Could this be an issue that needs correcting

If having a recessed crown was that important for accuracy, why didn’t Glock do this beginning with the Gen 1 guns?

As a brand new shooter this was really helpful. And, of course I just had my first squib after only 35 rounds. I still have to deal with that, but at least I now know how to put the slide back together after the parts went flying!
