This is part of our ongoing contribution towards the development of robotics and automation skills for Cambodian students in technology and innovation. History and Overview of ABU Robocon
ABU Robocon extended the concept from NHK Robocon which started in 1991 and restricted to team from Japan only. The ABU Robocon (Asia-Pacific Robot Contest) is founded in 2002 by Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union. In each year, ABU Robocon has designed a theme which put more emphasis on technology, designing and making robot perform complicated maneuvers, which require teams to be more creative on designing robots. From 2017 until now, the Robot contest in Cambodia is divided into two-part, local contest (country contest which usually takes place in the 4th week of June) and international contest (Asia-Pacific Robot Contest which usually takes place in the 4th week of August). After winning the first place in the local contest, the winning team has to represent their nation to attend the international contest with others 18 countries from Asia Pacific region, including China, Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Hong Kong, India, Vietnam, and so on.
