Huge is obviously by far the most successful of these three, given their runner-up finish last season. And yet... Mammoth absolutely swatted them, because it was the perfect counter-design. That's the beauty of robot combat. It's a giant game of rock paper scissors, with everything weak against something. Sometimes, you just have to trust in the luck of the draw.
For me, Mammoth was constructed for that one fight with Huge, which, as you stated, it won. It's good to see some different designs. Chomp is a fantastic piece of engineering, but, sadly, not very competitive.
I think that's largely because of the limitations imposed in this competition on weight and attack methods. If explosives were on the table the dynamic would change drastically.
@uwemattiss880 Because the rules of Battlebots are written in a way that favors this particular design. Allow entanglement and you will see, who will be winning. The show wants some boom to be entertaining, which is why its rules lean toward spinners.
yes, but most of them don't work. stomp is useless trash .. it looks cool tho, i give them that, but looks don't win fights. huge in other hand .. they have come a long way from clown-bot to competitive level
Fun fact: while Chomp looks slow in the footage, its top speed has apparently been described as "brisk jogging pace". Imagine that 200 kg monster chasing you down a hallway.
If Chomp were to come back, I hope they ditch the AI tracking software, as it seems to make them misfire at times, but I'd understand if they don't because it's... kind of their thing, but being a full on walker instead of a shuffler like say... Dreadbot from Season 3.0 to 5.0, which is still one of my favourite shufflers to this date, the fact that all the legs of Chomp were individually articulated and powered by compressed gas means it's one of the few true walkers that actually worked and won a fight which is incredible. HUGE is... well, HUGE. Big wheels, big weapon, big ol' eyes- wait, that's just aesthetics... Either way, their latest run, getting to Runner Up was a phenomenal leap and bound from their previous season, but seeing Bronco run away from them was hilarious... but also kinda sad, especially when it's combat robotics, not "Oh no, run away" robotics... I get trying to preserve the bot, but you could've done a lot more to combat a bot like that, lol. And Mammoth is essentially a daddy long legs that'd swat you if you tried to swat it. Seeing it knock out Axe Backwards like that reminded me of how it knocked HUGE out in a similar way, it's a really unique bot that shows you don't really need a blade spinning at the same tip speed and inertia of a 50 cal. to cause absolute havoc.
One small but advanced way to make the robot a legend from my point of view is that, if a team can develop an IR frequency detector and changing machine which the benefit is that, the way you transmit the signal in an increased or decreased manner from a signal transmitting antena from the robot, the opponent robot signals will get distracted which will make it easy to defeat it. All tha very best teams.
Huge's simple design gives it it's best defense: it hits you from the top and it's weakest point is higher up. But it's wheels aren't durable and with heavier hits can break them. Reminded me of Gabriel from Robot Wars when I first saw Huge. Except huge actually does damage and isn't driven by kids.
lol! Me, thinking: "Ok, they gotta feature Mammoth ... and they'll likely show Mammoth taking a W, right? But .. who did Mammoth ever convincingly beat? Did it ever fight Ghost Raptor? Or Axe Ba... ah, yeah, of course they beat Axe Backwards."
I never understood Chomp and what they were trying to achieve. The bot rarely won. Had some great technology on a very slow and lumbering bot with slow outdated weaponry that made the tech pointless. Then they rebuilt and redesigned it and made it even slower. I don't recall it ever winning. It may have once or twice but can you remember?
its amazing that very few are smart enough to attach the wheels of huge and stop it that way, i have seen it work many times when done right, flippers against it are a joke
Is fire really a good weapon in battlebots ? Will it cause damage with how wide the flame is and the short durations it has to burn ? I've always wondered
Only a few bots were successful with it, you have to grapple alongside the fire like Complete Control. Higher temperature flames works too, but are much more difficult to run. Gruff is an example of the latter and his KOs look awesome.
Those Hammer and Axe bots are pretty much useless heavy-blade spinners like Tombstone and drum spinners like Yeti are the way to go IMO flippers are pretty decent long as the other bot can't flip itself back over.
I don't get why Chomp was around that long. It has been a loser amlost every time. And not even an entertaining one. Fiddling with high-tech sensors made everything worse. Zoe Stephenson imho is as bad a builder and captain as Lisa Winter was with that insult of a robot, Megatento. She once said that the litte disc on that thing was a "powerful weapon". Those really were embarassing times. I'm so glad Bunny Sauriol and Anna Zolnikov showed up to rescue women's reputation.

Its the weapon
@@robertpearce8394and yet, it beat a bot no one else has (toaster Chomp that is)

@astecheee1519 can't exactly do that safely, in an indoor arena, with an audience.
I like these bots, because they represent a nice, fresh alternative to the same old vertical/horizontal spinner/lawnmover design.
But the spinners always won!

Mammoth is an underrated robot in my opinion. It’s always fun to watch, whether it’s throwing other robots or throwing itself around the arena
Mammoth is my favorite piece of scaffolding
Mammoth is my favorite "budget bot" 😂 never been dull moment when mammoth roams in arena 🦣🦣🦣
mammoth and huge are lame
Huge is one of the best in battlebots. Mammoth I do like but it’s not really good enough. 😂
@@hptrg404086 just rewatch season 2022 and tell me again if HUGE it's lame.
Fun fact: while Chomp looks slow in the footage, its top speed has apparently been described as "brisk jogging pace". Imagine that 200 kg monster chasing you down a hallway.
Even worst: a 200kg monster chasing you and carrying a hammer that can break your ankles like butter.
Brisk jogging pace under what conditions? Off a 200ft cliff in free fall? :P
@@anthonyng3014it likely just can't accelerate to its top speed in the confines of the arena.
@@TheSuperPlayer707 And flamethrowers that can melt your ankles into butter
Nice 😅
I do missed Chomp though, I wish it came back in the future.
I always loved chomp. This was pretty cool to see it turn in to.
I hope it comes back as the 500lb walker again, that thing was crazy
I just love to see any kind of walker/shuffler. Kinda wish chomp had a more destructive weapon though to really put it's weight to use.
RUclips at 4am "Wanna see killer roombas fight to the death?"
Me: Sure
I like these unique Bots!
I want to see more of Chomp.
Crawler like chomp is something I wanna see in the future
They should make battlebots where the bots are the size of ATVs and golf Carts.
Then the army would use them
We need a Nokia team.

Bronco and tombstone fight was my fav
I love huge.
Huge is very destructive, it's interesting to watch, how he ripping apart his opponents 😸
Mammoth's OOTA win vs Axe Backwards... maaaan what a time. I miss OOTA ko's. Bring them back. And get rid of the shelf lol.
LOL. Total carnage. Love this stuff!
Im 34yo and i should go sleep instead watch robot like i was 12yo
There's nothing bad bro
Just don't let that kid in you die(until it's about curiosity and passion)
Age is just a number bro
I'm turning 50, mate.. and I hope to watch bots fighting bots before sleeping for many more years 😊
I am 54 😊
Same but 37yo 😂🤝🏻
Huge hss gone from whipping boy to serious contenders.
A real show of evolution.
Very impressive engineering here 👍
Chomp is an ABSOLUTE UNIT
Amazing battles!
Me encanta lo que hicieron con Huge 🤩

Awesome Bots!!!
Really like Mammoth, its like scaffolding coming alive.
Cant wait to see android fighting!
Nice!
Nightmare & Deep Six not quite big enough, eh?
with a better arena, with more space between the edge and the protective audience walls, Mammoth would be incredible
Heckin' yea, Kenny!!
Sad eyes Huge. He has a personality.
the hijinx vs chomp fight just makes me sad. all that intricate engineering just shredded... but i guess that's just battlebots for ya

Сколько времени должно пройти что бы поняли огонь неэффективный
1:34 Huge: _Bruh... too easy._
The hammer on chomp was actually the only useful hammer, because chomp had the necessary weight to make that hammer work
My favorit minotaur and hydra😂
In BattleBots 2019
YES!😄
In BattleBots 2020
Maybe its just convergent design but Huge reminds me of the WW1 Tsar Tank
In BattleBots 2022
Could we have the full episodes back please? 😢

Huge is the British robot Gabriel but with a spinner instead of an axe.
All fun and games until Earthmover THR-1000 appears
Better than wwe

Now the smallest robot
Do you guys remember chomp in 2018?
Nobody goes for the wheels, I would
These big bots look more like Da Vinci war machines
Hydra top =))
The thumbnail is a tad off
what if there was someone who made a tungsten battlebot that when you try to throw, it breaks your flipper.
Top no. WIDEST bot. In battlebots?
💯❤️
Robot has minigun or M134 gatling
When ork gargant
These fights are not so long in the first place, why do they need to cut these clips so heavily?
can't you just make a small tank shooting 12 gauge slugs, would be way more effective in battle bot
You do realize that the tip speed on most spinners is actually in the range of bullets right?
