    i didnt end up including synthwave or nu-disco as both genres were created around the early/mid 2000's (though both are obviously based on retro aesthetics/genres) so if you want a separate video on either let me know !!

    it felt like watching an "evolution of music" video but it's all kpop from the 10s-20s. i love it

    I feel like some Wonder Girls songs would've fit here, they really committed to their retro influences. And BTOB's Wow, to me, is the quintessential kpop New Jack Swing song. But other than that, great video!

    Hi, I would like to know if GWSN's Black Hole fits into the Sophisti-pop or not?

    • @yangyangdni
      @yangyangdni  Год назад +1

      sorry for the late reply 😓 black hole by gwsn is actually hip hop soul !! another genre created around the same time as new jack swing, some other songs with the same genre include impurities by lesserafim and automatic by red velvet

    I thought Lucky Girl was more doo wop.

    • @yangyangdni
      @yangyangdni  Год назад

      i mean (at least with my understanding) pop soul can kinda be categorised into two types, the doo wop influenced pop soul and the contemporary r&b pop soul. so songs like hiccups and lucky girl are doo wop/pop soul rather than JUST pop soul.. hope that makes sense
