Also just wanted to say that I love your videos so much, I always learn so much about music and find amazing songs!! I’m pretty sure I found Yukika through you and just so many wonderful bsides that got me to stan groups I otherwise wouldn’t have noticed from how oversaturated the kpop industry is. Tysm for your hard work and I’m sending lots of love!!
I'm not sure if it's City Pop but I think Kang Suzie's Violet Fragrance is like Korea's version of Plastic Love by Mariya Takeuchi. *Both iconic and highly regarded bops!* 💐
Me too!!! I like seeing people talk about things that they are passionate/know a lot about. It gives me a sense of awe of how passionate they are about something considering I'm not passionate about anything lmao
“it’s basically just a lot of bass and wub-wub-wub synths" BAHAHAHA i love your descriptions!!! ALSO, your taste in music literally outsold! loved the video
I have said this on twt before but I genuinely appreciate how this channel is actually mostly about music, that definitely makes it stand out amongst so many other that are all about “teas” and shading wtv is trendy atm for views, and it also introduced me to so many bops (caffeine especially like that was a GEM I probably would never have found on my own)
yes omg!! these videos are so informative and interesting to watch because it’s factual and fun instead of just “unpopular opinions” and trashing other groups like every other ktuber
if you like this channel i would definitely recommend you check out JHTCxKPOP , they do have a few opinion videos but the vast majority of their content is music-focused such as playlists, favorites, monthly top picks etc :)
You just go with the vibe the song gives, and also instruments that come into play For example if you feel like a song is perfect for a night out, it's city pop, if it has disco vibes, it's disco and so on

this is probably an unpopular opinion but 'oh! my mistake' is probably one of the best kpop songs i've heard in a long time. its a song that makes you feel nostalgic and the synth is so addicting!
Your taste is golden! As someone who’s in love with retro music and anything that’s inspired by it, I was so happy to see synthpop and citypop in your video
Yes but that’s pretty much every K-pop group or at least most It’s what makes K-pop groups more unique than for example most western artists because they experiment more
You know that feeling when you watch a movie that's set in the far future and it's like nostalgia, but for the future? That's the feeling I get when I listen to future bass
Already starting out with F(x)'s All Night and EXO's Lucky One the taste 👌🏻 I also like most of these genres! Some aren't my favorite, but it really depends on how the song uses those specific sounds I guess? Nice vid 👍🏻
I just wanted to say that your genre videos have gotten me really interested in the different distinct genres beyond just edm, retro, etc. and now I really want to someday learn more about the music!
i'd say it leans more towards city pop, probably because it's a cover of an actual 80's song by the group light&salt :) i usually don't like city pop that much, but txt gave it a subtle r'n'b flare and made it sound so dreamy, it's actually become my favorite song on the album and imo one of the best releases of 2020 !
everyone always says sm only focuses on visual but honestly they have such diverse and retro music types in their songs i never skip an album from an sm artist
Hi! I just want you to know that when i feel sad or down, watching your videos really makes me feel better. I love music and your videos are like a chocolate box of music that's full of new sounds i love discovering.Thank you for making these!

Thanks for making this video!! I love a lot of the genres you mentioned so this video is helpful for song recs and learning more about music genres! ❣️
I notice now that SM groups are probably the most experimental with the diverse musical genres. I know that they now mostly collaborate with foreign composers and producers and that adds to their diversity. However, it seems that they always were like that. I heard that Shinee were the ones who brought house into kpop. Correct me if i'm wrong. Also, i love that they incorporate retro/disco, rnb and 80s/90s pop in to many of their songs. TVXQ, Super Junior, Shinee, F(x), Exo, red velvet and NCT(their style is more modern, but they are one of the most experimental groups out there) have really grown on me now that i have stopped thinking that BTS is the best kpop group ever. I'm more drawn to the second generation for the time being.
I love your channel and I swear we have the same taste in everything. You even like super underrated songs that are my ultimate songs, including The Chaser by Infinite! I can give more examples just by watching all your videos. I’m glad I found someone like you ahhaha
