You could mount your mic up higher if you use a Cat 6e extension cable. Then tuck any excess between the seat and the center console. I had to do that when I mounted my UHF VHF Ham radio under my front seat.
I had thought about that but ended up deciding that I would like it hidden. It actually worked out well for me. I like where it is and usually just put it next to me if I'm using it. That's for the feedback.
Its a Victory 4x4 bed rack. I like the rack but had some issues with the install... Feel free to check out the video. ruclips.net/video/Dbvvf0AVtFM/видео.html
You can pick up weather info but nothing for traffic. To be honest more people us ham radios I find but it's far easier to legally use gmrs radios and keep yourself out of trouble.
@@offroadicon I’m going with a glass mount am/fm antenna and using an old cb until the new cb’s with FM start rolling out in Jan 22. I pull an rv so it’s nice to have communications with other drivers up ahead! 😃
Oh man, what a cliff hanger. No ending, no power on and use.... C'mon man, way to leave us hangin'. Okay, part two, I'm in.
It works great... The location worked out perfectly

Couldn't you just zip tie it under the seat
Definitely could but mine has been in place ever since this video and never had an issue.
What is your bed rack?

How do you like that antenna and what type of range are you getting with it?
I like the antenna size a lot. But have not done a range test I'm hoping next week I can give it a shot
Does anyone talk on these things? Can you get traffic info.. etc like a cb? I want to add a radio in my bighorn just not sure if I want cb or grms

Nice. I have goals to get my ham license this coming year. Figured doesn't hurt to have the skill.
I use mine for road conditions. You just have to pick it up and ask or relay what you see.
What is the mount above your center console screen?
It is a Bayou Goat Mount bayougoatmounts.com/ . Works good but with it was a little larger.
