This is literally the best version of this song I have ever heard my entire life. It has the feeling of patriotism and moving forward but also it has the sound of older orchestras. It also has a slight feel of nostalgia for something you never necessarily knew. Goddammit, this might even be the best orchestral composition ever. WONDERFUL job.
This remix reminds of of the music they play during a professional fireworks show. Makes me want to cook hotdogs and look at the colors in the night sky.
This started off as a meme, and has ascended to something that should be the end song of World War II. May yee rest in peace, Merlin. _Known unto god._
If you've never been to a West Virginia football game we play this after every win. The sensation of thousands of mountaineers all singing this at night at Milan Pushkar is just unbelievable
'Almost heaven, West Virginia Blue Ridge Mountains, Shenandoah River Life is old there, older than the trees Younger than the mountains, blowing like a breeze Country roads, take me home To the place I belong West Virginia, mountain mama Take me home, country roads All my memories gather round her Miner's lady, stranger to blue water Dark and dusty, painted on the sky Misty taste of moonshine, teardrop in my eye Country roads, take me home To the place I belong West Virginia, mountain mama Take me home, country roads I hear her voice, in the morning hour she calls me The radio reminds me of my home far away And driving down the road I get a feeling That I should have been home yesterday, yesterday Country roads, take me home To the place I belong West Virginia, mountain mama Take me home, country roads Country roads, take me home To the place I belong West Virginia, mountain mama Take me home, country roads Take me home, down country roads Take me home, down country roads'
As a native of West Virginia , I always like remakes of this song , and as a band kid , I really like this lol . So many of my friends online from across the pond know this song too , it’s a very “home” feeling song , even to those who have never been here .
In case you wanted to sing along and don't know the lyrics. [Verse 1] Almost heaven, West Virginia Blue Ridge Mountains, Shenandoah River Life is old there, older than the trees Younger than the mountains, growing like a breeze [Chorus] Country roads, take me home To the place I belong West Virginia, mountain mamma Take me home, country roads [Verse 2] All my memories gather 'round her Miner's lady, stranger to blue water Dark and dusty, painted on the sky Misty taste of moonshine, teardrops in my eyes [Chorus] Country roads, take me home To the place I belong West Virginia, mountain mamma Take me home, country roads [Bridge] I hear her voice in the morning hour she calls me The radio reminds me of my home far away Driving down the road I get a feeling That I should have been home yesterday, yesterday [Chorus] Country roads, take me home To the place I belong West Virginia, mountain mamma Take me home, country roads Country roads, take me home To the place I belong West Virginia, mountain mamma Take me home, country roads [Outro] Take me home, (Down) country roads Take me home, (Down) country roads
Just wish you added the second verse after the bridge, I think that's what he did. I still made myself remember this whole song! Nice to have this in case I mess up.
This puts me in my personal heaven. Dawn in a dull grassland with a spectacular view of the rising sun. Old dirt roads around me with dark etched names on rotten wooden signs that point to Heaven, Hell and Earth. Apple trees and pines in the distance and in the heart of my Paradise; a garden with white trellises and plants from all around the world and the tree of knowledge in the center. An old, black vertical piano in a tall, rustic house with electric light. My personal heaven.
I as a Violinist and Fiddler, do is think this as a pretty cool concept. I play Take me Home, Country Roads as a more Bluegrass Piece with the Appalachian spin to it. I spent the last three years of my life in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina and climbed and hiked in those mountains as well. I found a lot of inspiration music wise out there, and this does bring a lot of that too life. If Country Roads were to be a Classical Piece, this is how I think most would envision it. I take my hat off for your Arrangement.
I saw colonials building their homes, soldiers marching over hills and through valleys, young boys running barefoot through fields and floating down streams, the expansion west with the wind sweeping plains, cowboys moving cattle, a campfire’s sparks going into the stars, the first snow on a cabin where a child is born, and the Stars and Stripes flying high in a sunset. This music is absolutely beautiful
You're the last one to play Fallout 76. Everyone else has left. To commemorate the fun times you had playing alone or with friends, you take one last stroll through the Appalachian landscape, taking in the views and looking at all the places you discovered. Then, when you reach the Top of the World, then radio starts playing Country Roads. And you remember. You didn't play 76 because you wanted to do something. You enjoyed it. Then, as the song stops playing, you take one long, lasting glance at the mountains and exit the game. Now, whether or not you did for good, that remains to be seen. Because war... War never changes.
This song is one of the greatest pieces of music that exits on this planet, you my genius friend, turned this great piece in a masterpiece, searching for anything equal.
I am not from virginia, or america for that matter, but this reminds me of the day I was discharged from the army. :) I got my papers and hopped on board a train going through the scandinavian countryside. It was a warm day in july, and the train was empty. I felt tired, felt some sort of emptiness inside. After all this time, having a duty to fulfill and being a part of a group, I was suddenly alone... But it was okay, because I was coming home. :) So I imagine this as the theme song when that train rolls through the forests and plains of my country.
WOW.... I came across this video by chance & what a BEAUTIFUL rendition!!! It brought tears to my eyes. GOOD JOB & THANK YOU for posting this video!!! :-)

Greetings, Reader. I tried making the lyrics of this modified, longer version. At the end, I was not sure if it was good or not! Played it through, indented, and made some other changes. I decided not to label the verses and stuff because I am not a person who knows about music! Consequently, the result of putting this in was this which is followed right after these several paragraphs I am typing out. It took a bit of effort for something someone would probably not want to read, but I spent my time doing something worthless. Anyways, thank you for reading. It does not benefit me in any way, but I still want to appreciate the fact that you are reading this. Again, it might not be completely accurate. I memorized the song without this modified part, so I am also using it to help me memorize the song and sing to it.
