  • The Sound Off traces it's roots to the Roman Legions who would parade before the citizens before going forth to battle. The three sound off chords represent the three cheers given to inspire the troops. The 191st Army Band lead by SSG Conrad Myers salutes the formation in Fort Hood, Texas ending in three cheers.

Hope they have survived cut backs in Army Bands. I served with the 433rd & 36th Army Bands, and the 4th ID HHC & BAND in Vietnam, 1968-1971.

Haven't heard a Sound Off before without a chant. Made a nice change with just the instruments, and of course they still marched in time. Well done military

Looks to be Fort Hood, Texas. Our son-in-law was the C.O. of an AH-64 Aviation Support Company of the 1st CAV. He and his troops deployed to Taji, Iraq shortly after he took over the company.

There are two ways to get into the 191st Army Reserve Band as a piper. First you must audition on pipes, then if you are already in the Army you can transfer in. If you are not in the Army then you will have to audition on a different instrument or join with a different job and then transfer in.

I would really love a job opportunity like this & grow as a musician, i can sight read & play pipe band drumming here in South Africa..🇿🇦. I love performing, learning & competing... No criminal record, no kids, just looking for a corps home to survive & play music. 🙏🏼 Im inspired by Jeff Prosperie & Mark Reilly of the Fife & Drum Corps

Sharp drum major - I liked that a lot. I wonder who it was.

The bagpipers are playing "Wha Saw the 42nd", a tune strongly associated with the Black Watch, 3rd Battalion, Royal Regiment of Scotland (3SCOTS).

Go to the far right side of the front ranks, the man left of the farthest right is our Middle School Band teacher. 😂
