By Act of Congress US bands can have bagpipes.
Btw i like the 3x drum beat or usually called as Music Starter. This commonly practice in British military band and the Commonwealth army band. Well, where is bagpipe, there will be the 3x drum beat music starter
The 4th is the ivy Division-one of the oldest in the army. A regular division pre-WWII.
Maybe we can see them at the parade.
Army guy here 1966 thru 1969 519th M.P. Battalion. Company B , Platoon leader. Anyone served in the 519Th?
During WW2 I was captured by the Japanese. I was forced to listen to bagpipes until I told the secret plans.

The army's drum major use signals distantly defended from the French army-lots of spins and flourishes for any given signal.
The spins and extra stuff aren't commands. Just random movements. The commands are 100% by the book movements. Everything else is fluff

Bagpipes need more nice.
This is the first time that I have ever seen an Army band in action. Alignment was horrible, and I know being outside at a hangar area makes the sound on that tiny camera be poop.
I was thrown by the awkwardness of the drum major commands. There was too much hand motions and detracted from the band...IMO.
Actually all the Military Drum Majors use Hand Motions. This makes it easier for the musicians to concentrate on the music. Look at the British Military Bands and Bands of most other military services World Wide and you will find this common ways of moving the BAND AND THE TROOPS FOLLOWING THEM. This is not HS or College Marching.
