    These would make great gifts for what every season that you want them for based on the fabric choice. Another way of doing the binding instead of the stitch in the ditch is to choose a decorative stitch and speciality thread to add another layer of decorative texture. I most definitely would suggest either using a serger or overcast stitch for those inside seams for a more finished look, while giving longer durability of those edges of fabric and batting.

    If you hadn’t caught the binding on the back in a small spot, say under an inch, would you hand sew or rip out and start over?

    • @ShabbyFabrics
      @ShabbyFabrics  4 года назад +1

      I would first try to stitch over the spot again and see if I can catch it the second time. If all else fails, I get out a needle and hand stitch that spot. - Tammy

    My apologies for asking, but I cannot see how you get the binding on the second side to stay closed if you "don't" sew it???
    You say to "Not" touch the binding while you sew the second side???
    I'm confused. Please explain.

      Thank you for watching! This binding technique is just like machine stitching binding onto a quilt. When the binding is folded over, it needs to be far enough over that when stitching in the ditch, the needle and thread will go through the other side effectively closing the binding. ~Leah

      Еlle Vik - очень легко можно высчитать размер, остановите ролик на 4,58 минуте - 1 клетка равна 1 дюйму т.е. 2,54 см, общая длина выкройки бутылки равна 78 см, ширина 21 , посередине сделайте поуже ( это тоже можно легко рассчитать), не бойтесь, проявите смекалку ну и т.д.

      @@user-yi9ck4uf5o спасибо. Я так примерно и подумала. Еще вот нюанс для размышления -не всю деталь обрабатывают косой бейкой или хотя бы обметали внутри. Как думаете?

      @@ellevik6320 здравствуйте, я тоже об этом думала, но боюсь что внутри получиться небольшая толщина, хотя если взять для кос. бейки тонкую ткань все получиться , но я края обработаю оверлоком не буду заморачиваться.
