Lovely sounds, thank you for such nice tunes, I was after a synth that is independent from MIDI control for electronic music production and this hits the spot!!
I love my DS. I've got the 76 key one, big enough for splits when you need multiple sounds without switching. Synth action keys feel great. I love playing it.
2:59 that has to be my favorite melody sample throughout this whole video. It's so catchy and fast-paced, just how I like it 😊 I'm back and 5:00 got that Justin Timberlake - My Love type beat and I'M HERE FOR IT
Can I ask a question about the Juno DS ,61 synth. Can I make up and or record my own patterns on the Juno DS synth or I have to use the Juno rhythm patterns? See, I like to make up my own patterns and my own rhythms .
You mean MX? Roland seems to have a bit more clarity to me, it has a 8 bar looping sequencer, it has full size keys (MX has 95% widt keys or so?), Possibly an easier UI, can handle more FX, more control over the sound, you can play your own samples chromatically or long audio files from usb stick, Roland shares loads of extra instruments online. I'm leaning towards Roland. Korg Kross 2 has even more feautures, but everything is hidden in 10 layers of menu's. Both the Roland and Yamaha sound about equally good, better than Korg IMO. And I'm a big Korg fan.
OttoNL hi, yes, sorry, I meant the MX. In the end I decided on the Roland. The 76 key option is what clinched it for me. So far, I'm very happy with it, there's some great sounds in there and I've already made a couple of recodings that I like. It's really great value for money!
does anybody notice the stark difference between a hard bright sound and a soft dark sound at 0:15? I guess they all do this as it is digital, too bad they can blend that more.
if you intend to eventually play on an actual acoustic or want to be switching back and forth between the Juno and an acoustic, you may prefer the Juno-DS88.
I've recently joined a band, after years of only needing to use a Stage Piano live, so am looking for something along the lines of Ye Olde Alesis, Qs8 in order to easily create and store layers and splits that I can call upon at the press of a button? Does any such thing exist now? The Alesis was amazing, but *way* too heavy now! 😉
Freaking awesome keyboard! the last time I played "for money"....was in the 90's playing a Roland JV-1000...life took me a different path with success in the finance world...still played at home...but now that I am showing my 6 year old...and at 40 years old....I just ordered this toy DS88...arriving in Oct 27th, 2020. Can't wait to plug it to that new Tascam DP-03SD that has been collecting dust for so many years...Cheers!
Tom O Dwyer. I was disappointed with the sound of the Juno 61 through the keyboard amps and studio monitors at the music store and ended up getting an Electro Voice ZLX 12 powered speaker which has 2 inputs and and a mixer. I don't need 2 speakers for stereo because I use it like a keyboard amp. Sounds good through EV if you mess around with the mixer.
Once mixed down multiple tracks usually sounds worse than one stereo track. Another thing, once switched to performance mode individual patches looses effects presets available in patch mode and could sound like a bit of quality was lost.
It’s the exact same in every way except that it’s got 88 Keys and they Keys are weighted instead of the synth type Keys. But no sound difference or anything else
the quality differences really are the dynamics, as one offers fully weighted keys (the 88) and the others don't. Same sound engine. Same ram, same rom, same IO. Synths = 2 parts: The synth itself, then the midi controller its attached to, and not every synth gets a midi controller attached to them.
I think he's on to something. I have had my Juno for less than a month, and the piano sounds don't sound neatly as good as here. I have $200 Edifier speakers, but it doesn't sound as good on headphones either. I have tried everything from adding more chorus/reverb to adding more resonance, changing filter cutoff, using the super layer feature, etc, and it still sounds a bit muddy and not nearly as clear and crisp as on this demo.
Ivan have you tried eq ing it? If you hit the function key till it moves to the bottom row, the default function of the knobs is eq. A little tweak can make a big difference to the sound.
Thank you so much, Music Islife. I did what you wrote about and noticed that if I set the low frequency gain to something like +4dB and the mid-freq gain at 2000Hz and 5000Hz to about +3dB and +4dB, respectively, the grand piano preset starts sounding so much livelier. I also went into the effects edit for the grand piano patch and increased the reverb amount from 40+ to 70+. I saved this as a user preset and like it so much better now. Shame that the EQ settings can't be saved along with the preset data, but at least these knobs are so easy to twiddle/change. Now, if there only was some sort of a keyboard-wide MONO/POLY setting on the Juno so that I wouldn't have to change all these synth presets from mono to poly, that would be so much nicer. I get it that some synth leads are meant to be played monophonic with portamento, but I think Roland made too many of them like that, making the synth category the least usable of them all on this keyboard. I am just putting all this out there because I really struggled whether to buy the Juno DS or Korg Kross 2. And I am still unsure if I made the right decision or not.
Ivan no problem, I'm glad you got that figured out :) You will probably find you will have to adjust the eq for each different situation you are in, I.e, playing alone, different monitors, playing with a band, in different rooms or on different stages etc. every situation sounds a little different, so I find I adjust the ex a lot. I'm with you on the buying decision though. It's a good board for the money but I get frustrated with it. I play a lot of organ sounds in my band and I think I should have got something with drawbars and I find navigating the Juno a nightmare. It's not the most intuitive thing to use :/
Whoever this is playing is incredible. This kind of playing is what I’d wanted on any other demo I’ve looked for of this synth.
This guy really likes his E flat. EDITED: watching you play is very educational!
That’s the soul key
I felt a shiver going through me when I heard the Pure EP. Wonderful sound and this man has got great talent!
he plays the lick at 4:46
Am I the only one who loves the first 24 secs the most?
Nah, I like that part the most too..sounds so soulful. The one after that isn't too bad either.
basically the whole beginning for me
Its got some real factory stock nostalgic sound in it no matter the style. Im hooked now...
Awesome skills
Dude… This is the best demo video I have ever seen! Thank you so much so helpful
Really great sound quality and excellent playing. The Juno DS seems to be a very good value. Thanks.
Best sound at 25 sec. No doubt one of the best keyboard I have heard.
I’ve just gone and bought this keyboard on the strength of that sound alone
Lovely sounds, thank you for such nice tunes, I was after a synth that is independent from MIDI control for electronic music production and this hits the spot!!
At last! Someone who can actually do a decent demo of this thing 😍
I like how he doesn’t play all the patches like a piano. Adjusts to each sound.
2:59 Wow! I wish I could play piano/keyboard like this. Good job!
Bro, Do you know how he recorded the sound from the keyboard? Is he recorded it in daw software?
@@ivanferdinand3671 by 6.3 jack, no midi input. i got the 88 version and i know the back of the keyboard: there's no midi cable plugged. so..

🤙 Love the JUNO-DS. perfect for guitar player noodling around in my home studio. Have it midi’d up to JD-08 and JX-08 sound modules. Pure Heaven
Oh my god. That piano is sweet.
5:27 Epic Goosebumps. From another world. The way of playing perfectly matches the sound. Very musical.
Everybody! Try the 146: Physcho Sax - Brass channel, go down 2 octaves, sounds like the new horror movie sound!

Great sounds /demo. Thanks Roland/Gear 4
I have to say - that was a great demo and I totally loved all sounds !
2:09 sold me on this keyboard. This is what I start my piano/keyboard journey with

Having a hard time deciding on the roland Go keys, VR09, jv30 and juno ds 61. which one has the best hammond sound. Can't remember which one has the
roland juno ds61 is nice
Sounds pretty nice.
I am trying to find the Sound KY501 Fantasia JV but when we go through the sounds KY sounds only go up to 201.
What are the comparisons DS61 vs Juno-Di ?
better acoustic sounds on the DS, and that's mostly it, though, for live use, you can't go wrong with the Di
Excellent Demo and amazing sounds 👍🏼
What’s that first tune? Sounds amazing!
Any name for whatever he's playing in the beginning or is it an improv?
Sounds like that ‘people get ready, there’s a train coming’ gospel song
What was the pattern used during the first two selection? So nice!
If you want great tones, roll with Roland.
Does this have a good hammond b3 sound like Gregg rolie from Santana
Make an 88 Key Synth Touch version of it...... I'll buy it.
Roland FA-08, better version :P
Juno DS88 🤷♂️
@@marius-9333 only the 61 has synth keys. The keys on the others are overly stiff piano style keys.

Want to know how to play that piece, sounds 🔥
Ears and eyes are your best friends
Can someone tell me if he is using a sustain foot pedal in the intro piece?
This sounds better than the juno g

Is the DS-76 better for beginners learning Piano? Does weighted action have that much value in even synthesizers?
if you intend to eventually play on an actual acoustic or want to be switching back and forth between the Juno and an acoustic, you may prefer the Juno-DS88.
AWESOME - I own this board and agree. Do you know of a SOFT SYNTH (VST) with these sounds so I can use in my PreSonus Studio DAW? THANKS
Does it have a good selection of pads? For church?
What is the key-bed like too?
You can just record these sounds! Or try Native Instruments Komplete
I believe so..it has a built-in interface so it can be plugged directly into your laptop and capture audio.
@@PreciseSense85 Thanks. I was hoping to record in MIDI. I was hoping there was a way to choose sounds on the DS.
