Corporate 3.6 has come a long way, still using the same for CT4-V BW. I’m a long time Camaro guy having owned 5 never thought I would change but I have a V1 that love and want a V2-V3, has back seats for kids and more comfy for my aging 6’4 frame but still RWD fun. Amazing that an ATS-V is so close on paper to an SS Camaro, I’ve seen Vs put a car on them too.
Year for year (generally speaking) a firebird has ALWAYS been faster than a Camaro. That Said, The Camaro SS is the baby brother to the Cadillac V. The vett is the oldest brother to its middle brother the Cadillac V. The DIFFERENCE...The cadillac has luxury. ;)
Not really....i'm a caddy 80s baby myself but ALL ATSV's hit 10 seconds....Even with ZERO mods but a schimity tune ONLY .... \ World record is 6 seconds...... LOL
If you had ever been inside one you wouldn't call it a luxury car. I owned one for a year. Sold it because it increased in value over the past year. Bought at bottom of the market in April 2020, sold at much improved market in March 2021. Didn't really make any money because insurance on these things is ridiculous. My insurance went from $70 a month on a fully-insured 2019 Pacifica to $170 a month on my 2017 ATS-V. I even cut the mileage in half.
My point is that it is not luxurious. It has all the features you expect from an upper-trim car, but the materials are garbage. And since you can get every modern feature on a modern Toyota (Lane Keep Assist, adaptive cruise, auto high beams, apple carplay, android auto, memory settings, nav, massaging seats (the -V didnt have that), cooled front and back seats, surround-view camera (-V didnt have that), parking sensors, self-parking, proximity entry, etc), the only mark of luxury anymore is the quality and feel of the interior. And the -V interior is garbage. But i miss it though. Fast as hell.
@@danielcostello7170 I respect your opinion since you owned one but I think they are a nice car for the money. Maybe not as luxurious as a BMW or Mercedes but I guess luxury is subjective. Also, a lot of the circumstances you mentioned are an anecdote, and your insurance premiums are a strange thing to bring up IMO since they are irrelevant to the topic.
I had an 2017 ats-v. Fast as hell for sure. Fun as hell. 120+ coming off an uphill on-ramp. Interior is complete garbage though. All before 20,000 miles: Chipping and flaking on drivers door handle pocket. Vent separating from the alcantara dashboard cover. Color gone from large sections of drivers seat bolster (recaro). Suade shift knob (mine was manual) was glazed over. Passenger carbon-fiber door trim delaminated (luckily the part was only $130 and was plug-n-play). Leather seat cover separated from the metal seat vents (recaro). Visible airbag cover seam in the cheap plastic of the passenger dashboard. C-pillar trim falling from the pillar. Beautiful car on the outside. Garbage on the inside. And the gauge cluster was embarrassingly antiquated. Heads-up display looked cutting edge though. To my surprise the HID had a different look from my 2017 SS. Had all the same information, but different format. Not better...just different. A sweet hotrod let down by a garbage interior. For that reason you should not consider the ATS-V a luxury car. The only thing luxurious about it is the badge. And Cadillac badges don't carry the cache they used to. The V badge though. That is the mark of pride. These cars are 0-60 in under 4 seconds from the factory. Not the fastest, sure, but faster than almost all other cars on the road. Exhaust note sucks though. I missed my big, burbly, throaty V-8. Even if the twin turbo 6 was faster. Also you had to keep it above about 4000 rpm for it to really rip. Anything below 3000 rpm it was a sheep.
@@snunya9399 He NEVER really owned that car his dad did and his dad always whooped his friends ass who drove a M5 and a Mercedes 63 so now he hates the ATS because of "bad interior". No, it depends on whether you want a track dedicated car or something that can still be driven daily. Tunes are easy to scale, while builds are a different level of commitment. My days of trailering a Viper to the track are gone. I’ve dialed it back to what I can really drive on the streets & also run at the track … better balance for me.

It bring so much joy seeing that 10 1. Really put a smile on my face. Thank you.
Cadillac has vertical tail lights so when lose you know you're number 2 😂

Cts-v cluster swap from white media and a new wheel helps the dated interior, that's for sure.
I disagree with your definition of garbage. Is it luxurious? No. Especially compared to the Audi S8 I traded in for the ATS-V. But garbage? No.
