The nationwide search for the next superstar kicked off in August as the Idol Bus traveled covering 23 cities across the country. Auditioning was made easier than ever as hopefuls also had the opportunity to submit audition videos online as well as via select social media platforms using an official tag The Next Idol cultivating over 300,000 posts. Also for the first time in “American Idol” history hopefuls had the opportunity to audition through a livestream platform.
Helping to determine who America will ultimately vote for to become the next singing sensation are music industry forces and superstar judges Luke Bryan Katy Perry and Lionel Richie. Host and producer Ryan Seacrest will return as host of the beloved series.

She sang this song so well...this song was a perfect fit for her. I was so pissed when she went home. I love Madison so much...I hope someday she pursues a career in music. She'll get far in life. Her voice is so beautiful. I sang along with her. She killed this song. One question remains: WHY THE HELL DID SHE HAVE TO BE THE ONE TO GO HOME?!? I wish that either Madison or Alejandro won.
I was sad she got cut. Such a great voice. Best voice on the show. Laine and Alejandro can't touch her vocally sorry. And she's only 17! I would have been happy if her or Alejandro won. Whatever.

Amazing! The true winner... could've been Madison as the winner if all the fans votes actually were accepted. (I have screen shots)...If thousands of people had their votes rejected an hour after actually voting, I think that says the TRUE winner was robbed...But ....I think that's a silver lining! Madison can make her own decisions in the upcoming year

Never once, during any of her performances, did I ever feel like she knew what she was singing about. That’s not her fault, the judges literally never critiqued her. She could’ve won.
Fair enough, it was always more about just the singing technicality. But She’s still absolutely amazing
@@leiasart4610 yes. Unfortunately, this is idol’s big mess up. The success of the show used to be built on the premise of gathering contestants for the live show that were able to reach out through the cameras and make viewers feel like they “KNOW THEM-KNOW THEM”, like an old friend. This isn’t just a small mistake they forgot to focus on. This is the secret sauce that made the show work.
I hope she makes it to the top 2 and not get eliminated during the show
