She's already been destroyed. How can I tell? Look what she was wearing when she audition and then what she was wearing after. It tells a lot.
Sadly they were repitedly telling her she needed to 'be a diva', to 'get out of the box', to 'break the walls around her', all these darts taking her out of what she is and pushing her into what they want her to be. I pray she can handle the fame and not be surpassed by it.

So you'll never hear a cover song sung exactly on key of the original.

She and Jack Blocker were my favorites!!!
Her voice stood out from day one, but who could have dreamed that such a sweet little church girl with the huge bow in her hair could evolve so much and become an absolute superstar in just a few weeks, she deserved to win.🎉🎉

An hour later I have smiled and cried and felt determined and hopeful and have listened in awe. What an incredibly talented young woman who can take audiences on journeys they didn’t even know they needed❤️ Thank you, Abi.

I meant my comment as that her inner voice is also part of her outer beauty. I should have worded the comment differently. I know it takes skill and endless practice to master anything, and voice is absolutely no different, but if you look at both, Dolly and Willie with the voice also emulates beauty outside in the form of confidence. Which Luke was really helping her find thru her music on the show.

I cannot think of a better overall vocalist and performer in any contest show I have ever seen. Truly stunning. Edit: So I can save commenters some time this was my comment on Sydney Christmas' audition: "I hope somewhere in the West End those who rejected her are hiding their heads in shame. She has that voice and ability to express emotions through song that is so incredibly rare." I think Sydney is amazing.

He is truly fantastic, especially his voice on Earth Song, but I do not prefer him as a combination of vocalist and performer. Thanks for bringing him up though it was a pleasure watching him again.

Christmas. Her covers of ‘ I did it my way’ and ‘Tomorrow’ are by far the purest singing I’ve ever heard. No fancy accompanying or background music, just the power of her voice. Even better than Abi Carter

@@KrisandFlash I was showing a family member those performances earlier today. I have watched her audition several times. Sydney definitely has that "West End"/Broadway vibe and I certainly hope she makes it. Loved her performance of Tomorrow, and she is show funny and genuine. Abi, to me at least, has this unique concert quality, in addition to her voice. Her performance of "Hello", which is so widely covered in these shows, was one of the best and her new found ability to do almost performance rock was amazing. I think the thing about her for me is her age and how she literally grew as the show progressed. Both can draw you in with emotion and knock you down with vocal intensity.

Abi reminds me of the early years' winners. I picked them at auditions. Abi has that instant quality. The judges all knew at the same point also. There's good, very good and best stands out immediately. If you feel it in a few notes or a few measures you probably understand music or just think you do.

As the songs progress, her look changed. She was attractive but got more so. The costume and makeup people brought out a great beauty to match her voice. She also got better as a stage presence. She played the crowd better in the later songs.

Abi is the entire package. All of her performances, especially her later ones, felt like professional performances from a seasoned performer. She is as good, or better, than any professional singer in the industry.

I am in love with this young woman, Abi Carter! Her audition reminded me of Karen Carpenter, Carole King or Carly Simon and I am happy to see there are such humble yet amazingly talented musicians around, still. (I do like Billie Eilish very much, too!). I especially liked that Abi obviously enjoyed trying new roads of musical performances, and she did that so very well. Towards the finals, I couldn’t believe when she made that Barbra Streisand song hers, to feel so much truth & depth in doing what you love and absolutely owning it! So wonderful, I was in tears or choking half of the time and I will be watching this again. And again. Thank you for sharing, I hadn’t even known the show was on. She is professionally voice trained. She was flat a few times in different songs. She also pushes her voice too hard at times and it's not appealing. She is smart well studies in presentation and self aware while she plays and sings. Well practiced already a professional. I believe she worked harder and smarter then you can imagine. That's how you win and she is a winner. Exceptional work and dedication gets exceptional results. Congratulations

she actually revealed in an interview that she never had professional vocal coaching. she learnt to sing by herself! but she's been singing since she was a little kid so she had time to figure out her voice well enough by practicing and performing on the streets (which she did to get funds for college).
Of course she did because as a little girl I would sing and practiced all my favorite songs recorded myself and rewind the tape to hear where I messed up . She probably has no idea about tapes but she’s definitely a gifted one! My guess was church choir!
I think she was encouraged to push herself... as great as she was coming into this contest, she grew as a performer and singer. It will be fun to follow her career. Abi is the singer all these shows have been searching for... saying she is the complete package is an understatement and doesn't tell the whole story. Abi has elements of a real life Cinderella.
I think understanding the lyrics of a song is essential and I struggle to understand what she’s singing. Also conveying emotion imo can be more sober and will be more loaded.
