  • I am often asked if I'm reformed or Calvinist. No, I am a Christian, a follower of Christ. Pastor Baucham opens up with a story about how he came to believe and teach what’s known as “reformed” faith. Like him, I’d never been taught by or brought up in any reformed church, nor did I realize when reading Martin Luther or John Calvin that they were any particular kind of theologian; I also don’t believe their goal was to produce a denomination. Instead, they sought unity around “sola scriptura,” scripture alone. Like the pastor, I began to read what believers from the past wrote, and their teachings expounded on the text in scripture in a mighty way. I have read and enjoyed many theologians who don’t expressly state whether they are “reformed” and present solid teaching that aligns with reformed teaching.
I make no call for people to be of this or that denomination. I have no denomination affiliations; I’m a disciple of Christ. However, if your belief is not based solely on the scripture, you have no belief. The pastors I select to share are men I follow whose teachings have been a part of my transformation and are still a part of my walk with Christ. I am not drawn to a pastor's style, charisma, or the music they play; only one thing grabs my full attention: THE WORD. They are teaching what the scripture says, and I know it because I have spent the last 13 years examining the text to see if these things are so! Amen!
Please join me today in watching Pastor Baucham teach the closest thing to all believers, “The World, The Flesh, and the Devil.”

Too bad Voodie is always ranting about Catholics. After watching this it made sense. He made his own conclusions about the Bible and then found a source that aligned with his. Go back to the father's of our church. Read them and see how the church began. It is too bad. 95% there 5% off. The 5% is substantial.

He clearly states that he didn't make his own conclusions; instead, he looked to those who wrote long before he knew anything about Christianity. Even the men he references here he doesn't find complete alignment with. Thank you for responding!! I really appreciate you taking the time to share.
