I needed to hear this because nobody ever told me. When my mom divorced my dad, I lost a part of her. I believe I looked so much like my dad and she resented it. I ended up going to live with my dad and lost contact with my mom for awhile. I felt she truly just didn't want me. My dad was addicted and abusive. I ended up in foster care. Moving from one home, to another home, to another home. I felt like I didn't belong anywhere and begin to self destruct on a mission to be accepted. I chose the wrong men who were abusive. I became full of rage because I wanted all the right things but didn't know how to get them. I needed direction. I recently found God. God led me here. Thank you for posting, this has cleared up so much for me. God is truly the answer to life no matter who you are or what you are going through!

Sheila Wray Gregoire’s podcast is also excellent teaching-and from a very different perspective than Voddie-helping you to identify abusive men, for ex, which I almost married one of…a returned missionary. “girl, you leave me…I’m going with you.” Amen! That’s the attitude both men and women need to have in a marriage. It’s a fight to choose to love sometimes and yet, it’s extremely important. I’m coming up on 25 years of marriage and it has been a million choices to love on both our parts to get this far. And ladies, we got to stop acting like we are lovely and lovable all the time and it’s our husbands that need to work harder and love more in the marriage. I am NOT lovely and lovable all the time and my husband has had to dig real deep to choose to love me sometimes. 😂

My mother grew up in a Christian home, with parents that berated her for giving up her educational career to come along side my father to run his business. Even to point that my brother & i have been told by my grandparents our entire lives that what our parents do for a living is “lowly,” and we are less than for earning a clean living as fishing bait distributors. Thank you for the message that brings scriptural clarity to what i have always thought: my mothers willingness to put her career aspirations aside to follow my fathers vision for family excellence is the best choice for all of us. (And yes, my mother was an excellent teacher; now excellent as a business person). As a result, i see my parents being “fishers of men” daily at work. Frequent conversations with others on how God improves their lives, and if He has done it for us, He will do the same for others. Thank you, pastor, for confirmation that following Gods will is valued above cultural titles. We are to be about the business of the Kingdom as a family.

They will always look for someone who will mistreat them too. Exactly what was preached. Men are more voyeuristic than women so they tend to ‘cheat’ as women are more emotionally led. Thats why there is this cycle of hurt from the emotional side and more lust from the male side.

Sorta frustrating. I’m a single mom for 8 years. I used to homeschool while being abused. I finally left him. No child support and I’ve been working NONSTOP for 8 years- had to put my kids into public school. I’m barely home. When I am I’m attending the kids. But it’s hard to teach them how to run a home, live each other, or anything. I do my best. Nobody from church has ever been willing to help me. It’s pretty sad. I’m not mad- but the coaches at school are raising my boys. It’s hard being a man to boys as a female. I’m barely able to cook. They do that for themselves. As teenagers- they take care of each other a bit. It’s painful to hear these messages. I feel backwards and alone.

@@Megan-ih1zi I’m definitely teaching “them” (I think you’re referring to my kids)? The need for stable healthy God centered relationships and families so they have better situation than I did. The reason I struggle with these messages is not because the Holy Spirit isn’t helping me…. It’s the dynamic of being in a male/ female ROLE which allows me to be myself. I want to live the life he’s describing. It’s Biblical, and so many years I am single being the man/ provider- and it’s lonely and hard. It just is. I have good and bad seasons- but I always desire to have a family again, and enjoy being a woman, in my feminine role. That’s what this message is about. Being “home with the kids” isn’t what I do. I can’t. See? They don’t necessarily need the help to see how terrible single mom life is. I never signed up to be abused either. Hope deferred…. has made my heart sick. Waiting so long sick.

So much repentance and unlearning are needed. I was a wretched, evil woman. Still feel her come through sometimes...But He has changed my heart of stone for a heart of flesh, and now I yearn only for Him, for our Lord to help me transform into he eomwn he created me to be-for the Truth of His vision, and He is the Truth. So much sn in my flesh. And even more gratitude to Him, Jesus who chose to save me from death in my sin and arrogant, rebellious ignorance of His Holy Love. Kinda depends on which woman of the Bible we're talking about. A biblical woman might look like Deborah and lead a country and prophesy what God says over them, run a business and be generous with her profits like Lydia or the Proverbs 31 woman, teach God's word over others like Priscilla, study God's word like Mary Magdalene and then sharing what you learn, or even killing a dictator like Jael did. There are countless ways to be a Biblical woman - not just one.

I would love to get some feedback to my questions; I ask genuinely not just for debate
1)His definition of love is rather neutral, neither positive or negative, "acting on behalf of the object that is loved". Why doesn't the definition say something like "acting to benefit the one that is loved"?
    2) Can womanhood ever be separated from marriage and motherhood? How can women who are not wives or mothers act biblically?
    3) Are there any characteristics of womanhood that also apply to men (reverence, purity, something else not mentioned in the video)?
4)Condoleeza Rice can leave her job at any time. The ax murderer is an unrelateable example. I have seen Christian men cheat, not provide for their family, r4pe children, and all kind of other things that are not Christlike. What does it actually mean to live in submission to that kind of man? No one is perfect but the joke he made does not build hope in me. If the husband wants to leave, the submissive wife remains. If she wants to leave, he goes with her to make her submit.

    • @mfernandez4338
      @mfernandez4338 4 месяца назад +5

      1. The object that is loved is first and foremost the lord. On both sides of the marriage. Then each other.
      2. Yes. Of course. Women can act biblically if they aren’t married or mothers. A woman who seeks God first, who uses her work, her hands, and her gifts to make more of Jesus. Who acts pure and diligent.
      3. Men are first and foremost accountable to God. They have a much higher responsibility than women in that regard. They are responsible for loving their wives, sacrificing their wants and needs for their wives and families, working together in mutual respect and patience.
      4. If a man leaves, is he upholding his covenant before the Lord? Again, he is responsible to the Lord for his actions. Sovereign God isn’t up there choosing who he forgives, he works in every person through every sin…Vodie did give an example of this. If the man is acting outright sinful, the woman does not use the opportunity to seek vengeance or ill will, nor does she partake in the sin, but continues to grow spiritually and seek to her church for counsel. The goal is restoration, on both sides, not separation. If she is abused, or cheated on, there are clear guidelines in scripture for the family and of the churches role to assist. That’s why it’s so important to be a part of a church that loves Jesus and holds true the word of God.

Good points. I would also like to add the importance of choosing our husband's and wives. To throughly get to know the person AND their family. Their relationship with their parents, especially father. The most important relationship they must have is with God and Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. These cannot be simple words. The man or woman must display their commitment to God and our Savior daily. We, in time, will plainly see if they are a person of God. If someone is an abuser or has severe mental issues, emotional issues, God will reveal these things to you so that you may flee from wickedness. But we must use discernment that God gave us. I say these things as a young man who Jesus Christ recently just pulled me back into his flock. I realized the error of my ways, and was going down a dark path. God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit spoke to me in October 2024 to stop what I was doing (sexual immorality and lustful things) and to read the Bible quickly. Once I started, I realized I been going against God for so long and committing horrible sins against Him and my body. I now realize im not to have sex until I marry, and only to a woman who is of God and seeks a lifetime relationship with him. If im to never find a woman to marry, ill never have sex again, as it's a horrible sin to God's body he gave me. All this to say, its important to choose a wife or husband of God. Not just marry anyone. No child of God needs to be with a man or woman who physically and emotionally abuses them. It saddens me when I read about this, but we glorify not God, but looks and status in our modern times. Anyway, good comment. Ill pray for everyone in this comment section. God bless you

My counselor is telling me to allow my husband to watch porn. That I need to have a secure attachment not an attachment of anxiety where I'm forcing him to behave. ...I don't know how to balance where it's my biblical duty that his body is mine and submit to him (he thinks porn is fine)...while recognizing that his sin is his sin. The book of 1st Peter, where submit to my husband. And obey the Lord myself.
    What do I do?

Your counselor is wrong. As a Christian woman I have been exactly where you are. I am so so sorry.
Firstly...your counselor is giving you the world's advice. It is a failure.
Jesus says that to look on a woman with lust is to commit adultery in your heart, and it wasn't a metaphor. A man looking at porn is literally having sex with her in his mind.
The world makes all of us (in crude terms) cuckolds and depressed. You're being prescribed psychological arsenic. I was told the same. I will tell you now...if you aren't one of those women who "brush it off", you will never have this imaginary secure attachment.
As a woman whose husband was a porn addict, I can tell you honestly that it is a near equivalent to being cheated on relentlessly. It stole my sanity and my weight and my hair. It stole him, his touch, and his manhood. Modern psychology is lying to us and making us willing victims of adultery, and I can not stress that enough. Science backs up what is happening in porn addiction, and it is not good.
While you are to submit to your husband, he is sharing his (your) body with other women. Period. You are not "making him behave", you are asking for loyalty. You are asking for Biblical manhood, not overpowering him. In the same way that you should object if he began practicing paganism, you should object to adultery.
Is your husband a believer in any way?

This does not mean children should be excluded from main church services all the time, but it is also wisdom to teach kids on a level of simplicity they can understand. I learnt very little in church as a child but still remember many things thanks to Sunday school.

Some women walk around with just covering a tiny bit of their parts but let everything else hang out. We have curves as women, but don't go flaunting it. And your right, men will still make statements even when we're covered up modestly. How we react to that is what matters too.

The media has brainwashed, with the help of lazy parents whom many don't shape their lives around God, to believe physical looks, money, and status is king. Even above God. Many men chase after lust and sex as I did. They do not know any better because of their parents, and the constant bombardment of lustful media online and on TV. Sexual immorality is a horrible sin most, if not all of us are guilty of. Please choose the right man if you are to marry. Make sure he is a man of God and lives by his ordinances the best he can. Thank you Voddie for teaching on Ephesians 5 and the misuse of verse 21 to try to suggest mutual submission in marriage. God did not make an error when He designed marriage & family. Anyone who reads Ephesians 5 with an open heart, spirit, and in CONTEXT can clearly see that it is NOT teaching that husbands submit to wives. That is why the parallel between Christ & the church is mentioned. Christ never submits to the church. The relationship IS hierarchal and the authority/headship rests with ONE party, and it is not the woman/the church.
I know modern feminists and Christian women who have been poisoned and deceived by feminist ideology absolutely hate it but true women of God see the purpose of it & that Christ Himself demonstrated submissiveness to the will of the Father, even unto death for our sakes. It is not weak or inferior to be submissive--it takes great strength and truly, it can only be done by loving and being empowered by the Holy Spirit.

    • @kmountain5533

Submission only comes through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.
If a man does not submit to Christ his wife won’t submit to him. And yes the man is to submit to Christ and he shouldn’t argue about it.
When a man is submitted to the Lord he does not practice any sexual immorality - 1 Thessalonians 4:2,3 and he walks in joy, peace and righteousness - Romans 14:17.

Overall another excellent sermon. One stupid comment, that old men leave their wives for younger women because they want the affection of a daughter.
Rather because after a few years after marriage wives stop being sexually responsive. Obviously I speak in generalities but for the most part men get a younger woman for the sex they're not getting at home anymore. Cold sex as a duty is insufficient.
That's not an excuse of the man's sinfulness BUT rarely is the wife who starves her husband of sexual affection spoken to as also sin.

If you’re a genuine born again believer, while the situation of sex in the marriage needs healing, you don’t go out of the marriage and have sex with a younger woman/any woman. It’s willful sin, and you are not excused to commit it. Work on your marriage. Start loving your wife. Be present. Ask God for wisdom in healing your intimacy issue. This idea of adultery in a Christian home is deplorable. Walk in holiness. Choose your spouse.

You put the entire burden on the man as if it is always or even most commonly his fault. You automatically default to a misandric gynocentric view. I remind you the BIBLICAL advice in most cases of a contentious woman is to stay away rather than pursue her.

I agree with this for the most part, however, when it comes to the way dads treat their daughters, I don't agree that the reason men go looking for relationships with younger women is due to not being able to be affectionate with their daughters. There are some great men out there, that can keep a relationship with their daughter fatherly affectionate. There are also a lot of men that molest their daughters as soon as they come close to puberty, and even more so for step-dads. Because of this, I would be very cautious in pushing physical affection between dads and daughters as an overarching rule.
The statistics say that of girls that are sexually molested, 53% are abused by their biological fathers; 15% by stepfathers, and 8.8% by uncles. One in 9 girls and 1 in 20 boys under the age of 18 experience sexual abuse or assault.

There is a place for everyone in the kingdom of God. Single or Married, God's Sovereignty Rules. Whatever estate we find ourselves, it is essential to recognize that God’s sovereignty governs all things. We glorify God by trusting His wisdom and goodness in the estate He has placed us in. Thomas Watson, summed it up nicely,
“Wherever God has placed you, it is to glorify Him by contentment in Him. Contentment in God's plan brings glory to Him”
But I don’t think it’s right for Christians to say, “I don’t want a husband and children”, we should say, “Lord, I belong to you and you know what’s best for me, if you want me married, I will do that to your glory and if you want me single, I will glorify you in that as well… Thy will be done on earth as it is and heaven”

Good luck finding a woman like Voddie (and the Bible) described- even in the church.

The woman shouldn't act in in one way or the other according to Calvinists. You're either elected or not

I find it strange he actually believes God's word about this but denies what His word says about so many other very important things. How dies he kn ih w what is the truth?

Kindly elaborate. Don't understand. What did he denied?

@@GODSTRUTH3236 He does not believe in the literal millinium, he is an amillinialist. There is no such thing as literal 1000 year reign of Christ, it is spiritual, no such thing as literal 144,000 Jews who will evangelize, allegorical. No telling what else. He is also reformed= Calvinist.
