My wife and I have the habit of reading through the Bible over and over again and then listening to expository preaching on the passages we read. So, we came to Ecclesiastes this morning and in searching for messages came upon yours. We were blessed by the truth brought forth in your sermon
May Yahweh bless this man for his obedience and love for His ppl, his teachings have brought me so much closer to my Father, thank you Voddie for your life devoted to Gods ppl
Jesus said there WILL be trials and tribulations, so Dr. Baucham is spot on. Ecclesiastes was written by King Solomon via the Holy Spirit just like every Book from Genesis to Revelation. Solomon wrote this Book and Proverbs while living under the Law, but the law/commands/ decrees of God were written by Moses. The Law that Jesus fulfilled for us because we are too sinful, rebellious and weak. Give God all the glory!
I finally decided to listen to this Pastor. I'm glad that I have. He explained that Solomon sought out knowledge and wisdom. Studied everything he could even when he asked The LORD GOD for wisdom. THE LORD provided it by making it available. Wow. Im at 50, and now I will seek earnestly.
Ive been reading Ecclesiastes in the morning with my daughter and then last night during dinner I turned on RUclips to find a video. This was my top recommendation when we opened the app on our tv and I’m so glad we watched this! I’m rewatching it again today. God bless you Pastor!
Ecclesiastes is my favorite book. 1:9 is my favorite verse “…there is nothing new under the sun.” Such a comfort to know everything we face today is nothing new. Those who fear the Lord and are wise to look to the past and are comforted.
I get it’s you guys favorite book, but do you understand what he saying. This book IS NOT LAW. Its just wisdom, something King Solomon wrote through the Holy Spirit from his experiences.
No matter how challenging the path may seem, have faith that God is guiding your steps. With Him leading the way, you can overcome any obstacle that lies ahead. Amen.
The whole matter is to surrender completely to God. Trust God completely because He alone is sovereign. Guard your heart against fear, bitterness, wickedness, covetousness, deceit, and disbelief.
People today don't know what they have. When they realize the potential they have in God,all these things really won't matter. The word of God says that 'heaven and earth will pass away, but my Word will never pass away '.
This man is so very anointed. I thank God for the gift He gave this wonderful man. I can't get enough of how he explains the Word in such an understandable way.
The opening of this sermon is so powerful, giving me a new look at how I received the world. Man oh man this was for me to hear. Thank you Father and please blessed your messager Voddie Baucham. Wow!
Brilliant. Your message spoke to me. God always sends a man. My prayers for you and your family that you will have the strength to resist the devil and fulfill the purpose God has for your life. To God be the glory.🙏
Amazing word. Ecclesiastes is top 5 favorites books for me.. it’s really amazing and it shows you that all is worthless unless you have God. All will perish, all is given away after you die.. but if you have Christ then you’ll be in glory forever after this world.
This message came right on time. Just 2 nights ago I woke up and couldn't go back to sleep, the Holy Spirit lead me to read Ecclesiastes. I didn't question, I was just obedient. After reading it I said I'm going to have to do some studying on this, then God had me come across this video. I so appreciate this man of God's teachings.
Thank you, very clear explanation for us that want to follow every principle and law in hopes of a better life or future. I come to the place where I depend on him for every breath and anything more than that is a blessing and beyond.
When I read Ecclesiastes I fell in love with it. It’s spoke so directly to my life-the pain, the suffering, the loss-and it allows the reader to know the wonderful teachings and admiration for life and Yah through sufferings and struggles. The rocky road prepares the feet for the next stretch of miles up ahead. 🙏🏻 praise the Most High at all times
I think the gifting of God and the love for him is to Him from Him forever. My desire for the word of God is a gift. I am so glade God is generous. All of our abilities are from God and He deserves all the praise. Lean not on your understanding but in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your pathway straight!
That was a great sermon. I must have read Ecclesiastes 50 times but I have a little better understanding of it now. I love to hear this man's sermons....
POINTS I MADE THROUGHOUT: “Stop looking for hidden sins every time something goes wrong” (there may be one but stop looking for curses) - learn to think biblically! God intends for us to seek wisdom and knowledge. Solomon was wise and knowledgeable because he was RELENTLESS (devoted his heart) to studying everything! Wisdom and knowledge have their limits, he has tried but failed. No one can be fulfilled by wisdom and knowledge alone. “We cannot solve every problem” (vs.13) “You will never be wise enough or have enough knowledge to defeat death” (Matthew 8) Knowledge is insufficient without the knowledge of God There is wisdom that is wicked… “All the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden IN Christ” 37:49 powerful questions and deep stuff‼️ “Are you pursuing wisdom so that you could get stuff or so that you could know God?”
I am always amazed at how God confirms His Word thru faithful pastors . My pastor just preached on this very subject Sunday. I assume I will hear a third teaching on this or read something in the bible confirming these truths
Guides us to make choices that are right for the relationship we want with Jesus while surviving in a world full of sin without getting sucked into the world of the flesh without falling. And MOST of all that GOD is in charge NOT US!!!
I fell in love with Ecclesiastes exactly for the reason pastor Voddie says most do not like it. It hit me earlier this year as I did my morning devotional and I realized that a while hearted pursuit of wisdom was the source of Solomon’s wisdom. Not a natural endowment. I saw clearly that Solomon pursued pleasure and gained wisdom in that pursuit. I saw the beauty in gaining experience and pursuing life in full, with the understanding that we will be brought into judgment for our errors in the pursuit (Ecclesiastes 11:9)
Ecclesiastes is so underrated! We don't want to hear the whole truth of how everything we're pursuing doesn't matter as we think. We instead cherry pick and fo straight to Ecclesiastes 3:1 to try consoling ourselves in difficult times. Thank you Dr Voddie. Much love from Uganda
Ecclesiastes book is written vanity, vanity without God under heaven...i love this book by Solomon...the regret n lesson teaches us to not to live vanity life 😊Dr.baucham preaching is doctrinal n truth'.
When first saved, i was told that Ecclesiastes, was considered the most difficult book to understand. I was told the same thing about reading mere christianity. I found both, to be clear, sensible, and quite easy to get. Im 62, i can use the phones to call, and get on a web site, beyond that, i do NOT, wish to know these things. When introduced in 2007, i said emphatically, that these things mean big trouble. I naturally go to paper maps. See, tech, is like a man, running down a hill. I can PROMISE, IF HE IS NOT CAREFUL, AND RUNS TOO FAST, HE WILL FACE PLANT, HEAD OVER TEA KETTLE, HARD. Same with tech. Tech is knowledge, but not wisdom.wisdom, can only be good. Knowledge can be good, or evil, equally. Bad knowledge teaches us, in a different direction.
Thank you for preaching the truth Voddie! The world desperately needs the true undiluted Gospel. The culture has morphed into a monster that needs to be pierced with THE Sword.
Voddie, you may like to know I had just finished Ecclesiastes recently and naturally had serious questions regarding the meanings. Your sermon was no doubt delivered for the benefit of your fellow believers at just the prime moment. Many thanks for your obedience and diligence.
Was taught both, Wisdom as Law, seeking Earthly knowledge....yeah I was miserable for a loooong time. Did Evil with it too. Praise be to Jesus that he continues to work me (even breaking me down into painful situations) so as to better me for God's Glory. Want Knowledge? Peace? All the good things we strive after day after day after day? Drop what you know (or think you know) at his feet, at the Cross, accept Jesus into your life (EVERY ASPECT) and he will do in you amazing things you could never have dreamed of!!! HALLELUJAH AND AMEN 🙏 🙌
Amen, Hallelujah, Glory to God Almighty and The Lord Jesus Christ, who has given us His Holy Spirit and leads us in the way everlasting for His names sake
Christians' needs is to have pastors to show them Jesus Christ and to be guided to build relationship with Jesus Christ. Wean Christians from relying on pastors and church leaders so that they can lean on the Lord Jesus.
Made our own kites, lanterns, spinning tops, pea shooters, and who could catch the first evening dew (using - metal, glass or stoneware - saucer or plate), raced to outrun the rain; never bored.
A divine sermon indeed. God bless you Dr. Voddie Baucham Great sermon, Thank you Lord for your saints to preach truth in these last days. I love it when he said, "the more we learn, the more we don't know." WISDOM AND KNOWLEDGE IS DEFINITELY LIMITED! SOLOMON SAID IT, "FEAR THE LORD AND HIS COMMANDMENT, FOR THIS IS THE WHOLE DUTY OF MAN" (Ecc. 12:13).
Proverbs 9:10 says, “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” Basically, this verse teaches that the fear of God is foundational to true wisdom; all other types of learning are worthless unless built upon a knowledge of the Lord Himself. Many other passages talk about the fear of the Lord (e.g., Psalm 111:10; Proverbs 1:7; 14:27; 15:33). Before we can understand how the fear of the Lord leads to wisdom, we need to define what the Bible means by “fear” in this context.
How and what defines the fear of God? I really want to know? Understanding His Holiness and Justice? His impossible Grace through Jesus death on the cross? Thanks! :)
Ecclesiastes’sis my favorite book. It is very much responsible for bringing me to our Lord. People to glass over and change the subject when I quote it endlessly. I had know idea that everyone didn’t love it as much as I. This sermons explained a lot 🙏🏻❤️💪🏼🕊️♾️
I'll be very honest pastor this is my favorite book it's this one second would be James Hebrews Gospel etc I was in prison I got a hold of a study God I was happy I still have today from what I learned from the book was to make it short handle your business have discipline n every day will be different and everything will happen under the sun but it's love love book idk I guess how I was in prison I carried shame but I mean I was going tdcj ain't no joke
My take away from this Sermon is this... the Beginning of wisdom and knowledge is the fear of God and the ends of knowledge is found in Jesus our Lord and Saviour 🙏 and our life's Journey is to discover this Knowledge so that we may possess eternal life. Lovely Sermon to start the day, may the Lord Bless Pastor Voddie and all who came to listen.
My favorite pastor, He's always preaching the undiluted words of God.
Wish he was bishop/vicar of uk. Get welby etc out
My wife and I have the habit of reading through the Bible over and over again and then listening to expository preaching on the passages we read. So, we came to Ecclesiastes this morning and in searching for messages came upon yours. We were blessed by the truth brought forth in your sermon
