When that is the case and there’s no brow hair to work by, then def do work off the shade of hair on the head! And when in doubt, go more ashy or cooler with your brow color choice bc it will read more realistic! Hope this helps 😊
@@JennySueMakeup Thank you. I picked a little lighter than what was there. I recently lost all my hair to Alopecia. I am 69 and had not turned gray yet.
I think women also need to realize that they do not need foundation and concealers, but they can do their eyes and lips and cheeks. I see women with far to much make up on every day in my salons. I think a fear of aging is one. Women cake on make up and think they will look better, when in fact they look older. The best foundation is healthy beautiful skin. Massage creates oxygenation of skin cells and therefore collagen at any age. I did enjoy this Beth. Blessings 🙌🏻🍑🧡Lisa
There was a time I had flawless skin and wore only eye makeup and little blush and lip gloss. However, as I have aged, my skin has become uneven and am absolutely not comfortable going without at least a CC cream and a palette used to help cover several areas of hyperpigmentation. I no longer have skin that would allow me to feel good about myself without using a few products to help even it out.
Drink more water and you would be amazed at what a light layer of Vaseline brand will do! Every time. They have a triple purification process so healthy for the skin. Also dryness many times indicates thick and calloused skin. Gently exfoliate daily. Bring up healthy new hydrated skin!🍑🧡🙌🏻Lisa
@@PeachesSkinCare Yes, it's important to stay hydrated and to properly care for the skin. My skin care regimen and lifestyle consists of a minimum of 64 oz. water/day as well as regular (daily) exfoliation using an AHA/BHA product, a Vitamin C, E & Ferulic Acid serum (helps w/photodamage, brightens skin, helps w/firmness), use of B5 Serum that contains Hyaluronic Acid, sunscreen, etc. My issue isn't dry or tough skin, or skin that is not hydrated, my issue is with several areas of hyperpigmentation that have developed over the past several years. The daily exfoliation along with daily use of the C,E. Ferulic Acid certainly help brighten and diminish (somewhat) the unevenness, but not to the point I would feel comfortable going without a CC Cream & a tiny bit (applied with small brush) of product used specifically for hyperpigmentation. So, even with well taken care of skin, one can still not be comfortable going without some coverage.

I don’t have an answer to your question, but when you describe it I think that it’s very cool! That’s something that sets your face apart from other faces, and I’m sure gives you some really beautiful character. It’s hard to see your profile picture because it’s so small, but you’re beautiful! Your picture is so warm, you look so happy, you’re glowing!
Our brows are sisters not twins so that’s totally okay! I’d work with the straight one and try to fake a bit of an arch to match the one that has a natural arch. Try to create a tiny upside down V shape ^ at the top of the center of the flat brow to mimic an arch. Get close as possible but don’t worry about perfection. Good luck!
It was so helpful to see the side-by-side photos of the do's and don'ts of makeup application. Beth, you really looked so pretty when the new techniques were used. Great video. ~P~
Had to laugh, I just said to my girlfriend the other day, "When I walk into Sephora I feel totally overwhelmed and usually just turn around and walk out!"
Beth, you still look lovely with bad makeup although the good makes you look even more beautiful. Thank you for these tips. I love the tip about the eyebrows.
I found the ‘it’ brand, when correctly color matched really works and once it sets it doesn’t resettle into my wrinkles. Also, a little less is always better than too much.
also, research color correction! It’s a little bit of a scary topic, it takes some research, but I’ve seen people who have hyper pigmentation, acne, very, very dark circles under their eyes and to correct it they use color correct or, greens and reds and blues that they put on first, and their usual foundation on afterward, and if it’s done right it looks amazing! If you’re feeling bold and brave, I’d check it out!
Great advice. Women of a certain age who are trying to look younger by over-applying the wrong colors are actually making themselves look older. Same thing goes for sticking with dark haircolor way past "a certain age." Just looks harsh. Lighten up! Beth, the lighter look is beautiful and more natural looking on you. I will say I have to use lip liner or at least a matte lipstick because creamy/glossy bleeds into my lip lines. Thanks for the helpful tips!
Ooh I have some friends I want to share this but they are types who will feel insulted.. how do you suggest without feelings getting hurt (they are not asking for help 😬)
I love Jenneffer. I follow her on Instagram. She always makes me smile. You look wonderful in the "After" photo. Thank you, Beth. One more thing, she doesn't mean no blush at all, does she? Or just experiment with a bronzer to see if that is enough color for you?
Please help. My eyebrows were very dark brown, maybe even a soft black. Now they have changed to a mix of dark brown/ black hairs with stark white hairs. The white hairs are not covered using a pencil, and slightly using a gel. If I tweeze the white ones I will have no eyebrows left. Please help if you can. Thank you. My hair on my head is salt and pepper.
I was 28 when I noticed one evening that my makeup, especially my deep lipstick, was aging me. This was my first realization that I was no longer young, at least not in absolute terms. I gave up lipstick, blush , harsh and dark eyeshadows, and moved on to subtle makeup. Another reason I gave up theatrical makeup was that it made my natural self look "ugly" when I didn't have it on. I was even asked if I was sick, once. Now, decades later, I've pared it down to a single, light-toned eyeshadow with a pearl upper lid highlight, a bit of concealer in the eye corner, clear gel on my eyebrows, lash tint (ever 2 months), and mattifying powder. A speck of eyeliner and a lip stain, maybe. That's IT.
I love these tips. I especially love the eyeliner. Beth has gorgeous blue eyes. I have brown eyes. Would the statuesque look good with brown eyes as well as blue? And for lipstick I tend to use a mocha colored gloss. Oh my! I need to get some nyx gloss pronto.
Thank you for all the beauty tips! My question is what color do you use on eyebrows when they’re sparse but completely white. Hair color is white as well. My hair turned white at an early age (42).
I just looked on Amazon, and WHAT?!? It’s less than five dollars! 💄 I’m so used to watching beauty videos and being recommended something by Charlotte Tilbury for $40 that I put in my cart, but just can’t bring myself to buy because of the cost.
Eyebrow color that was not covered is choice of color when you have lost most or all of your eyebrows.
When that is the case and there’s no brow hair to work by, then def do work off the shade of hair on the head! And when in doubt, go more ashy or cooler with your brow color choice bc it will read more realistic! Hope this helps 😊

What is the suggestion for eye shadow for mature women? Is pale blue or pink flattering?
it really depends on your eye color. i would suggest starting with a neutral palette.
