My first friend was Matt's little brother. It was amazing growing up knowing the lead singer. Such a great guy. And their music was so good. R.I.P. such a great band.
I remember being a kid and this song being one of fondest favorites on one of the best skating games to come out ever. It got me through a lot of hard times when I finally became an adult. Thanks The Explosion and THUG 2, I'll never forget this track having that kind of impact in my life.
This album "Black Tape" is f'ing fantastic, 5 star. They still play the occasional live show, opened for Dave Hause (lead singer from the Loved Ones) here in NYC at Bowery Ballroom, few weeks ago 3/11/20, one of last shows before the whole quarantine thing hit. They bring it live, legit!
No it doesn't man. This song's my childhood from the video game Tony Hawk's Underground 2 I always played it at my grandma's house when I was a kid on the PS2.
In my opinion 1 was better but THUG 2 was awesome as well. In fact I think all Tony hawk games from THPS 1 to American Wasteland are some of the best games ever :)
+Cory Baxter Proving grounds was an epic one for me. Although there were no in the feels originality like THUG 2. Thug 2 was old school. FIRECRACKERS AWAY! SKATOPIA!
Fun fact: I originally heard this song on the Burnout 3 soundtrack and that version was actually edited! The first two lines of the first verse are removed and the remaining verses are spliced around and repeated instead. I was really thrown off when I heard the original version on Spotify haha
It’s so weird with music how we went from this 20 years ago to full on computer made rap and pop. I mean people don’t even know this type of stuff exists anymore.
Saw these at Nottingham Rock City in 2004, The Explosion, Millencolin and Swingin' Utters were supporting acts for (Not Very) Good Charlotte lol, I watched all the "supporting acts" then went home very very happy wearing an Explosion t shirt !!
I've listened to this song so many thousands of times for almost 20 years now and only gets better with time. Definitely they're most iconic signature song along with No Revolution!

@@DIP_BUH1207 yeah, maybe the lyrics were too harsh for kids. That explains why I was thrown off when I heard the version with the lyrics for the first time, years later after completing the game.
16 skating around my hometown all summer long listening to this song and plenty others, getting into trouble, drinking, doing mushrooms and just about everything else I could get my hands on, spiked Jean jacket with patches all over. Now I'm 32, got a kiddo on the way, drinking a couple beers and in bed by 10:30. I will always cherish the days long gone.
When this song came out I remember someone saying that they wish they could play this on an alarm clock so they woke up to it every morning. I agree with that person. :3
dude, i remember back between 2003 and 2005, i used to get FUSE on basic cable and this song was always on. I jsut nostalgia'd pretty hard watching it just now, thinking back to being 12-14, that was a good time
@Mattmoo36 WHAT? The Bouncing Souls are one of my favorite bands ever and I was just on this video to see a punk band with so much potential, wasted. And they are back and touring with TBS? Awesome!

Back when video games cared about your entertainment rather than your pockets. THUG 2 all day
For me it's cars.
