Pretty much the reason why Justin left, they wanted the heavy rap-metal sound, and he wanted to keep a fun pop-punk/ funk sound. The metal was selling more, so he got forced out. Sad, because he absolutely killed it when he was active
Oh yeah, totally, I prefer their newer music but the shift in vocals and style has been very obvious, they remind me a lot more of Good Charlotte and Blink-182 now.

I do like Matty but when Justin left they lost that edginess of MFZB and turned more pop punk which is still good.
