I’m just starting to learn about ZMF. Interesting products. I’d say Hifiman makes a better case for the “best” company with their dedication to bringing quality sound to much lower price points.
I just ordered bokeh openback. My first ZMF, always dreamed about ZMF headphones but I am in Europe so hard to trust delivery companies, hopefully this one will come to me without issues. Anyway thanks Joshua for being one the best headphone RUclipsr. Watching you it's an always a pleasure and some buying decisions are easier to make. :)
One of my favorite part with ZMF is how much you can fine tune the sound by mesh & pad swapping. The stock configuration sounds great, but it's always part of the fun to change things up.
I know you mentioned you want to get a stabilized or LTD Bokeh but that natural black limba version you've got is amazing looking. One of the nicest I've seen (also a hardwood or stabilized version might lose a little of that reverb you like about it). Thanks for the early impressions on the open, also I like the mention on the gold sockets and silver rods. Always thought that was an odd mismatch.
Ya, Ive thought about the stabilized sound difference, but haven’t heard it yet 😬 so hopefully it’s not too much different but will have to wait to find out i guess. 😅
I think it's great that ZMF is making a more affordable line of headphones with the standard 3.5 connections that can be driven with a simple phone Dongle or a DAP. I know this is a big ask but I hope in the future there is a wireless version as well. The more people we can get into this hobby the better. People need to know there are more options than the big three of Apple, Sony and Bose.
I know the holidays are coming up but do you have the Aune SR7000 in your plans to review some time soon? Would love to know what you think about it considering how much you liked the Aune AR5000 earlier this year. 🙏
Every time I see your miyoo mini in the background of your b-roll, I leave a comment that gets ignored. I wanna hear more about the retro gamer side of Joshua!
I heard these at axpona, as soon as my wallet recovers from Xmas I’ll be placing an order for a pair, too bad I’ll miss the initial release but somehow I’ll probably survive, barely 😅 thanks Josh!!!
Are you going to publish a review of the Feliks amp that’s been appearing in your videos lately? I’ve been curious about that one and how it compares with the WA7.
Thanks for this mini review, Joshua! However, I must say, I am disappointed that the Open doesn't sound nearly identical to the Closed, since the Bokeh Closed is my all-time favourite headphone, and I was hoping to acquire a pair of the Open sometime (I don't need another closed-back pair of headphones, and besides, in-ear monitors do a better job of blocking-out traffic noise). Reverend Dr. Thomas, The Vegan Vicar.
@@sidfuel, the headphone store at which I auditioned the Bokeh had a Verite in stock but they refused to allow it to be used as a demonstration unit, unfortunately. :(
nevermind I found it, it's a JDS Labs Element (mk. IV I'm assuming since that is the newest generation) with the clear knob option, $499 + $49 for the knob
Bro, I've just watched your other video and you release new one. Great! What amplifier do you recomend for hifiman edition xs with atleast decent pricing?
@ The SR7000 Closed is getting rave reviews and claims of sounding open back, even competing against the better open backs. I'm so curious to hear how they sound against the Bokeh Closed.
@dgevert That's ok. I want to see more reviews and comparisons of the open and closed. I'm probably leaning towards the Bokeh Open after recently getting a FiiO FT1 Closed Back
First. Whats that black 4 tube amp shown multiple times? Beautiful headphone. I do believe in the ZMF mission. Hand crafted American product with soul.
There are so many near SOTA headphones under $1K nowadays. We are so lucky. The ZMFs are amazing jewels. But I think I’ll try the new Shangling headphones this time around.
Bokeh to me was very thin sounding and everything was coming from a distance. Switching to any other feeling i was in relief and to me and my friends both limba and dark wood was the same. $90 sound from $900 headphones. Now i wonder open fixes it…
ZMF is the best headphone company. Period.

absolutely
This is a great entry point to get a taste of zmf sound without spending over 2k.. great business and industry play for sure .. 😊
And it sounds better than headphone costing several times the price, in my opinion.
Until the layers seperate in 5-10 years. plywood.....
I just bought one of each. Glad to see you have a review ready for me
Haha nice!
Disposable income be like
@@link3457 true lol. This, however, is more like a long-term investment 😅
@@link3457 what? these are the most cost effective options from ZMF.
Love the song in the opening. Thank you Josh and Shazam
Love the vamp look. Just grabbed some Z1Rs, but these might be the open-backs for me. 😍

Let me know your thoughts once it arrives
The intro song was so wild it woke me up and I had to hear it again.
Well that's just the best looking headphone I've ever seen
It looks spectacular, I still prefer the Radiance tho

Great review as always. The clear potentiometer on the JDS Labs looks bonkers. That should be a stock option.
It is actually a stock option!
It's a $49 option for Element IV
Heard these at an expo very great headphones
Love the Hamlet reference

As long as the battery is easily replaceable, of course.
I have an mmcx bluetooth cable with mmcx to 3.5mm adapters...it does work and it does drive the Bokeh Closed without issues!

looks cool

No worry I waited 2 years for Atrium funds but at the end I bought really nice limited ed with discount
Beautiful ❤

Reverend Dr. Thomas,
The Vegan Vicar.
how would you describe the zmf verite open in the zmf und universe?
I could buy a used one.
thanks and greetings
who in the hell would want a new headphone to sound exactly the same as another headphone in the market???? DUMB Reverend Doctor.

For your bass song recommendation, suggest Way Down Deep off the album The Hunter, instead ;-)

in case Joshua doesn't answer, I'd bet his response would be dx3pro+
FiiO K11, K7 or K9.
It will be interesting how this battles with a Meze 109 Pro.
ZMF Bokeh Closed vs Aune SR7000, please!🙏🏽
If the Aune is superior to the Bokeh, it will need to be BEYOND spectacular.

I'll consider getting a Bokeh once they do a Stabilized run on them. Open or Closed Back will be the tough question? 🤷🏻
You just missed their stabilized Bokeh closed run. It was a couple weeks ago.

Perhaps it was out of phase, because my experience of the Bokeh closed was ASTOUNDING!
Ahoy
Its cheap because its made of playwood LOL. Good luck in 5-10 years when the layers start separating.
If you have no taste… black it all out.
