I couldn't tell you for the life of me what I liked so much about this cover that made me think about it on a nearly weekly basis for all the years it was lost from the Internet. The original, should on paper, be superior in every conceivable way, yet there is something about this rendition that is damn joyously life-affirming. So glad it's back up!
Thank you for re-uploading this fantastic, post punk inspired cover. Don’t know if this band is still around but they really made this song their own with the rough and raw guitar and awesome harmonies
Been a Dan fan since their first album dropped in late 1972. There are plenty of faithful covers of this classic from 1974, so thanks for reinventing it in spectacular fashion here.
Wow, I can't believe this is back up. Such a great cover. Bought the first Hospitality album based on the strength of this cover (which is seriously a fantastic album)
@@user-no7vv5gi2v Cover versions embody a compulsory license though. As long as they're receiving mechanical royalties from RUclips, I can't understand why a songwriter would insist on a takedown - unless of course they're Don Henley.
Thank you for reinventing this song. I hate covers that duplicate the original. What’s the point? Bass player is insanely good on the turnaround run. Electric lead is better than Skunk’s. Vocalist turns the song into punk. I’m not a punk fan but for some reason I love this. Drummer is steady. Well done!
Her voice is really great and they can all play too! So hard to re-interpret the Great Steely Dan but this is a fabulously good version - my compliments!
I really love this version of one of Steely Dan's finest songs. Cool vocals, intricate guitar playing and great musicianship... it's not easy to play this number but they did a great job!
I really like this cover but I wish Amber's vocals were a little less staccato. Background singers: "You might use it if you feel better.." Amber: "... 'u ge' ho'."
I think it’s done pretty well, they made it their own. They didn’t do a crappy Steely Dan wannabe cover, which is most steely dan covers. Good on them for doing their own style and succeeding in making good music.
well this just dropped back out of the sky. thank you God

Totally agree!
One word: PunkRock
It's a hearbreak song either way, but there's a different kind of tension at this tempo. I grew up on the original, but I play this a lot now.
One of the few covers I like way more than the original. I used to watch this almost daily
Man, this kicks ass. These folks were seriously good.
Damn!!!!! Whatta gorgeous cover.
This was out of the internet for years. Such a beautiful cover. Thanks!!

Donald and Walter would be proud of you. Guitar solo !!!! Lead Vocal... Thank You. Because of this I bought your Album 5 Stars
For the life of me I can't understand why AV Club wiped all their Undercover vids from the web. This is one of the really good ones. We need more!
most likely a licensing issue

100% truth. can't believe this.
Muy grata versión la de estos chicos para este grandísimo tema de Stelly Dan😊
Thank you for this, I thought it was lost forever.
This is pretty great. The zoom in on that bass riff 👍🏻
Simplicity with a punky attitude yet very very tasty Nice job 😎
Dude kills this lead!
Tienen algo especial....me gusto❤
I look for this all the time. It’s back.
All of the AV songs should be on spotify dang it!
This is one of my favorite covers..
Thanks so much for posting!! I've been looking for this for years.
GREAT INSTRUMENTALS ! THANK YOU FOR DOING THIS !
Thank you for uploading this!! Always sad that AV club deleted the old undercover sessions, this one is such a great one so glad to see it up
This clip led me to explore this band and download their album. I don’t think they exist anymore.
Seriously thanks pal for the repost!
Love it, Love it, Love it. Can’t get enough.
This song made me fall in love with Hospitality. Too bad they don't release music any more!
Her voice is really great and they can all play too! So hard to re-interpret the Great Steely Dan but this is a fabulously good version - my compliments!
Wow this rocks. This is the first interesting cover of a Dan song ive heard
Best av club I've seen
Interesting. I like it !
Cool . love her voice
Very cool. Very cool!
More up beat than the original. Definitely has a 90s feeling 👍🏻
This is my favorite song the world. for now.

Punki Don’t Lose That Number
That was actually pretty good.
Great cover!
I really love this version of one of Steely Dan's finest songs. Cool vocals, intricate guitar playing and great musicianship... it's not easy to play this number but they did a great job!
Great chorus on this one
i love you. god damn it.
She didnt have confidence with the buckingham song, but this one, she talked her way through this song just fine.
Sounds like The Flying Lizards cover of Money (that's what I want)
Bien vu !
How did they learn it so quickly? Flawless performance as far as I could tell. And the guitar solo, phenomenal!
This is how the Ramones would have played it.
TRUTH
Better than the original
👍
fun wish it was closer to the real thing......
1:00
I miss AV undercover,so much
Scott Smith what happened to the series?
They just stopped doing it, in 2017 or 2018 I honestly don’t know why
Great! Don’t replicate it, do your version.
Took a great song and made it better! Make your argument!
Freaky! I dig it! 🤘😎
very unique cover. I like their rendition. Still, aint no Steely Dan.
Is it just me or does she sound like Juliet Lewis
groovy cover tbh
Joan Jett version
I really like this cover but I wish Amber's vocals were a little less staccato. Background singers: "You might use it if you feel better.." Amber: "... 'u ge' ho'."
is it wrong that I'm watching this video naked
um.......uh..............what?
Too fast. It's sorrowful song.
Way too faaaast
I think it’s done pretty well, they made it their own. They didn’t do a crappy Steely Dan wannabe cover, which is most steely dan covers. Good on them for doing their own style and succeeding in making good music.
They made Rikki swing and it works. All of it.
