Every quilt has a soul and a story just like the quiet hearts who create them...one stitch, one breath, one heartbeat at a time. Thank you for sharing this magic.
Thank you I enjoyed seeing the beautiful quilts, my favourite was the collage quilt with the 2 horses and heading dog. That's a lovely selection of Liberty fabrics & trims ❤
Hi Angie - I loved the horses and dog quilt too. Have you watched Collage Quilter here on RUclips - she does these type of collage quilts - absolutely incredible. Hope you’re having a lovely weekend. Cheers, Christine 💙🧵🪡
Oh how wonderful to see all these beautiful displays, I love the 'Sweet Anna' Quilt, so very pretty but of course there were others I liked that I didn't see the name, very talented quilters. You could spend hours looking at all these pieces and techniques of how they've used the fabrics. Very nice haul, I'm not sure I've ever had a piece of liberty fabric but I've heard a lot about it. Enjoy everything you bought and thank you for showing us :) xx - Jeanette
Thanks Jeanette - so much inspiration! I’m sorry I didn’t do that well on always filming the labels as sometimes people were standing in front of them. Liberty fabric is lovely but often expensive so I was happy to get my little scraps packs 🤗
So much stitchly wonderfulness! I really like the scrap mandala featured at 6.20, and the Japanese doll designs are lovely too. The sashiko style quilting at 8.15 is breathtaking. So many talented and unique artists out there. It’s good to see them being celebrated like this. ❤ The floral fabric selection you picked up looks beautiful, and I’m interested to see how you’re going to use the William Morris style patterns. Your fabric stores must be overflowing by now! 🤣 (And I think you made the right choice about the pack of trims… they’re fabulous!)
Thank you my friend - I’ll be watching the video back for my own inspiration too when I’m starting a new slow stitch piece. I’ve already had some ideas for the floral liberty fabrics but still musing on ideas for the strawberry thief pieces - besides just looking at them lovingly 😆 cheers, Christine
Thank you, it was wonderfull, what a beautiful building too ❤ I love your purchases, the bundles of shimmery ribbons and such was so pretty, I got a few of those for my birthday many years ago and used a lot of it in a Xmas quilt. With Christmas you can’t overdo shimmery things.
Thanks so much - your Christmas quilt sounds fabulous! The Royal Exhibition Building is indeed a wonderful building. A wonderful venue for the beautiful quilts. Cheers, Christine
Just found your channel. What a quilt show. I was reminded of your retreat purchases. All those tatting and crochet items should be put in a quilt. Plus all your trims. If you think about, not too many people would like these items handed down to them and to preserve them they could be featured in a quilt which I think would be more appreciated. Also they won’t get buried in a box or the back of a drawer. Those quilts were mind boggling.
Wonderful ideas Katherine and I have a piece I am working on in slow stitch style using an old wool blanket that travelled out from Hungary with my partner’s mum after the war so it is quite a heirloom piece with her initials embroidered on the corner of the blanket. Here’s one video where I was working on this piece: ruclips.net/video/TLtZ0s_qjSQ/видео.htmlfeature=shared. Cheers, Christine
Omgosh. Thanks so much for sharing. The quilts were phenomenal and I love all the treasures you bought. Can't go wrong with Liberty fabrics. ❤and the troms were just adorable.
Wow! Different from all other hauls you had; beautiful with blings and bright colors. Thank you for showing us the exhibition, so many talented/ creative artists! I get so intimidated with large quilts with its precise position and cuttings. I can only admire them from afar😊. Love the boro jacket and the flowers. Some looks like your textured Fleur-project. Thanks Christine! 🌷tess
Thanks Tess - was very happy with my little purchases as they add things to my supplies that I didn’t have. What I loved about the quilts was not all were those precise style like the beautiful slow stitch style nautical piece. It has my mind whirring about continuing to work on my Treasure hunt blanket and cover the whole piece as though it is a quilt 🤗 And I love that you spotted some of the Fleur Wood type piece - I saw that too 🤗 cheers, Christine 💙🧵🪡
It’s years since I attended a quilt show, and there were so many contemporary quilts on display that have my mind reeling with possibilities. I thought I’d finished with quilting but perhaps not at all. Also love your pretties. Cheers.
Thank you so much Christine for showing us around the Australasian Quilt Convention. The quilts are so beautiful and made by some very clever sewers. I love your Liberty fabrics. They are a great price. Patchwork with Gail B is a large store in Bayswater. I go there occasionally as they have a wonderful range of fabrics, kits and haberdashery. I would have loved to have gone to this quilt show but alas I have no quilty friends and wouldn't want to go on my own. I may drag hubby along next year! Enjoy all your wonderful purchases. xx
Thank you Jacqueline - I’m so happy I could share a little bit of the incredible show. Definitely consider going next year - there’s so many people there that I don’t think you’d feel lonely. Cheers, Christine
Hi Christine. I was there yesterday too (Friday) Wasn't it great to see that there are so many creative people out there making wonderful pieces of fabric art!! A thoroughly enjoyable day. And I only spent $250!! Also being restrained 😃
So happy you got to visit and hopefully you had a more leisurely wander. Would love to see your wonderful haul! It is very hard to be restrained with so much delicious stitchy goodness around! Cheers, Christine
How lucky to be able to have a walk around this beautiful exhibition, I had also forgotten how magnificent our exhibition building is . Those quilts are beautiful and love your purchases . ❤
Beautiful venue, awe inspiring quilts and it looks like you visited at a time when it wasn't too crowded. Thanks for taking the time to film and share with us. I'm envious of your Liberty fabric packs!
Thank you Oliveva - so much inspiration! The liberty fabrics will definitely be treasured but I’m determined to use them too rather than just hoarding them 🤗
😊😊 ❤❤ Thank you so much for sharing your walk thru the show, so many beautiful pieces. Those fabrics and trims you got are Absolutely Gorgeous. ❤❤❤❤❤ Such a great deal you found. So much inspiration you've shown us again. 😊😊
Truly incredible Lisa! I think I’ll take the day off next time so I can enjoy a very leisurely explore of all the show (rather than a quick explore during my lunch break) cheers, Christine
So much beautiful and extraordinary eye candy! 💞 Did you happen to see Kendall Taylor? I've only made it thru 1/2 his video yet! I ❤ that building! Will be interested to see how you use the trims for Christmas. Tyfs
Thank you Jayne - I’ll be sure to check out Kendall! And you’re so right that the RoyalExhibition Building was as much a star of the show. Cheers, Christine 💙🧵🪡
So much eye candy! Loved the trims. The building that held the quilt venue was also a feast for the eyes. What was the name and original purpose of the building?
Thanks Elizabeth. The building is called The Royal Exhibition Building and is heritage listed and has lovely details. It was built in built in 1879-1880 to host international exhibitions (a movement at the time). Cheers, Christine

Absolutely AWESOME! I had tickets in 2020 from the UK. Guess what happened? That Nautica is breath taking. Yay for slow stitching !
