I am so happy I came across this video. I am just starting out working with wool applique and having the privilege to see Salley's work is so inspiring. Every piece of her work is just beautiful. Although I have been doing art and crafts all my life, this new work with wool is new to me and I think I am completely addicted now. Thank you again so much,
Thank you for your lovely, supportive comment. We're sooooo pleased to hear that you got so much out of it. Feel free to check out our other podcast interviews www.sofst.org/podcast/
I am blown away by this art form!! She is truly a master craft woman with her own very unique style! I am in awe! I love textile art, I'm just getting into a few things now like punch embroidery, rug tufting, crocheting, beaded jewelry macrame, clay, resin, painting etc...( mid life artistic crisis!!) lol I guess I'm searching for something that best represents my artistic expression but I can't imagine ever being gifted enough to do something remotely this gorgeous!! The detail, the textures, the fact that it's 3D and almost seems alive and can jump off the page!! It's just breath-taking!! She has such a youthful, imaginative and happy disposition and that comes across in her work so beautifully. If she ever did an online course, I would take it!! Oh no... more craft supplies!! haha I need a bigger house!! haha Amazing interview! Loved every minute of it!!
I LOVE this woman’s work, her artistry! ❤️ I am intrigued with both the scope And intricate detail it shows. Just wonderful! ❤️ Imagination magnifique!
I was lucky enough to see an exhibition of Salley’s work (I went THREE times!) at a museum here in Greenville, South Carolina, USA. Each piece was mesmerizing in its story and detail. Magnificent work! I stood in front of a few of them for about ten minutes, thoroughly looking into all the details.
I’ve seen Salley’s beautiful work many times in Massachusetts, Vermont and currently Albany, NY. Her work is inspiring. I and my friends love that her work is opening the door to fiber art in museums. Come to NY at the Albany Institute of History and Art. It’s a wonderful exhibit.
Yes we have lots of episodes already published and lots more booked in. You can find all of the episodes over on our site here www.sofst.org/podcast/ thank you for your support. It means a lot.
I am also so thrilled to come across this video ! I live in New England (Ct.) not far from Cape Cod, so I would love to go see a local show of Sally’s. Going to keep an eye on any upcoming exhibits of her work, I would love to see her Art in real life. So much joy and beauty in her work, I’m in awe ❤ Thank you for showcasing her work.
Just some feedback for what it’s worth. I found the little white line moving at the top of the screen very distracting, so much so I couldn’t keep watching this podcast. I’m disappointed because what I heard was very interesting and I wanted to share in the artists journey but it was just impossible to listen to and watch.
Thanks for the tip! It is also available on all podcast platforms, on our website or you can listen at this link without the visuals player.captivate.fm/episode/54cb304c-dad0-4b3f-847d-82f7b9798338

The strongest message for me at almost 70 years of age is that I dont have to learn all the stitches first. She gave me permission to just do it!
