man that t-shirt is so 80's , friggin rights. yes it is good that you aren't dependent on pain meds, some people abuse them and get addicted. good to see you're only taking when needed, and recovering well. looking forward to see some fresh automotive content. thumbs up

Keep at it Bud! Take it as easy as possible for the first 6 weeks, and until you start physical therapy. I’m 7 weeks post op from a microdiscectomy on my L4-L5, and I’m still taking it very easy. I’m going to let my physical therapist tell me about the does and don’ts on this whole process. For now, walking has been my best friend lol. It gets better! Stay strong brother. Wishing you a safe and speedy recovery. 🙏🏼

alan mercado thank you! So far I am doing very well I have some pain on my left lower back that comes and goes I’m hoping it is because of how I was leaning that way for so long and things are still tender on that side. I go and see my surgeon again on the 29th and they told me no PT until after I see them again. I’ve been doing it’s of walking and trying to avoid overdoing things as much as possible. I had L4/L5 and L5/S1. Not sure if you watched the other videos or not. Right now they talked about my return to work being the 17th of June but I’m still skeptical if that will happen. I feel good for the most part like mentioned but still worry that the requirements of my job may be too much without some PT beforehand. Good luck on your recovery!

screaming86 glad to hear your doing well.
Back pain is definitely normal after this procedure. I’m 8 weeks out today and still experience sudden sharp pains in my lower back and soreness. It should get better as time goes by, and as I start PT. I’ll be starting PT next Tuesday. Also getting tons of muscle spasms, doc said PT should also help with that too. I still haven’t returned to work because I want to know my full range of motion and see what my limitations are under the supervision of a professional. I’m taking as much time as possible to recover because nothing is worth reherniating. I would rather take my time, not rush into anything, and play it safe. Patience is key in this process.

alan mercado yes I intent to push for PT I’ve heard a lot of times surgeons will not prescribe it. However I went so long unable to stand and walk normally that I still have a lot of muscle fatigue.
