Just had my l5s1 done a 8 days ago. I feel amazing already. I know there will be days to come where I will hurt but already best decision I’ve ever made.

@Veronica I'm 10 months in of back pain. I found out I have a disc buldge at L5 s1 I've tried physical therapy, chiropractor, decompression exercises, deep tissue massages, medicine, etc nothing helps. I'm scheduled tommorrow for a steroid injection. My doc said if it helps with the pain surgery will help the pain go away. I have back pain on my left side when I sit not when I walk or stand. Has your pain went all the way away after surgery?

Day 8 of my laminectomy/discectomy. Back is still sore as to be expected. But my thigh and calf is always on fire. I started searching for these videos just to see if other ppl had the same problem.
Glad to hear im not the only one who worries lol. Hope everything has healed up greatly!

@@Sunil-wi4yw after about a month or so I was perfectly fine, I was slow jogging after 2 months. Could bend ect. I was cleared to weight lift ect. I unfortunately went to a chiropractor for my neck and ribs after 6 months of recovery (told them about my back ect) they wasn't supposed to touch it. But they did and it popped my disc back out instantly..so today I unfortunately still suffer from now multiple herniated disc. And the sourgen doesn't feel I'm fit for another surgery at this time..
But the surgery did work and was a blessing while it lasted before my chiropractor visit.
I hope all is well for you!

@angeyates I unfortunately rebulged my disc at the L4L5 about 7 months after the surgery.. they wouldn't do another one right now doing PT with little change.
I will say it helped amazingly after a couple months. I was even running again for a short time.
Give it time be careful and I hope you soon get to feel back to being a normal person again!,

I’m 2 weeks post surgery as well. And I’m happy I went through with it. A little bit tight in the lower back, but overall sciatic pain in my left lower back and leg is gone after 2 years of putting up with the pain and the worry. I feel for everybody going through this condition, and if your having doubts about surgery from my experience I really think it was worth it.

Paulo Auelua 100% agree. Best thing I ever did! Like you . I am 2 weeks post surgery and can’t believe how well I feel. Just a little but of tightness in the lumbar area. But nothing near the pain . That I was used to . I would advise anyone pondering wether to have it done ur not. To go for it.

@@Sunil-wi4yw So sorry for late reply! Just noticed this. I am now 2 years post surgery Sumi. At first everything was amazing! The spasms went completely. I could move freely. But sadly in my case . Adhesions grew at the site of my surgery. Making the spasms and pain worse. They won’t operate again as it’s too dangerous. I’m still glad I did it though. I hope you are healing well . Elizabeth

I just had discectomy, laminectomy and bone spurs removed from l5, l4 and l3. The pain radiating down my buttocks is better, but now I have pain in my groin. I had a discectomy on l5-s1 about 20 years ago. I did well from that but the past two years , I have fallen multiple times and herniated the two discs above as well as the l5 again. Only been a week so hoping it gets better. Good luck and happy healings to all going through this.

Had a micro lumber dicetotomy emergency surgery end of April 2019.I was going into paralysis on my right leg .Am very grateful with the surgeons for saving me from paralysis.Am no longer having pain on my right leg but I have severe pains when I seat long period and when am sleeping I still get muscle spasm but not as pain-ful as after I had surgery.
I had L5/S1 disk herniated. My right leg lost some power but still am able to walk
How long did the pain stop? What therapy’s was helpful after surgery?

2 weeks is not long enough of a recovery process whatsoever for that procedure. Try 8-10 weeks and at least 12 weeks before you really return.

hey how are you feeling now , hope everything turned out great for you as its been 2 years for you !!
i had my MED two weeks back on two levels , l4-l5 and l5-s1, after the surgery i had numbness in my right foot like half of it , kind of like when you have the feeling of needles , anyway two weeks up and the numbness is gone from the foot pretty much , i can sit , stand , walk the nerve pain is gone , but i do feel little pain sometimes in knee join , or back of thigh and calf , its not constant and not that great but its there and it keeps changing like for a week i had pain on the back side of my leg now its gone , and sometimes i feel pain in my foot the front. my back feels little stiff and i feel like its maybe not taking the full weight of my body idk i am not sure but i feel it lacks flexibility , i haven't got the chance to meet my doctor after the surgery and i am going to meet him next week... i am still really afraid of doing anything as my biggest fear is what if it re herniates or when is it okay to start walking or sitting , or the symptoms i am feeling now is just temporary and with time the nerve will heal ? i hope my doctor clears these things up but i would love to hear your thoughts on this ..
with best wishes and regards , hope you have a healthy, blessed, happy life.
    Faizan :)

Hello!, How are you doing now. Could you share your experience. For mine, I had Microdiscetonomy at L5-S1 on 17th of December (10 Days back). There is no pain if I keep laying in bed. But if I sit for more than 5 minutes or walk more than 100 steps it hurts mostly in buttock and calf muscle areas.
