The Las Vegas monorail starts at the Sahara, I just recently took the monorail from the Sahara to the LinQ, it was easy getting around the strip that way.
Perfect content for anyone who wants to go to Vegas! I've binged watch every hotel review over the last week. Keep it coming James! Chickie's & Pete's 😉 It's a Philadelphia staple.
James, I came across your channel while me and my wife were planning a trip to Las Vegas this upcoming July. We have not been since 2015 and your videos gave us some great insight on what to expect - especially the Palazzo where we will be staying. I have to say, you are doing some incredible travel content and you are a natural when it comes to delivering the do's & don't's at these properties you are staying at. I do hope you keep with this as you are heads and shoulders above what a lot of other travel-related RUclipsrs are doing. Cheers!
Back in 60s and early 70s I used to stay at the Sahara. It had a unique quality that gave it a whole different vibe from other hotels. I guess it was the atmosphere with dancing girls on a stage right behind one of the bars. Plus I loved their coffee shop.
I recently binged your videos and lovin the Vegas content. Good to see more! I go all the time, and I'll be out there next week and plan on putting some of your tips to practice. Keep it coming!
Just started following this channel. I think this is the best edit I have seen thus far. Very well done. I think that every video has to have a good presentation of the environment with medium zoom out and was well incorporated here. I do like the video-in-video portions with your commentary whilst watching the POI. Overall very well done and look forward to your growth on this platform.
Terrific job once again James! Sahara is an amazing value and very underrated as well. I went to the pool Azilo last year in Sept and was blown away. Very cool and hip. Keep up the great work
Although I totally understand the reasoning for your final score, it is an easy 3 (Recommend) for me based off of your ratings system, and I'm boldly predicting when you come back to stay at the Alexandria Tower during the on-season that you'll elevate your rating to 3 or 3.5 then for a couple of reasons. =) Firstly: the Sahara has greatly expanded and renovated their Azilo Ultra pool area. It's actually directly connected with the Casbar Lounge you visited and is said to also have an upscale brunch service accompanying it. It has this sort of Moroccan-inspired theme to it and I think you'll really appreciate that. =) Secondly: the Alexandria Tower rooms are even better than the already likeable standard rooms and have some gorgeous and quirky decor and theming of their own. =) I also think once the Fontainebleu and Majestic both open their doors over these next three years, the admittedly-isolated Sahara will be better connected to other parts of the North Las Vegas Strip. The former in particular could breathe some additional heavy life into the area. =) Another amazing video as always James, yay! =)
It’s because of the renovations the SLS brand did to it. Either way, glad this and the Strat have been renovated and doing good. We need to preserve our iconic hotels instead of imploding them to build new ones...
1000% agree with your review. I'm surprised you didn't book a suite in that tower similar to how I was surprised you didn't at cromwell. I'm always trying to get people to stay at Sahara. Location doesn't bother me since you have westgate, the strat and resorts world near if you want to visit a different property and you have the monorail to get you all the way to mgm if you like. Looking forward to you going back in warmer months and hope you book the suite designed by Lenny Kravitz
@@rn1109 getting a ticket is easy. It's all digital. There's a lil screen and you just turn on nfc on your phone and it scans your pass. I wonder if your Monkey Bar date just found out she's boring?!🤔 I didn't stay at Sahara, but I did drop $450 at Bazaar Meat by myself, but that was with champagne and 2 ounces of Kobe Beef! I love that restaurant! The deconstructed olive was odd but enjoyable. I'm a W Hotels fan via Los Angeles, so I think I'd love the design. I love those re-reflecting in room mirrors! The room was a bit too basic for my taste, but would be acceptable in a better location! Another great video James!
Great video👍 I don't think I've had a chance to visit or see the Saraha. Nice to get a walk-through and review. Looks like you had a nice experience there.
Love the jacket you're wearing in the intro! Another great video. I've been wanting to check Bazaar Meat. I'm heading back to Vegas at the end of March for my bday and we'll see if I can pass up my favorite SW to take a trip to Sahara.

I haven't been to Stratosphere since before the change. What I liked was that it was a bit quitter and easier to park, check in, etc. I will likely go back at some point. We have been staying at more central locations lately.
I never would of considered staying at the Sahara. The last time I had been in the casino was in the early 00's. But after seeing your video and the videos about the decline of the Aria. Which is my usual go to, its going on the short list for my next trip. Thanks for all the great videos.
Hey James, question! For 2 guys doing a 3 night stay, interested in rooms, location, value, and sports bars mostly, would you rather stay at the Luxor or Sahara??? We were leaning Luxor, but your video made it a tough choice! We’ll take your advice!
If you value staying on the main strip area and appreciate easy access to explore Mandalay Bay, Luxor, even though it's a poor strip location (southernmost), If it was me, Sahara 99/100 times - not even close in essentially every other aspect of the property.
Great video, as usual; I completely forgot that Sahara was a thing, so this was really good content to see. Unsolicited advice - if there's a machine that is really calling to you but it won't take your $, you could find any machine that will take it but instead of playing it there, you can cash out and get a ticket which should work in the original machine.
James, excellent review. I saved this one for the drink & food 👌 Wow! can't wait to try these out. definitely will pay it a visit.. thanks to your overview. Hope you found a lucky machine & interesting, in a good way date, LOL.
Great video. Sahara has come such a long way through its Sahara-SLS-Sahara transformation. The room looks amazing and love the ‘circus’ double mirror. $40 for Starbucks?! Really?! Still, not as bad as losing $100 is 40 seconds 😩
They should put you on payroll because you sold the hell out of the Sahara. Most locals dont think highly of the Sahara. But i want to check it out thanks to you☺️
Thank you for sharing this. Really great to learn about this hotel. All places give out unique and innovative vibes except the Starbucks? Loved your video!
Glad you’re back in Vegas. My favorite videos of yours. If you’re willing to do The Strat, does that mean Harrah’s, Flamingo, Excalibur, Luxor, Resorts World, Circus Circus, and Tropicana are next? You gotta finish every strip casino! Don’t limit yourself to only the top tier properties :)
Excellent work! I think you covered it all & objectively. I have only visited the first floor in the off season but it certainly seems room stay worthy. For Starbucks, I can't remember if that location accepted mobile ordering? That could help a little. I also heard there's another on property coffeehouse? Did I hear right, you added shots to a cold brew?!? Jammin! Loved learning about the private rooms at Chickie & Pete's. Could come in handy for soccer or women's sports that never seem to be on the main bar menus. 😅
James my wife and I love your videos. I noticed you haven’t done a review of Aria sky suites. I’ve stayed there a couple times would love to get your input. Going to stay at Encore in July since you gave it such high praise.

Reading the reviews, wifi seems to be a serious issue at the Sahara, unable to stream etc. As a student at the moment, I need properly working wifi. Because of this issue alone, I cancelled my reservation I had. Nice work!!
Okay so I’ve been following you for a while, and this might sound dumb, could you please explain your rating system for me? That room was an old SLS room. Never updated. Not enough bars in this place. Plus the bars that are in there have very little to no video poker in them. Sister property in Reno the Grand Sierra Resort has lots of video poker in all their bars. GSR is so much better.
Stayed in Sahara many, many years ago (early+mid 90's). It's a lot changed since then for sure but the location really is the main detractor. Too many 'interesting' walks to/from the main attractions on the Strip. Fine if you're good to taxi everywhere or if the monorail works for you (if only that had been there in the 90's)

I'd consider staying at the Sahara but have heard mixed reviews. The thing that turns me off isn't the location but I heard the basic rooms are very small and they look kind of a little too "trendy" for my liking where it sort of creeps me out. Not to be mean, but getting plastered during a date, even a boring one, IS rather impolite. 🤔 There is a lot to like about the Sahara, but the location is a major negative if you intend to explore the Las Vegas Strip. But for a weekend trip of relaxing and using the pool, it is a great value.
I don't agree with you. I am a Diamond member at BOTH M.G.M. and Harrahs and the Sahara is a great hotel and the games seem to pay out better than my regular hotels. I sometimes stay at Ballys and tram up to the Sahara and do way better there than on the lower part of the Strip
The Las Vegas monorail starts at the Sahara, I just recently took the monorail from the Sahara to the LinQ, it was easy getting around the strip that way.
How much is it ?
@@tomlewis8522 I think I paid $13 but then later on found out I could have road it for a dollar if I show my local ID.
@@tomlewis8522 I think it's a bit spendy if you're sticking to south/central strip. That's cool to hear that locals get a break on the fare.

Since Diamond levels don't even exist at Sahara or MGM, I absolutely don't agree with you 😎
