  • Possible HIGH COSTS Coming Soon??? 🤔 10 year WARRANTY IF TOYOTA Also couple of factors to consider. It’s much more likely you will have DPF problems with a diesel with a DPF requiring injector replacement also, and the cost total about double a injector replacement of a non-DPF vehicle.

No more Diesels unless you’ve got spare money. Risk it for the biscuit.

Biggest issue with dpf here in Ireland is to many short trips and not enough longer trips allowing them to heat up and clear out properly. I don't like them myself, if you are going to clean out a blocked one, a good bit of oven cleaner into them and leave it soak and then a power wash usually works good.

Toyota are currently doing a DPF replacement free of charge when deemed necessary and it would seem they are extending the warranty on those items until it is replaced.

I've stopped buying diesels since they started fitting dpfs. The first modern diesel I bought went onto limp mode with my family and I miles from anywhere I could get help. I had it fixed under warranty, sold it and bought myself a LC79 V6 4.0 and and FJ with a similar engine. No diesel and no turbo for me if I can help it.

The problem with any car people don’t maintain their vehicles and that will prevent the car to regenerate and that will block the dpf . I do repairs every day on dpf jobs . But on the other hand the euro 6 models are a different matter , even the manufactures have gone to far on the emission side and the customer is paying the price because there’s no help to solve that problem from the dealers . The dealers will run you out of warranty .

They are a bolt on problem, especially if you are a person that does 5/10km low speed /stop start trips to the shops 1/2 a week or less. If you hit the highway every drive for at least 20 minutes per day, they don’t fluff up.

Many makers suggest 2000-2500 rpm for minimum of 20 minutes to achieve that.
Thanks to nature of roads and frequent speed restrictions on main roads around here, that often means holding in a lower gear
Many just won't do that or most don't have a clue

Nothing wrong with how the new Toyota DPF works. They are fine, seen no problems here with our fleet of 50, they dont really do short runs.

The push / mandate for new vehicles will be mostly controlled by the insurance companies through their safety scoring processes which might penalise some and reward others…. Not really sure but maybe this might be or something else…

No big deal, mate. A blocked DPF can be fixed without needing to go to Toyota-the technology is well understood.

Hi, i think too it's ridiculous with their regulations. I have a Skoda Fabia 1.2Tdi 2014, 170,000 km on the engine and got a yellow badge on. Need to replace the EGR bullshit. It's money waste but i do it just because i got the car cheap ass hell and it's worth for me to replace it, even replacing the DPF would be worth it. Now im thinking for my next car to buy in 2 or 3 years i hope. What car do you recommend to have in mind? I'm not picky as long its with no turbos, simple stock to work and from work. I didi most repairs on my previous cars but these newer ones, they place the parts deep inside or back of the engine that i can't get to by my self. I would replace the EGR my self but its impossible for me on this car.
    Greetings from Sweden 😂

    And another recall:
    “SERVICE CAMPAIGNS VGGA1
Diesel Particulate Filter defect can cause white smoke during regeneration, trigger the Indicator Lamp and reduce engine power”
An inconvenience having to leave my Prado at a dealership for the whole day. I cannot get an explanation as to what they need to do.
According to Toyota Australia I do not have sufficient privileges to know what this recall entails; too technical is their reason.
You could have moved the camera to the left to show viewers what this annoying filter looks like.
The pollution I create with my diesel engine is nothing compared to the Israel and USA bombing. Look how much smoke they create; suck up heaps of oxygen too.

I had to trade my commodore in for a new car coz insurance for it was going through the roof plus I was starting to have to replace parts in it so I thought f**k it. I bought a 2024 Toyota Hilux coz it suits my needs. Hope I don't have any problems with it!
