Vacuum bags! Especially because you in NYC with all the coats. I just moved back home to PDX from DFW after 5 years... I can't wait to get my coats back into play but the Vacuum bags will save you THEE most space.

You don't necessarily need to get a vacuum for space saver bags you can get the ones where you can manually push the air out as well.
@@ITSCAROLYNGRAY Some Ziploc vacuum bags come with a manual air pump. So you don't need a vacuum cleaner to use the vacuum bags. I bought mine on Amazon.
Vacuum packing coats is the worst you can do! Please for the love of the coat gods, store them hanging and not scrumbed in a plastic bag or suitcase! You damage the shape of them and you might ruin them for good with wrinkles

U should do the vacuum seal bags for your clothes n then place them in the bin’s… I am a New Yorker raise in Bklyn East Flatbush / n Canarsie so those vacuum bags were the best thing invented.. I moved upstate NY near Woodbury commons in my adult life when my son was 4 but my parents were still in Brooklyn we all left nyc in 2000/2021 to Texas n I’m so happy with my closet space lol but I still have my vacuum bags.. bc I got more ishhh to fill up the closet space.. I have a shopping problem Lmao😂I also use those bags for travel n get space in my luggage.. it also helps with things spilling during travel..the best thing ever get some u will thank later.. Amazon vacuum storage bags the have different sizes..
Lady Carolyn!!!!! I love you. You are open and honest about your space. It’s real for us in the BKLYN, hell in the NYC area no matter the square footage of our floor plan the closet/storage situation is minimal. I LOVE YOUR APPROACH AND HUMOR, you had me laughing i needed that. I also love that you are not a “fashion Girl” in my humble opinion YOU ARE STYLE you wear whatever wherever continue success and staying true to yourself.
I swapped out seasonal 3 weeks ago…( after a massive decluttering May 2023, right after loosing my Sissy/sister two weeks before the start of my total mastectomy?breast cancer journey for the past 12 months) within 5 days before surgery I felt SO FREAKING HEAVY AND JUST HAD THE URGE TO DECLUTTER AND REPAINT MY HOME WHITE and i did. I thought of selling, but to sell off the things means that i would still have them in my position until they are shipped out, I just COULD NOT deal with it at all so i just donated to HOUSING WORKS IN THE CITY (TAGS TAGS and more TAGS) why the hell do we WEll Me bought so much ishhhh? and I had the plastic bins as well BUtttttt I swapped them for the large blue storage bags on amazon also invest in VACUUM BAGS as well THEY ARE STORAGE CHANGING!!! It can be hellllish however i love it (I am an organizer). I selected 2 different playlists play music and have green tea latte on hand😁😁 i truly enjoyed you posts 🌻🌹
I just keep moving my stuff from closet to closet…I’m certain that’s not purging but i just can’t get rid of anymore shoes or coats! Hurts my soul 😢😂. So I’ll just watch and wish from afar as you do it with such flair. ❤ for the Cookie-nation!

Gosh I felt that collapse in my soul. I did this 2 weeks ago. Took me 12hrs and 4 breakdowns. It was pure hell. I felt like Michael Jackson going on tour.

I was going to suggest vacuum bags also. I live in Northern California and I have to do a little switch over and I use vacuum bags for my clothes and my down comforter. One of the best things to own for a stylish person. Buy the bags to store the items.

This reminds me I still have to switch out the rest of my clothes for the summer! I have a 1 bedroom and a storage unit. So it takes just as long! I am going to get some of those vacuum bags that the cookies in the comments have mentioned.
I made my Spring purge when I flipped seaonal items. Made 350 dollars from pieces that I no longer wanted. Donated the rest:}

Hi Carol, I’m an older relatively new Cookie and love your style. Im from Harlem but live in Queens in a older house with a small closet and do this routine all the time but this year I wasnt happy with most of my entire wardrobe especially after losing 25lbs and donated about 12 33 gallon garbage bags of clothes all seasons. I still have some weight to lose but I’ve decided to only keep what I love and what fits me now. I feel so much lighter after getting rid of the clutter and know exactly what I have for the first time yeeeeears. It’s nice to see a content creator living in NYC😊

Gurl!!!! The beginning of the video 😆😂😂😂😂I feel like this seasons closet swap was so much more less stressful than last time even with the extra coats. I have purged about 3/4th of my closet. I organize by silhouette as well, but watching you organize your shoes makes so much sense to have the boxes on top and use up that vertical space.
I think that any time I do a closet flip.... the mood is CHAOS LOL !!! but yes to using vertical space with the shoes! Even the shoe containers I purchased with Carlos for his sneakers are really good!

The opening clip that pops up again 42:11 totally gave me anxiety because I feel ya girl. I am actually doing the same thing because it warm enough for A/C and I still have my winter gear in the living space (I NEED SOME SHORTS!). I will be only evaluating the warm climate items being pulled out for keep or sale because the season is current, and I won't know how I will be feeling about winter items until the season is back. I wish that boost speed work in real life, it would be so easy to get it done. Thanks for giving a laugh but after your video I will have to turn on some music and focus because watching YT is not beneficial to getting thing done. I keep my storage bins stacked sitting on wood pallets for air circulation in the Garage. On top of they too heavy to bring up, I will be getting my stairs workout on. Furs and real leather items will be covered with breathable garment bags (clean sheets would work) and hung on rack in garage that is dry and cool and shoe boxes are in a humongous box that sitting on a large wood pallet to keep off ground. Great content for motivation.

I have a personal issues with short jean shorts..... The inseams on continuously crawl into the womb area and I cant stand it. and I hate having to dig and pull the crotch of the shorts down every 5 seconds of walking. @@ITSCAROLYNGRAY LOVE IT and obsessed! To the Bermuda shorts and I have thrifted quite a few. Denim if they don't fit right is hard on those inner sensitive areas (beware!). Would love a pinterest review by you on the many ways you seen to style them. Yeah yeah I could go out there and search, but why when you can bring it to us with comedic chops and provide where to find them retail for those that not in the thrift world and how to accessorize them. HELP!

Ok this is a brilliant idea because the way my closet is set up with all my fall/winter stuff in my face is just ridiculous and overwhelming 😂😩…I can move them to my guest room closet and open up my closet to my spring/summer clothes 😅!!!

Carolyn Gyrl! I was hoping to get some tips for managing the storage of my clothes but you have less space than me. What did help me was utilizing the space under my bed. I have a 18 ", height bed frame. A lot of bins fit under there. My bed is very high. I have to climb in but my man loves it, if you know what i mean😅
my main tip is to Pray.... pray through the organization and placement of your beautiful clothes and shoes because it can be overwhelming! LOL maybe in the next apartment I will have organization tips since I will be starting fresh... but until then all I can say is pray.... take your time... drink water LOL and allow time for a quick meltdown!
