which to prioritize the COLOR or the clothes TYPE (if they are shirt, sweater, hoodie, jacket) ?

I prioritize by color… but I push all my long clothing to one side of the closet and then color organize with them again. Tanks, tshirts, long sleeves all stay mixed together as long as they are short. Once you get all the long ones to one side (preferably against a wall) you will feel like you have more closet space because the floor is revealed

I do both. Separate by item then color coordinate. Easier to find what I’m looking for that way.

Definitely by type of clothing first. Then by colour second. Been doing it for years now and it's so much more easier getting ready and less overwhelming especially if you have Au/ADHD :)

For men youdont want all matching hangers because we wear suits and for suits or other heavy clothing use wooden hangers
