Could an outer tie rod make a car pull. Control arms all sturdy, inner tie rods no play, but the driver side outer tie rod is gone. Can that make a car pull along with loose steering?
Yes. Without eliminating all play in the steering you can't be sure if there are any other issues. Fix that get the wheel alignment done and see how it runs, before doing wheel alignment, check for play on all 4 wheels & tyre pressures while vehicle is jacked up.
Jeeps in general are notoriously difficult to set up 100% My thoughts are make sure all the simple stuff is done and that all freeplay and tyre pull possibilities are eliminated. After that it's bring it to someone with a quality wheel alignment machine. We use the hunter wheel alignment and it's fantastic. They will check all the settings including camber etc.. And you can see before and after results. If it's a very slight pull sometimes a slight adjustment in the right direction changing the middle spec setting to slightly one or the other side. That can be the difference. Anyways good luck with it all 👍🍀
@@golfish8589 Yes, It was just bad alignment. I tried eyeballing it in my garage. BIG NO NO! I almost crashed at 80mph. Got a professional alignment and the problem vanished. Car drives better than when I bought it, actually.
Have a fairly severe shimmy when braking only on an A3 following a tyre rotation. Just wondering could tyres out of balance cause this alone as it wasn't acting up prior to changing the wheels about--Thanks.
Hey, just want to ask whether the inner tire rod can also be a cause of additional noise when driving? Because my car sometimes also pulls to left side when accelerating, but also I have a bit annoying noise, but it doesn't sound as bad as a wheel bearing. thank you.
Very very doubtful your noise is that. you need to narrow down the elements of the noise. Is it over rough or uneven terrain? is it a continuous noise? does it get louder as you speed up? give a few examples. Noises can be anything from a loose cover to a major component but the type of noise tells a lot on a test drive.
I'll be honest I have no idea what that sound is, it's like humming (when i just roll with pressed clutch from like 60km/h the sound gets deeper the slower the car gets) . Wheel bearings were checked at a repairshop and they seem fine, swerving car to either side doesn't change the sound. And if I'm driving longer routes 100+KM, after a while the sound disappears. Seems like if something warms up, then the sound is gone, but while its cold it makes a noise. Probably sounds stupid, but yea... I'm not sure what else could make the sound ;/
Very hard for me to gauge it off your example, It can be difficult describing noises to mechanics, we are used to most of the different sounds and can find it much easier on a test drive by processing the type of noise (comparing surface sounds) when it occurs (speed, road type etc.) and location of where the noise resonates from. Your best bet will be to bring it to a recommended repairer, he/she should be able to find it for you and price up the job, and also tell you if it a safety concern or not. I hope this helps.
This happens to my Camaro it comes and go tacan this be the problem. Even after I get a alignment and the next day the problem is happening. And anyone help :(
Alignment would not cause this issue, you need to get all possible attaching components checked for freeplay, this type of movement is usually caused by a movement under load causing a weight shift and feedback through the wheel. Bring it in to a trusted repairer for assessment.
Hi mate. Avoiding an accident, i hit the kerb so hard a chunk of the alloy broke, the tire fell off the rim (personally I think that’s due to the shit glue used by the tyre fitter I used, which wasn’t wrong enough for the impact of hitting the kerb, so the alloy sustained the hit rather than the tire which gave way and pushed the alloy up and backwards so much that it bent the control arm + the fender and the tire was stuck to the fender.) this was no light hit, this was almost a write-off, me vs the curb. $$$ later and the cars fine. However, it steers to the left, same side as the accident ^ help :( Btw that’s just me guessing about the glue, I take full responsibility, although previous curb-mounting-accidents in my last car simply pop the tyre n bam, bobs your uncle.
I am in the same boat, i hut a curb and broke my wheel off with the knuckle aand all suspension broke. Body shop fixed everything and now when i dive straight the wheel turn left by itself. Its a 2018 charger. It is now at dodge to get a full diagnostic
Actually if it pulls one way one acceleration and the other way when you let off it more likely the wishbones. So check before you buy the wrong parts!!!!!

I have jeep liberty 2007, its pulling left and right same like this, they change the bushes, control arm, and engine mount but still same pulling.
Jeeps in general are notoriously difficult to set up 100%
My thoughts are make sure all the simple stuff is done and that all freeplay and tyre pull possibilities are eliminated.
Anyways good luck with it all 👍🍀
did you find a solution
My problem is I just installed BRAND NEW tie rods on both sides, and it CREATED the pulling left/right under/off load problem.
did you find a solution
you probably used cheap parts
@@golfish8589 Yes, It was just bad alignment. I tried eyeballing it in my garage. BIG NO NO! I almost crashed at 80mph. Got a professional alignment and the problem vanished. Car drives better than when I bought it, actually.
@@greatestcity19 Oem parts. And they weren't the problem. See my previous post.
Mines is doing the same thing but at lower speeds it's very very dangerous
I replaced inner tier rods and a bad wheel bearing on my car , but my car still pulls left , and steering wheel shakes around 80 mph
Did you fix the problem?
@@cartercarter1085 update , the rear wheel bearings was also bad , car is in the shop till Monday . Hopefully that will fix the problem 😜
What was the issue
@@marconieto8552 You’re 4 years late bro , car had bad wheel bearings all 4 were replace ! G35…
Hello Does this Also Apply for Mitsubishi Lancer ES 1.6L 2002.? My Rear Tires Are Getting Bold in the Inner Ware. 🙇♀️🤦♀️
Thank You
No you need new tires lol
Raise the rear end and check the bearings for play. Whilst it's up make sure the wheels spin freely (no binding)
cool vid bro might help me least i know where to look, but our clip after shows the cam pointed down you can't see the road just our speedometer.
Have a fairly severe shimmy when braking only on an A3 following a tyre rotation. Just wondering could tyres out of balance cause this alone as it wasn't acting up prior to changing the wheels about--Thanks.
Rotate them back first and if the issue goes away you are left with a rim or tyre issue. I hope this helps
Very well explained thank you
Hey, just want to ask whether the inner tire rod can also be a cause of additional noise when driving?
Thanks for the insightful reply!
I will follow your advice!
i replaced the tie rods because they where shot but there’s still play even after alignment it’s not as bad but definitely still there
This happens to my Camaro it comes and go tacan this be the problem.
I have a vivaro 2015 and it’s getting same issue

How much it is for
TIES RODS WASN'T THE ISSUE ON MINE
My car does it at high speed only. When turning left, the steering wheel doesn't return to complete center. Right turning is fine.
Thanks for video need more like this big thumbs up 👍
Cheers Stephen
How much IT cost?
About £12 each side
Same problem with my mk4 Jetta

Yes thanks so much it helped
Very useful thank you very much
Thank man you help a lot
Mines great just accelerating normally no boost
Hit the boost it’s pulsing sideways repeatedly
Only just bought it
ThankYou

However, it steers to the left, same side as the accident ^ help :(
Btw that’s just me guessing about the glue, I take full responsibility, although previous curb-mounting-accidents in my last car simply pop the tyre n bam, bobs your uncle.

I am in the same boat, i hut a curb and broke my wheel off with the knuckle aand all suspension broke. Body shop fixed everything and now when i dive straight the wheel turn left by itself. Its a 2018 charger. It is now at dodge to get a full diagnostic
Best bet is not to have it out with a Kurb they best to be left alone
This is a wandering steering problem video, not a pulling to one side problem.
Actually if it pulls one way one acceleration and the other way when you let off it more likely the wishbones. So check before you buy the wrong parts!!!!!
After reading your comment i noticed my 2006 Honda Accord EX Coupe does exactly this. After an alignment it seems only slightly better. Those cunts saw something and didnt mention it. Time to take it to the honest pro mechanic. I would love to share the diagnosis with everyone as this shit is frustrating as hell.
Thanks but you just jump you to show us how to remove and put it
No wonder it’s all messed up. Damn steering wheel is on the wrong side.
