You have some great driving skills and did excellent for your first run with the Typhon. I only have a 3s Typhon but it's plenty of fun. I might pick up a 6s BLX and a 4s pack. I'm not that good of a driver so 4s should be plenty and the car will probably hold up well. I should go back a watch you run with the Losi and see what that looks like. I would love to have the Losi 8 but it's a bit more money and not really something I can justify at this time. Maybe some day. Thanks for sharing your run. Always fun to watch your videos.

The TLR TYPHON is the first of a dozen to survive my city bashing. Been an awesome rig the past 3 yrs. Was fun racing at the local track. Mine is extremely modified with lights and upgrades.

Just a FYI for posterity: The TLR team had nothing to do with the build of this kit (HH just used the branding to sell since it's a familiar name). The entire car was an old design during the Team Durango days called the DEX-8 racing buggy, the predecessor to ARRMA before the branding change. If you check the part numbers, the Team Durango parts still work on it as well as other 1/8 E-Buggy parts from different brands,. I use my "TLR" Typhon for 1/8 Buggy racing, but it needs a serious weight loss because they beefed up on the chassis as if it was still a basher.

I respectfuly disagree. My brother in law is with horizon, and they indeed worked hand in hand with TLR. Thats one main reason there is more TLR stamps than Arrma ya know.

But youre absolutley right about the weight loss

3:30 Those pieces are the rear wing Wicker Bills adjust the downforce or wing breaking. It's for tuning different track conditions. They can help when you have jumps that are always being scrubbed.

I adore my TLR , Such a awesome Basher / Race orientated buggy . Ive been able to beat the snot out of it and it just keeps coming back for more . There fast and keep you on your toes , found mine to be very stable for bashing about as well .

Can't believe you've never driven an Arrma Typhon 6s before. I've got the standard V5 RTR and the TLR roller. These are the toughest Arrmas I've owned. Definitely more a basher than a racer but is still capable around a track. These are so much better than the 3s variant.
Edit - surprised it broke albeit a minor one. Shock rod ends are a weak point, one of the few.

I may have driven a Typhon on a dirt track kind 7-8 years ago, I honestly can’t remember. But I’m enjoying this buggy a lot.

A Truggified Typhon TLR is the ultimate skate park basher or ramp basher. The stubby arms short chassis and bigger tires made it so much fun. It is a tank. I have the original TLR roller and it has taken so much abuse at my local skate park. The only thing I have changed was the chassis and shock towers from being worn down from the concrete or bent. Everything else has been solid. Oh, and the wing mount. That broke but I put an RPM one and it's been fine since.

Love this buggy! It’s much better with 4s electronics though, shorter motor will reduce a bit of weight from the rear which is very noticeable. Light electronics and better tires and it’s good

In my opinion the TLR Typhon is an rc that's kind of stuck in the middle. It is a good basher. But with the lightened chassis it is not very durable. It is an OK racer. But needs significant tuning to make it a true racer. I think this puts it in an odd category where serious racers don't consider the Typhon. But serious washers don't either. My 1st rc was a TLR. At the time I didn't know and or understand what I do now. I thought it was a high end rc. But as you stated it is closer to what would be an EXB Typhon. I love the Typhon platform. I think it makes very good starting point for an ultimate basher. You can beefcake it as much as you want. And the chassis is what the Outcast is based on. So if you ever want to just transition to a truck just put Kraton parts on it. Nevertheless the TLR Typhon kind of doesn't make sense. I think it appeals to those who are new to the hobby.

I just ordered the roller too. Then I went kind of nuts… Vitavon has that titanium colored 7075 kit for the Typhon TLR😳. That gears and pins. I bought it all. It’s even got purple anodized pillow ball fasteners. I’ve decided to just do this one right. Bad ass servo. Castle 2200kv motor and momba monster X esc.

I had that setup when came out except hobbywing and 1900kv and I want another to compare to the Losi but like razor said it’s like Mike Tyson and Losi mayweather 😂 but is that just because we over powered the typhon , they’re just more Braun cheaper but heavier duty , they’re bashers and ultimately up to the driver especially on a track , Adam drake will smoke us with a outcast 😂

    • @RazorRC
      @RazorRC  2 месяца назад +3

Well, then I would have to put 7075 parts on the Losi. 🤷‍♂️. I’m just going to compare stock $630 car vs stock $630 car.

@RazorRC lol Yea true. Didn't think about that lol Both cars seem a brilliant way to get into 1/8 racing if running a sensored motor in the Typhon.

Ha! Literally just woke up yesterday my hobby store called that mine showed up. I got one when it first came out but later raided it for the hinge blocks to put on a speed run car way before scorched rc offered something similar. Been watching your corally vids and it got me missing the tlr Typhon. I'd be interested in a tuning video if you do happen to mess with your hinge blocks and tell us what you think about the shocks . Thanks bud!

iv had mine for year+ now. Put the Max 8 and 2250kv in it. i find it not that necessary to run 6S. 4S has plenty. My pet peeve is after finding the week points and added accordingly upgraded parts to make it durable. My issus now is a set of wheels to last jumping the rig. i have broke most wheels that fit the truck. i found running 6S backflips was awesome. but of course the extra weight made things break again. if you have an idea for wheels would be greatly appreciated. ps.I quit launching it and just ground pounding it. you have a great place to run your rigs.

I was about to order this and woke up to an ebay notification Thursday morning from Horizon Hobby that the blue 6s Infraction was marked down another $100 to $448. Decided to grab another one of those instead. I figure it's better to save $200 than $80 and now I've got a backup body and a 6s chassis for a project of some type.
I think i might grab an TC XLR roller since Arrma isn't ever gonna build a 1/5 Typhon. I was really hoping we'd get a new Arrma announcement from Arrmageddon.

@@trashbag8124 the Horizon Hobby ebay store. I just checked and they have 1 left. It's $448.99. Mine was delivered yesterday. It was a touch over 72 hours from clicking order until it was on my steps. It's only the blue one. The gray is still $549. I thought it was a mistake when I first saw it. It wasn't an open box or return either. Both the brown box and the regular shelf box still had the factory seals. Also I noticed when I opened it that it had the new V2 ESC and servo from the Bigrock and Kraton EXB in it.

I would enjoy your videos even more if you always included a segment displaying the owners manual to vehicle where you had camera zoomed in to display more of every page to also wait 1 second or close with every 2 pages of manual fully on screen as it would provide viewers with a opportunity to pause and read pages if desireds. I love your videos but when manual displayed it is not close to provide a chance to pause and read it. If the manual were laid on table instead and fold pages to next poage while being stationary with camera also mounted stationary. It would be less challenging to read it. Gr8 video as usual. ty. ruclips.net/video/h6fTk4gImvs/видео.html
