And that's why during the ending the alien didn't wanna Leave so u had to push him into the ship.. That's because he didn't wanna leave the city because Saddie.
And There is a corrupt cop Easter egg too where the cop has orders from Kinsler to kill the doc. Then the cop tries to kill u and Virgil is there with u and everything
Fun fact, Kinsler is voiced by John Patrick Lowrie, the voice actor of the sniper from Team Fortress 2 and citizens from half life 2.
I am also very certain that at 35:44 , the person saying "Somebody answer that damn Phone" is Dennis Bateman, the voice actor for the spy from TF2.
Even in hundreds of years into the future those mercenaries sure know how to show up in some other way.
Kinsler: *gets torn to pieces*
Everyone: “YOU GET WHAT YOU FUCKING DESERVE”
Me and my buddy started HOLLERING when it happened. Just "YEAH YEAH. GET HIM."
The voice acting is so good for these, I was so intrigued to find all of them to see how the story ended.
You know the pictures of kinsler look so deep fried that it would have been funny if it wasn't in the context of a man getting ripped apart
It's still pretty funny just cause the man getting ripped apart is Kinsler.
Crime doesn't pay
If they made a live action movie of this It would be amazing.
Sadie and Vergil reappear in the books Halo New Blood and Halo Bad Blood which feature Alpha Nine, Buck's squad. They are very prominently in Bad Blood which takes place after Halo 5 and gets the band back together aside from the Rookie who is dead. Sadie became Vergil's handler following these events due to the Engineer retaining the AI's fondness for her and they join Alpha Nine on a classified mission against the Created in Bad Blood. In New Blood, Alpha Nine has to rescue them from Insurrectionists, a mission that reveals Mickey as a traitor. Which makes Buck pissed when he has to break Mickey out of prison in Bad Blood (featuring a cameo by Jun from Halo Reach) and they have to work together again. Mike's ultimate fate is unknown though as he's never seen or mentioned again.
@@WarGrowlmon18 I heard he became the police chief or hey could have joined the army to help Sadie
Wow, i didn't expect to get this invested into this story, absolutely spectacular!

there are great substories told within this even. in the opening train sequence we hear a husband and wife have a conversation. when the train blows up we hear the wife yell "my husband was on board" but then later on we hear the husband yell "has anyone seen my wife"
Personally, I hope they reunited in some way, in this crazy universe.
Genius concept. A bonus story within the story campaign.
Listened to the whole thing and it was worth every second
I really wish that Sadie and Mike reunited with Virgil in ODST 😥 Such a sweet sad story
It's in one of the books that she's Virgil's handler working for ONI iirc

WarGrowlmon18 nobody cares about badly written books.
Mitch H They aren’t at all badly written, I am reading them right now and I find them to be connective tissue of the highest quality
@@rite.3839 Halo would be so much more confusing without the books. And generally, they are all of much higher quality than a lot of other expanded material.
It's so cool that in Halo New Blood, Sadie actually gets to meet Vergil (the Engineer) after the ODSTs rescue him, as well as Buck and co. Love Halo's side stories man they make the lore so rich.
Meet??? No, she's his handler. They're both in Halo Bad Blood as well. "Office of Naval Intelligence. Fallen heroes on the air." I love that Vergil knew Dare was going to lead a group of ODSTs to retrieve him.
27:30 well I mean he’s not entirely wrong...
Well ya the covenant want to "help" everyone by light the rings but the profits were power hungry and wanted to save the covenant so they said " kill humanity" and by the end of the war half of what left of the covenant just helped humanity and rekt the covent so ya it was just curuped leadership and brutes
Then again the covenant did not know that humanity was om earth😂
@@anidiot2284 Actually, according to the AI the covenant used to ask about the foreunners, apparently humans were the chosen ones by the foreunners. The Prophets learned this and didn't tell anyone else because it would make them no longer the leaders, so they set out to kill all humans so they'd never lose power.
Yeah but at the same time the prophets knew nothing of the Halo rings. They legitimately thought they were on a path to the Divine Beyond.
Actually the Prophets knew all about the rings. Truth, Mercy and Regret knew exactly what the rings would do, however exposing that secret would destroy the covenant. Read Contact Harvest, it states it in that book
Still one of the best pieces of content within the Halo games
Really adds such a new dimension to the opening combat drop
48:01 was the greatest payback in halo
man its impressive and surprising to see so much effort being put just in the audio logs
10:05 I always liked the way this guy said "kabab".
This is dark as hell.
Funny bc It's based on the Dantes Inferno which is Dantes journey into actual hell
It's based upon Dante's Inferno that's why it has mature themes.
The ending always gets me all choked up, "I am not worth - Your life - my Brave Warrior Princess" "I need you to live, for me" "Sadie, you've made me so proud."
Superintendent was sadies cortana
Wow so cool how this links up with the main ODST story. I just had to play it again to understand all the references
Now I know why there were police in the underground
Thank you for putting this together and posting. Its appreciated.
I think it’s incredible, the shear terror of the situation, they’re counting on the Marines to come and save them, and yet, someone even greater is on his way, after destroying an entire carrier!!!!
I finally know the whole story..after so many years I can rest easy now
Discovering these and retracing Sadie's steps really immerses you into the atmosphere of the eerily empty city.
I found 20 of these just vibing around the city in a casual playthrough recently and they legitimately had me hooked. What a good little story.
Can't believe it took me about a decade to realize this is a retelling of Dante's Inferno
wait, what?
@@jacobrobinson787 yeah man, the terminals are divided into circles, the antagonists of each section represent a different sin, and on top of all of that, the guide for both the player and Sadie is named Virgil
which really matches the whole point of the data center. because you need to go down sub level 9, and it's covered with ice, with a bad cop. exactly is Dante speaks to the traitors in the ice, at the ninth circle of hell
Thank you for compiling these clips together this made me cry in 2022
2:29 I remember seeing this when I was young and I believe this is one of the first few instances that actually scared me. I recall seeing this and asking my brother (who was probably watching) How big is that covenant cruiser (I probably didn't call it a covenant cruiser though) and he answered that it was bigger than the corvette that we exploded in halo reach. the specific image right there really gives a big perspective on how big the covenant force was. I recall being scared of continuing the game after that, and I didn't play it for years, than I picked it back up and had fun again. Just figured I'd tell this story.
That's either a CSO or CAS Class Carrier. The largest capital ships in the Covenant armada.
damn that was sad...
This looks like the deleted script from Cloverfield
Dude thats exactly what i was thinking
I might actually watch this.
*Sauce of your profile pic?*
The part with kinslar at the end just far beyond explainable
Officer Mike Bradley is such a chad
35:45 is that the spy from tf2?
Probably, his voice actor (Dennis Bateman) plays Tom the salesman in this. He also voices Demoman
“YOUR TAXDOLLARS AT WORK” and “BRIDGE TOLL ACCEPTED. HAVE A PLEASANT TRIP.” are the best Vergil quotes
God speed Jonas you magnificent bastard
Wow~~~ That last audio clip actually got me to cry. Damn....

"My job."

That was genuinely the best part of the whole thing for me, loll
Looking back on it odst had the best story and attention to detail I’ve ever seen with all of its characters having amazing traits that make you love them and a side story that could be turned into a movie it really makes me think that this was the golden age of gaming
so live action of this?
Ah yes we get to see a guy get torn apart...
That shit would be so R rated
“If I don’t get you who will?” “The office of naval intelligence YOUR TAX DOLLARS AT WORK!”
Can we reassign Vergil from Mombasa to Caboose? Give Caboose his own AI Army. Vergil inside his helmet, Freckles inside his Mantis, and Shiela in the Tank.
*happy squee from me*
When the VA for caboose is no longer in Rooster teeth.
The butcher was the most humble man. "I'm not worth five people!"
Ahh fuck..I teared up.. hope Jonás is safe and gets a back story in another dimension and continue this story
there is no harder line than "NEXT STOP -- MAKUPA, NAIROBI ROAD, HOPE STATION, And beyond"
What I find crazy is that the Covenant had Mombasa locked down, nobody in or out - and yet these civilians managed to get away on perhaps the sole remaining train in the city, with the Covenant not even noticing. Surely some Banshees or such would've saw the train and went after them... Unless, the train was going underground.
Subway- It is going undergound
Whenever Virgil cried like a puppy I got scared because I thought a puppy was shot by the covenant for a second
At one point a Wraith shoots an Olifant, and in the game during Mombasa Streets it is possible to see one with its top seemingly blown off. The attention to detail.

I managed to find all but one on my own and was really frustrated when I found out that the one I was missing was near an area I had searched multiple times but I guess I had never gone down that particular street because I would have noticed the road blocks popping up.
When i played it i searched all over the city until i knew that you get the last one in the tunnels spent hours until i finished the game and there it was
Thanks for saving me for like 3 minutes
Even in the face of extinction, humanity still can find reasons to turn on each others instead of common enemy
The same with insurrection groups like the UEG that continued fighting the UNSC despite the Covenant fighting ALL OF HUMANITY.
"Open the doors." Such beautiful words.
Yay I'm so happy Mike lived!
"Office of Naval Intelligence. . . Fallen heroes on the Air. . ." Can Vergil predict the ODST drop or is that just me?
I think he was aware of UNSC forces. Dare was mentioned in the phone call so maybe he was listening to comms?

That’s most likely what Vergil meant by that
So basically the engineer helped saved the program, which resulted in the saving of everyone.

Who else wants an animated adaptation of this? I know as this it has a certain charm, but I really want to see someone build on the stories ODST gave us.

The theories are right it’s totally a halo take on Dante’s inferno
Fun fact, Earth's population went from about 11 billion down to 200 million during the invasion
That’s mostly due to evacuations.
That doesn't make sense, the Covenant only glassed Africa - and even that was because a Flood spore was there.
@@mohammadqasimawais9155It wasn’t even Africa in general it was only around the portal and voi. They did invade other parts of Earth but rarely glassed.
