Joyce: pace yourself because you have an enormous responsibility! You take care of your husband and children's needs everyday. Cleaning the house, cooking (inside and out). You help your husband in the kitchen shamba and cleaning of the compound. Washing clothes, folding, putting away. Responsibilities of a vlogger. And on top of that, you work at the salon! My goodness sister Joyce, that's a lot! So, if you skip the kitchen after supper occasionally , it's very understandable. You and Peter work very well together. Blessings to you and your family ❤❤❤❣️

Joyce, here in the USA there are a lot single black women that take care of their homes and children by themselves without the help of a man in their homes every single day. I can say this because I raised four very successful children into adults by myself. I did have my parents help along the way. But mainly I did it on my own. As a single parent it was hard, but we preserved. I am so proud of them, and of myself. You and Peter are examples of how I was raised in a two parent household. You guys work really hard together and I love your spirit doing it 💜 😊

Also you can use alcohol rub and vinegar.. it's make the best DIY glass cleaner, but the alcohol rub is an awesome DIY disinfectant. You just have to use the 91%, not the regular 70%. You find it in the medicine section. Fun fact: it's really inexpensive, well here in the USA, it is ❤❤❤

Hi Joych and Peter buy a soft brush to clean the windows and glass. A mop for the floor will be better for your back, like the broom.

In most African homes that's how we are used to moping😂
Joyce, if you place a cloth under your container holding your dishes it will catch the excess water and help to keep your wood dry from damage.

Joyce my family and I live in the USA for the past 35 yrs we are Africans we still do all the chores we eat out once a month and the rest of the month we cook at home our regular African food so there is no difference for us week days we only eat dinner at home but week ends we cook breakfast porridge, lunch rice , veg ect ect and dinner as well we cook and eat together.

A little help with your house chores, whenever the family eats are prepareing meals, the dishes often wash after each meal and that will make it easier for you, also teach your daughters to do the dishes in the evening before bedtime and that means your kitchen will always be clean and ready for the next day, as a child growing up we could not go to our bed and have dirty dishes in the kitchen, everything have to be clean and ready for the next day. That will prevent rodents. Happy to see your husband chipping in and helping great job you both. God bless your family and your beautiful home ❤🙏🏾

You know Joyce .. I have an idea.. if you use a broom to sweep the dirt out then any mop or even the wiping will be much easier and effective . Also I like to use spray vinegar direct on the floor before mopping. Sometimes with baking soda. It makes counter tops and floors super clean!

Drain the water very well before putting the pots and pan up the water on wood it will cause mildrew and mildrew is not good. Get cloth to dry the dishes and utensil

When I was growing up ,I mopped the kitchen floor like you do. My dad said it doesn't come as clean with a mop.
Good morning, friends. I enjoy watching home interior and exterior improvements shows. If and when you are able to get a washing machine, dishwasher, it will make your household chores so much easier. When will you be able to have hot water inside of your home? White vinegar and baking soda is a great cleaning combination to use. To keep your bananas from going bad, put aluminum foil on each stem tightly and place in the refrigerator. Keep a small box of baking soda inside of your refrigerator and that will help with odors.🙏❤️🇺🇸

Joyce, the fridge will have to be checked by an electrician before using as all those hanging wires from that white box inside seems unsafe. Remember water and electricity current don't go together so next time you do a thorough clean like that you'll need to switch off the current by unplugging it first.

You can clean your refrigerator with bicarbonate of soda because it was closed and not working for some time it produces a funny smell

Joyce, charcoal draws moisture. So when you put the charcoal in the refrigerator it will draw any moisture that's in the fridge when the door is close and it will help to prevent odor and mildew.

I see that you wash your eggs. Here in the USA, when we get fresh eggs from our chicken, we do not wash them unless we are going to refrigerate them right away. Chicken lay eggs with a protective covering on them that preserves them until we use them. What is your opinion on that?

Good team work. If refrigerator is not working, keep door open so it can air out & not get stinky. Hope it will be working soon. Vinegar is always good for cleaning. I clean my wood & tile floors with a little vinegar in bucket of water & some squeezed lemon juice or orange juice in it for nice smell.

Mops only work to wash the floor they do not pick up the clumps or dirt. One must sweep or vacuum the floor before mopping. The spin mop you had would have worked if you had swept the floor before mopping.

Just a bit of advice, spread a towel under your dish rack to collect the access water, and this will prevent damage to your countertop.
You can then wash the towel like once a week.
I spread one each time I wash my dishes. Cabinets are expensive.
You guys work together very well.
