I am also a fellow barista and another good trick for making one of these drinks if you have o e of the fancy machines is to steam the cinnamon in with the milk. And if you don’t have a fancy expressi machine you can steam milk on the stove in a regular sauce pan it just might not get very foamy and you can mimic the taste of expresso by rebrewing the same cup of coffee or by steeping a regular amount of coffee grounds you would use to make a full cup in about 2oz of water like a coffee tea bag
Tuesday was my 30th birthday & I got myself the Breville Barista Express when it was on a big sale a few months ago as my gift! It is THE BEST! I’m still figuring out how to do latte art, but I got the cappuccino foam down (that part is way easier)! Thanks for the distraction during these quarantine times, your video made me smile while I drink my morning latte 😊
My dream first job is to be a barista. I really REALLY want am espeesso machine witha steam wand and I REALLY want to learn latte art. You are such a fantastic youtuber and give me that window to my passion. Keep up being the sunshine you are!
How long were you told it takes for espresso shots to “die”? I know I was lied to by my first barista job that was corporate *coughstarbuckscough*. I work at a sweet little local shop now and we’ve found as long as it still has a head it works but when you stir it it’s harder to tell? Does this question even make sense?!?
General rule of thumb we used to use is that a hot shot can last 5 mins before you lose the body and you lose your crema. Try and use fresh shots for all your coffee, ofc, but in particular you definitely still want that rich crema for lattes so *only* use fresh shots for those. Edit: this is the first time I've heard of the Starbucks method, we don't have very many Starbucks stores here (it actually failed the first time it set up in 2000 because Australian coffee culture is very different to starbucks corporate practice) and I'm lowkey amazed how that company still operates.
Jessie, depending when you worked, circa '07 the verismo espresso machines during that period were these half automatic machines that they swore the shots died (they did taste pretty bad after 10 sec) but after those machines were replaced, the whole 10sec thing went away but most people still had it memorized and kept passing outdated information to the new baristas.
There is no a solid rule. It depends on many factors (Coffee processing method, roasting profile, and many other factors). Crema is a good sign of how fresh your espresso is. So, if you see crema disappeared then probably it's too late. Generally , always get everything ready before you start brewing your espresso.
I randomly came across this video in the middle of the night and I had to try this out right away. It's super yummy!!! I also made it for my mom in the morning and she loved it too. I hope you come out with more videos like this, exploring different flavors and concoctions! :)
