Something i really love about Morgan is that she’s not a coffee purist. I swear, in all of her recipe videos, she says something along the lines of “you are valid for drinking sweet milk drinks.” Not everyone likes coffee for the taste, they like the caffeine lol.
Yeah I love that about Morgan! Also (like for me) some people DO generally like the taste of coffee, but like it even better when it's mixed with a bit of milk and sugar. Like, barely anyone likes 100% cacao chocolate but when chocolate is made with sugar and milk and all that stuff it's delicious. So I really don't get the "you're only a valid coffee drinker if you drink it black" I should still be able to say that I like coffee without having to defend the way I drink it.
@@saturn446 in the gaming community this is called gatekeeping. Most people get into coffee via sweet milky drinks... and even those of us who mostly drink pourover coffee black still enjoy a little flat white once in a while.
Totally. I feel like many coffee influencers give off the impression that only black coffee drinkers are "true/valid" coffee drinkers. When in reality, if you talk to baristas. Many of them just like working with flavours. And when there's any "omg you wanna add milk/sugar!?" freak-out, It's usually because the person ordered some expensive, specially processed single origin bean that'll taste like less fancy/complex bean, or taste worse once you add milk or sugar, so they're really just crying for your wallet and tastebuds
I'm a now-sober ex-bartender and idk why I've never considered doing the same sorts of things with coffee. I'm such a lush with my food, but have always just french-pressed my coffee. I can't wait to try making these - thanks for uploading 😁!
My dad used to put evaporated milk in his coffee every morning-- it's like condensed milk but without any added sugar. (He's still with us-- he's just switched over to drinking tea now that he doesn't have to get up at the break of dawn 😂)
I just had a shaken sea salt latte with sweetened condensed milk from a Vietnamese coffee bar and it seriously ELEVATED the iced latte game for me. I had no idea you could use evaporated milk, or even use shakers for coffee drinks

Café Touba from Senegal! 🇸🇳 Coffee beans roasted with grains of selim (similar sort of black pepper) and sometimes with cloves, then ground up and brewed! A traditional West African drink
Omg yes, a coffee using gin aromatics could be so interesting. Tricky to keep the coffee from overpowering the other flavours tho, maybe more doable with a tea or matcha situation?
great drink ideas! also, if anyone wants to make the second drink vegan, condensed coconut milk exists but it'll obviously bring the coconut flavor into the drink too
I'm a person who strongly dislikes the taste of coconut but condensed coconut milk (at least for me) does not have that same flavour as other coconut things :3 Especially when combined with coffee and/or spices it is very inoffensive for my tastebuds!
@@raspberryfawn Steve1989 is another youtuber who does primarily mre reviews. One of his catchphrases is "let's get this out onto a tray, nice!". He's very chill and fun to watch.
For spices to pair with coffee, one I highly recommend that most people likely have not tried before is grains of selim. It's a common combination in Senegal. It would work great in the sweetened condensed milk latte in this video, though you might want to run it through a sieve after grinding if you're going to use the powder directly in the drink. I normally grind it and mix it with the coffee grounds when making aeropress coffee and then mix that with warmed whole milk and sugar or vanilla syrup.
I'm also a big fan of sweetened condensed milk... I don't have an espresso machine but I do like vietnamese iced coffee (cafe sua da) when I get it in restaurants, so I got myself a couple of phins (metal pour-over filters) and condensed milk to make it. However, when I'm in a hurry in the morning I'll just make some instant coffee, and I've found that a scoop of condensed milk (or a squeeze when I can find it in a squeeze bottle) makes a great fast addition to that, too.
For a bit of history, condensed milk keeps longer than fresh milk, so is much more cost effective. Additionally, high quality coffee is expensive, and commodity coffee isn't very tasty. But being resourceful, you can combine the cheap condensed milk with the cheap coffee to make something delicious. Cuban coffee is a similar sort of "rescue coffee" using brown sugar. Recognizing the necessity behind the drinks gives you something to think about, and to be thankful for our privilege to choose.
This is the first time I've commented on a video in actual years because I thought this might be helpful in the case of the sweetened condensed milk. You can weigh the container and measure what you're taking out (it'll be negative of course) instead of weighing the vessel and measuring what you're putting in. Then you can mix with the spoon without worrying about cleaning off excess first, measure things that are a little more difficult to maneuver, and see that you're over-measuring before it ever hits the final vessel so you don't need to go back and take out the extra. May not be perfect in this situation if you drip it somewhere between the container and the vessel but as someone who counts calories and likes to lick peanut butter off the spoon, this is information that I keep in the back of my mind.
A few days ago I had cheerios oat crunch for a quick breakfast and still had left over oat milk in my plate. If you can find it in Portland, just shake a double shot of espresso with a single shot of Licor 43 and serve over ice and garnish with a pinch of cinammon. The liquor has a really nice, mellow vanilla and citrus taste that pairs incredibly well with coffee. Also, Morgan, if you do find Licor 43 in Portland, let me know which store carries it. I work at a café, but I only recently started having iced coffee sometimes. What I'll do is put syrup in the glass and then mix the espresso and roll it between the cup and the glass a few times to mix and cool a little. Then ice, then milk. As a kid I would keep the milk jug with me to carefully ration milk into my bowl as I ate the cereal. I'd try to eat it as quickly as possible so it wouldn't get soggy or dissolve all the sugar off the cereal and leave me with the dreaded cereal milk 😂 Even as a kid who loved sugar I found it way too sweet! Strange to think its a coffee drink. That aside - super strong, refreshing Vietnamese iced coffee with a spoon of condensed milk is deeeeeelicious.
if you like cold drinks but not icecubes you can chill the cup and put the fresh shots in it. this also slows them from dying. just make sure it is a material that can handle big temperature differences (like pyrex)!
Some nice ideas to up my coffee game, thanks. I would not toast or roast anything near the ignition point of paper (451°F). Dropping the temp by 50° and adding an extra three to four minutes to your time, will make this process less stressful.

Something to consider when it comes to adding a frothy head to the top of a drink, dry shake with an egg white included in the ingredients. Doesn’t change the flavor at all but will increase that frothiness! This is done in lots of cocktails 😊 anywho back to watching this great video.

Sweetened condensed coconut milk is a great vegan alternative and it is very easy to find at most US supermarkets now both in the canned/boxed milk area as well as in the "international" area. You can make a really delicious caramel with it as well.
@@ticklishpineapples Just like regular sugar-based caramel, you can do just coconut milk but also add sugar, salt, butter, etc. to make it more to your liking. There are lots of varying recipes out there for it. I would say go with the one that seems most similar to a regular caramel you would like.
Sweetened condensed oat milk is pretty good too! I tried condensed coconut recently too but it had separated a bunch and I wasn't a huge fan. The oat is pretty close in texture to dairy 👍

A lemonade suggestion: you can make a very good lemonade syrup by dissolving lemon oleo saccharum in lemon juice (I like a cup or two of sugar for the zest and juice of 6 lemons), goes great in sparkling water, so I imagine adding some cold brew as well would be fabulous!

Have been enjoying your short forms... But omg love your presentation style in this longer form space too!
Appreciate the energy you bring here!
The "nice" at 1:47 made me laugh. Thanks for the great ideas in this video!
Lavendar and Vanilla syrup with the Sparkling Arnold Palmer is really good. Also, you can make the condensed milk latte as an iced coffee by just shaking up cold brew or cold coffee with condensed milk and ice :)
Hahahahaha! That "Let's get this out onto a tray... nice!", good reference.
Oooh thanks for the inspo Morgan! I actually bought a specialty pack of Swiss Miss with Lucky Charms as marshmallows, but quickly realized I didn’t like as much as I did when I was little. Maybe I can try making cereal milk with them, so none of it goes to waste ❤
I love Morgan, she has such good energy.
Just made the shaken vanilla latte and oh my word. I would have never thought to shake it up but my word does it make the final product so much more smooth! 😍
i always find myself watching your videos but never committing to making the drinks lol
just wanted to say that your voice is very soothing and sometimes i have your videos playing while i work or just to fill in the silence :))
This is my first time hearing Morgan's voice! I've been watching their shorts for months, but this is my first full length vid 😊
Would love to see a vanilla guide/review/etc where you talk about different syrups/pastes/beans/brands and which to use when!
I love your cafe shorts, and your long form videos are also so fun and calming! Thanks for the video
I work at a café, but I only recently started having iced coffee sometimes. What I'll do is put syrup in the glass and then mix the espresso and roll it between the cup and the glass a few times to mix and cool a little. Then ice, then milk. It doesn't look like there's that much dilution, but also milk is for dilution. I just wouldn't really notice unless it was a huge amount

Fun tip to open up hard things: lightly release the pressure in the lid with a knife (under the lid)
Had no idea as to who you were when I found this video, but was immediately drawn to your look, followed you, then you said you made lattes, and it clicked: I already follow you on TikTok. Had no idea about your channel. Needless to say, I'm happy I came across this. Definitely subbed. Thanks for the video.
Love this. Please make more. Especially with espresso. Cold ice drinks. I’m definitely gonna try that cocktail mix drink

I have learned so friggen much from you in how to make a great drink for myself. Thank you!
Something to consider when it comes to adding a frothy head to the top of a drink, dry shake with an egg white included in the ingredients. Doesn’t change the flavor at all but will increase that frothiness! This is done in lots of cocktails 😊 anywho back to watching this great video.

Morgan and james hoffman are my fav combo for leveling up my coffee game ❤
The way you introduce actually feels like a friend is talking with me :)
Sweetened condensed coconut milk is a great vegan alternative and it is very easy to find at most US supermarkets now both in the canned/boxed milk area as well as in the "international" area. You can make a really delicious caramel with it as well.
Is the caramel just made by heating it? Or do you add vegan butter/sugar?
@@ticklishpineapples Just like regular sugar-based caramel, you can do just coconut milk but also add sugar, salt, butter, etc. to make it more to your liking. There are lots of varying recipes out there for it. I would say go with the one that seems most similar to a regular caramel you would like.
Sweetened condensed oat milk is pretty good too! I tried condensed coconut recently too but it had separated a bunch and I wasn't a huge fan. The oat is pretty close in texture to dairy 👍
Holy shit, when I heard “let’s get this out on to a tray” I thought no way… could… “nice” and I audibly gasped. New top tier RUclipsr of mine, A+
My favorite local cafe, Speakeasy in Bryant, Arkansas, serves a sweetened condensed milk latte called a Cuban. It's my favorite latte style drink ever. I will be saving this video to try these drinks when I get my espresso machine.
you can get vegan condensed milk in most uk supermarkets (in my experience) if anybody was wondering!
That sneaky little Steve1989 reference just made my day
I got you fam!! I miss your vids on TikTok :) Glad to see you're still doing great.

A lemonade suggestion: you can make a very good lemonade syrup by dissolving lemon oleo saccharum in lemon juice (I like a cup or two of sugar for the zest and juice of 6 lemons), goes great in sparkling water, so I imagine adding some cold brew as well would be fabulous!
just putting this out there, lavender syrup, honey, and stevia tastes just like frootloops! I discovered this in my barista days, I especially liked this flavor concoction with an iced matcha!
I'm learning that I need more fun texture experiences in my coffee life
how nice to find you in my RUclips suggestions :3 I love your videos!
I love this! Such easy ways to make a fancier drink at home on the weekends

When I was in Bali, they had ginger coffee. It’s soo delicious. I bought some pure ground powdered ginger from Amazon and add it to my coffee in the morning with half n half, and every once in a while a little sweetener, but it’s soo good!
I’m Puerto Rican and we love us some coconut. Which also is delicious in coffee! 😉😁
How do you use cocont in coffee?
ooo new kitchen making its debut! congrats on the move, glad to see you're still the same, spilling drinks and plucking cats off the counter lol. thank you for the inspiration~
sorry i’m now learning i’m behind on videos 😂 i’ll have some catching up to do
I'm so here for the cold brew/coffee & lemonade. I work at Starbucks and make myself lemonade with 4 shots of espresso on top. So good! Most baristas I order from are either confused, disgusted, or curious about it. I've converted a few people though. I'll have to try adding honey next time, sounds super good!
Also, I love all of these drink ideas, I will have to try them all!
Have you tried Sprite instead of lemonade? It's also pretty good!
@@kt4047 My first reaction was, that's disgusting. But then I remembered I used to have this lime iced coffee at a café years ago.
Love love love these... Will def try. Thank you so much for sharing!!!
Sweetened condensed oat milk and coconut milk exists! I've seen it in natural food stores or you can buy it online.
10:07 we would indeed miss the cats walking into frame at random, they’re very cute
morgan has a wonderful way of engaging with an audience. gonna try and make a cereal milk latte tomorrow :)

I just found your RUclips channel!!! I am so excited to learn more about coffee drinks!
Maybe you'd like to know that in Spain that sweetened coffee is called "bombón" like marshmellow in spanish.
I’m so glad I stumbled on to this video
Love your content and I can’t wait to try these!
1:40 nice steve1989 reference haha
Thank you for your content!
I try subscribing barista youtubers based on how the introduction goes, she passed the check lmfao. I knew her already on tiktok and this was the 1st video I clicked. She's my roll model as a barista.
