I liked the 12-string but felt like the 6-string was a little too thin. Sounded good, but just needed something heavier/thicker. So maybe a set with electric lead and bass but the 12-string playing the rhythm parts?

Tool is the only reason I play guitar. I've seen them live twice, once in an arena and another outside at a festival, and they put on the most amazing live experiences you could ever imagine. Can only dream that they get to play a venue like the las vegas sphere one day cause they'd be the best concerts of all time

I've seen Tool twice and both times it was a terribly boring performance. The music was good, of course, but their live shows are dull. Lasers and lights were impressive in the 70s and 80s.
Maynard spent the whole time facing the wall. No one moved besides to walk off stage while they left a delay pedal echoing to infinity.

    • @SlyRyFry
      @SlyRyFry 3 месяца назад

@@riot057 Idk they've only been performing that way for 3 decades, it sounds like you went to a Tool show expecting people to t-rex walk across the stage and crowd surf like it's a turnstile show. Both amazing bands and experiences, but it sounds like you're just a cringe zoomer fan. Especially since you didn't know that's how they've been performing since the 90s. That fact alone makes it very easy to ignore any take your tiktok rotted brain could make.

On this leg of the tour, they’ve played the same setlist, but switch out two songs. The second song can either be Jambi or The Pot and the last song can be either Schism or Stinkfist. I think that’s more or less what they do on every tour. I think they added one song at one of the Madison Square Garden shows, but on this current tour, that’s the only time they added a song.

I love Tool. I'm a devout Maynard fan. I first learned of them from Sober. I was a singer in a band. I spent a decade training myself to sound like all my hero's. Maynard, Vedder, Cornell, Staley, and Jim Morrison. I used to do a perfect Maynard James Keenan. My guitar players played the songs, I sang them. I learned guitar late in life after I lost my voice for two years at age 42. I've never sang the same since. I used to be a perfect clone of all my hero's. I was a monster. But even Maynard can't sing like he could when he was 25 anymore. I really appreciate this video. I had no idea you were a Tool fan. I've watched hundreds of your video's over the years. Those new guitars you have sound amazing as all hell.

I got see Tool in October and they were absolutely fantastic !
Maynard said the same thing about filming.
They played Ænema for the final song of the night.

First time I had the privilege was Lollapalooza in 1997. At one one point my brother and I look back from the front barrier and it literally looked like an ocean of bodies churning like waves. From that moment on I try to get to any show when they play nearby. Every show has been an amazing experience.

Saw them in Knoxville in November and again in Nashville this January. When Billy MF Strings came out in Nashville. That was a peak life moment for me.
Crazy to think i could've been in Lexus lounge with Tyler and didn't even notice.

Awesome video Tyler. And amazing guitar playing as always. Yeah the 1st time I saw TOOL was here in Australia at the Festival Hall in Brisbane on the Ænema tour was only a fairly small venue by comparison and you could see the band so clear. They were all painted blue with glowing red dots on them. It was so amazing that I didn't even bother drinking as I was just glued to watching them perform the whole time. They were absolutely flawless. I saw them in later years when the Melvins opened for them. Melvins are just so unbelievably loud. TOOL sounded quiet by comparison however it was still an all round amazing concert. And yes Queens of the Stone Age are another band that absolutely delivers live as TOOL do. I'd have to say those 2 bands could be my 2 favourites live as well. 🤘🇦🇺

They did this at the Winnipeg show as well ! And when I saw Jack White in 2018 he told everyone before the concert no phones and they had a special bag you had to put your phone in during the show that they had to unlock at the end of the night. He said they hired camera men so the audience doesn’t need to be.
I actually kinda love that some bands are doing this. It completely changed the show and you have everyone engaged in the concert and then it’s also cool to see during the “lighter” moments it’s not just a bunch of phone lights but it’s actually people pulling out lighters.

Come to Cottonwood Az and see what else he has up his sleeve. Be great if you did a show at the Old Town Center for the Arts.
Seen this town change quite a bit since 78, ah progress.

I saw Tool back in November with some friends I play in a band with and we heard the same thing about not having our phones out until the very last song, but he did make an exception when they brought Alex Lifeson out to join them for Jambi (which neither of us were expecting, since two of my friend and I are huge Rush fans and Jambi was our singer’s favourite Tool song) but it was still an awesome show since we were also sitting beside someone who had been following Tool since the very beginning of their career and had a lot of cool stories as well
