I haven’t played in months. Been super excited about the new update and DLC, as soon as I went into my house for the first time since turning the game on my favorite villager, Fauna popped in. She screamed about the roaches and said she had to leave. RIP 😭💔

I was literally like watch one of my favorite villagers come over before I can get rid of these roaches lol. Low and behold, i take two steps inside and there’s Fauna right behind me. 🤦🏻♀️ I was so sad lol!

I tried buying a yellow perch from Ketchup at her house and she refused to let me purchase it… but proceeded to tell me an elaborate justification about how when she can’t fall asleep at night she watches “Professor Yellow Perch” swim around the tank with the tank light on and it makes her less anxious… I had no idea, I don’t think I’ll be getting that from her anytime soon! 😂

I'm glad to hear this is a thing. I gave Apple what I thought was a pink & yellow parasol which would go nicely with her decor, but accidentally gave her a dark red & green one. She proudly displayed it & it's driven me bonkers ever since. 😂

The boat tours are only once a day so if you're not big on TT don't just hop on and go straight to the boat, go see blathers first! That's the only way to unlock Brewster. I made this mistake last night and had to wait until this morning to go get him.

@@uncleudders 1. TT means Time Travel. Which is the process of setting your system clock forward to change the date in Animal Crossing games.
2. By updating the game to the 2.0 update for Animal Crossing New Horizons (It came out early)

not gonna lie, isabel announcing who's at your island is pretty awesome
They've added all this cool stuff yet all I've mostly done is walk around in first-person, I honestly can't stop it's like a completely different game somehow and I can't wait till people decorate their islands with it in mind.
Most underrated feature. Spent 3 hours doing it so far.

I went through all the wings in the museum just looking at everything 😂 Weirdly the thing I was most amazed about is seeing the ceilings in rooms. But also all the little details!!!

If you go to the roost on somebody else’s island you can actually get some coffee to go. You get it in a little cup and you can hold it and carry it around like the bubble tea! You can drink it 3 times and each time the little apple thing will fill up. I personally think it’s very cute!
If you go for a few days in a row he will tell you you can get coffee to go. It’s 300 coins.
I found a really cool night time, meteor shower island! And all the rocks spit out star fragments, INCLUDING zodiac fragments!!

I had a star Island and there was loads of different star fragments in the rocks as well as on the beach 🌟

I just had resetti show up out of the blue and I literally screamed cuz he talked about his old job of warning people to not reset
So far Redd has given me ice cream, donuts, apple juice, a fan, & a comic book. Also Kicks is selling swords! Just as a backpack, you cant unsheathe, but it goes great with my fantasy landscape!

I’m fairly sure most of redd’s raffle is stuff you could previously only see villagers holding and variations of them (like the chocolate doughnut or the canned drinks) and I love that they finally gave us those items even if they aren’t all that different from the fireworks festival foods. Also the books are super cool too
Honestly this update has me being like a child on Christmas Eve. I’m not much into TT so I can wait it out, I’ve waited this long lol.

i've also heard that resetti can randomly show up in the roost like other special visitors that are "part of the island" (such as isabelle)

Well Resetti did appear at the roost randomly every other game so I guess they had to keep the tradition going
he showed up while i was doing time travel i was so scared---
That beautiful, beautiful shed, which allows you to put more than one item at a time away in your storage was a pleasant surprise
Nooks cranny also do a sale between the 26th and 30th where everything is marked down 30%
Brewster gives you furniture items, like plants, mugs, and coffee beans. He also allowed me to add pigeon milk to my coffee. I'll update if I find more (see below)
UPDATES:
- Okay, soo... this may just be a coincidence or just a convo piece but NPCs have started saying which coffee type they like. For example, Wilbur loves the dark roast

I have no clue what that would be in Animal Crossing. 🤔 Before the update came out I was thinking about the rug placement by the cash register, and maybe we don’t “work” for Brewster but maybe villagers can request a coffee/drink and we go and place the order with Brewster and deliver it to the villager? I feel like there has to be something a bit more to the cafe for the people who don’t/can’t get the DLC ya know?

Resetti no longer being angry is really nice, he won't traumatize us anymore
I love upsetting him though and him being angry... one time on the game cube I got upset at him yelling at me so I reset the game on him mid sentence a few times and when I decided to stop I heard him out and after or mid way my game cube reset itself...confused I walked out my house again, he popped up, and yelled at me "SEE! HOW DO YOU LIKE IT!!!" . .....THIS MF LMAO

My wii was broken so when it over heatet it just froze and the only way was to turn it off and on again and everytime i startet animal crossing i got yelled at from resetti just to have the wii froze after a min to have reseti to yell at me again then after 3 months of the town i quit it i was really scared of resetti i watched some stuff with my friend from new leaf
I have seen rock filled with star fragments! They are found on the Kapp'n shooting star island, it give you a max amount of 8 star fragments each from a different season!

@@elainewalls1965 I timetravel alot, go on a tour every day and have yet to come across any of the special islands. They must be super rare and it doesn't help we can only go once a day.

@@animefan1047 i’ve only come across one after time traveling through like 2 weeks, just had some new bushes, moss and vines. i went to one that was basic except it had carrots. and that’s it. i expected them to be a new/special one nearly every time but i guess they’re rare :/
Only certain fish gives you recipes and you can't get any DIY recipes from diving except for seaweed and if you repeatedly press B when riding with kapp'n you can skip his singing

When I played, I did not get a recipe when I drove for seaweed. I got a recipe that uses seaweed from an islander crafting inside their home some time afterward.
I had a villager invite me into their house and after a bit of talking, we played high/low card. It was super cute!
I went to leave broccolos house and he got upset til I played with him, I felt so bad

In Photopia, I discovered that you can now put various headwear and eyewear on various NPCs. Now you can see what Brewster’s eyes look like just like with Graham and Eugene.

Tom nook told me at resident services, that future upgrades (i'm on the 4th) are going to be cheaper than before. And moving a villager home did cost 50'000 bells, now it only costs 10'000 :)

I uncovered SO MUCH yesterday, I legitimately cried when I Saw resetti.
Also there’s a couple small things that I noticed (tbh these could’ve been here before the update but idk) but when you investigate a lost item it actually describes what it is, giving u a hint as to who it belongs to. And whenever you click on a villagers/special characters photo it says their bday sign and favorite quote.
I got confused when you said yesterday but I'm like you know not everyone lives in the USA lol it's still Thursday here almost 3pm

Yes, they were there before, but I believe for the "investigate" option, it only gives you a hint if you know the villager that lost it pretty well. Like if it's a book it'll say "only a voracious reader would have something like this" which usually belongs to a normal personality type. Purses usually belong to snooty villagers, etc., at least in my experience.
I also cried when I saw resetti but in a bad way he makes me so angry I hate him grrrrrrr

The previous commenter Sage is right. It's just Katie. So far she's made some "mew" puns, said that coffee tastes funny unless it has a lot of milk in it, and then a prompt about her mom: "I wanna get my mommy a, um... a sew... veneer. But I don't know what I should buy!"
Yeah, I know it stinks that the other special NPCs are just there for either The Roost or Photopia but hey! At least they're _in_ the game. Better than just them being scrapped.
Still, this is mind-blowing. They made The Roost almost pretty much the Smash Ultimate of Animal Crossing. You know, doing the whole "Everyone is Here" thing. Just only a few are missing like Serena and Farley.
Im almost finished with harv's island, I decided to do it first because I heard that Leif unlocks the farming. My next goal is Brewster!

@@roosje2069 Start by talking to blathers, then you need to use Kappin to go to an island and he should be there :D
@@roosje2069 You have to have enough things donated to the museum, idk how much but you need quite a bit, then you can go up to Blathers and he will have a thought bubble, talk to him and he will tell you about Brewster. Finally, go on a Kapp'n trip and Brewster will be there.

If youre on a relatively new island you dont get brewster kappan harv island and basically all of the items or at least that whats happened on my island (also yes i do have the update installed i have thing like the new camera)

Anyone know if nook expansions are still in the code? That was something datamined back during release along with a lot of 2.0 stuff. I really hope we get expansions later on in minor updates.

I hope “major updates” are just updates with new characters because I would love to see new store expansions and maybe even new stores for characters at Harv’s island
Getting the update early was honestly nice. Especially with the disaster I unintentionally inflicted on myself. My Switch Lite froze. But with the warranty, I didn't have to pay for repairs. But when I got it back, it was like I never touched it. I had to restart my Animal Crossing journey over again. So getting the update early just makes things easier. Having a more natural Island again is nice. But it's the hunt for all the fruit trees that's the most difficult.
In absolute tears rn, I share my switch with my brother and there’s not enough space to be able to download the new update. We already deleted a bunch of SS and games that we don’t play. Rlly sad that I won’t be able to play AC anymore or until I can afford to buy more storage but glad that I can watch others. Being able to store DIYS is so cool
Do you have SD cards at your house ? You can use this to get more storage, or to copy some of the saved data to an SD card ☺️ you can also transfer your saved videos and pics from the switch to a PC and then delete them on the switch system. (Oh and Bobs Gang )
If you can save $30 you can pick up a 128GB SD card, that's enough storage for a bunch of games and updates. I highly recommend it, especially if you're sharing a switch, you can buy them online but places like target have them too :)

Some of Tom Nook's prices for moving buildings have changed and it's really helpful! (Moving villager homes is now 10,000 bells instead of 50,000, my wallet thanks this update!)
Resetti complains about his brother yapping all day long yet he did the same too whenever someone resets hah
I like how Don would sometimes show up in place of Resetti in New Leaf. Like "hey ah my brother's blood pressure spiked so he's chilling at home, just don't reset okay?"

I've been playing daily, but today was the first day since over a year on which i started terraforming my island because i can now start a farm. It's very exciting and makes the daily sessions feel more fresh again!

It’s kinda rubbish though because they can only put 1,000 bells at a time. I wish you could select how much to deposit like the ABD.
The Street Lamp with Banners is a petty cool item as you can customize the flags on it, and the transparency does function, so you can shape them however you like.
I love that the app on my actual phone has updated to include new items from nook points, and an island newsletter

One of the things I discovered is that they brought back the possibility to buy furnitures of your inhabitants like in Wild World (kind of). I'm so glad! Like Beau invited me to his house and after talking to him a couple of times he wanted me to buy everything that I wanted in his house!

If you go to Luna in the dream area, you can search a dream island by its name. So that begs the question, *what's the name of your island?*
Oooh, I was wondering if there had been any updates to Luna. I haven't dreamed since the update/dlc dropped because I know there's going to be lots of items I don't want to see yet. Plus even with time traveling it will take a few days for people to get the new/finished look along with the items, in the color wave they want.
Speaking of dreaming, I wish we could get diy's from dreaming. Just one that's random and once a day, perhaps pulling from the diy items used on the islands you visited. But it will always be a _guaranteed_ recipe you do not have. Ideas come to us while we're sleeping too, and if we're lucky, we remember that was when we wake up.
On the 4th level glitch, you can still get up there the same way, but you can't open your phone or pockets once you're there. All the items I had on my 4th levels went to the recycling bin. Cliff trees still work though so there's that.
Yeah! I thought I was the only one!!
That's disheartening. Not that I had much, only one item on a single cliff, but it very much tied a design together.
@@amandaslough125 Yeah it frustrated me more than I thought it would because I was really happy with the aesthetic I had. It just made it worse when I realized they didn't stop us from getting up there, they just took away the ability to do anything once you made it. I would have been happier just having my stuff locked up there.
i was so happy when they released the update early :D I even emptied my whole house and I'm working on new rooms! i literally almost cried when I played the update. Bobs Gang!

Tonight was an epic night. I had to craft me some storages to be place everywhere in my island for convenience sake. Also, I haven't got the art poster yet since my art gallery is not yet done. Sadly we'll never ever get to wave like the snooties and crankies of a certain subtype.

Now this is how you do an update. You can see how huge and lovingly made these Animal Crossing updates are made. Even the paid DLC looks worth buying. Meanwhile, a certain regular cash-grab life sim is still disappointing in their update...
all of this content aside from cooking are things that should have been in the base game and have been in every single animal crossing game since its creation. and even then, there is still tons of missing content like nooks shops upgrades, actual good character dialogue, being able to work at the roost, etc. Not to mention many of the npcs they added back in lost their entire personality (ressetti). This is NOT how you do an update, and I find it ironic that you accuse something else of being a cash grab (i dont know which game you are referring to) when animal crossing new horizons is the definition of a cash grab. They original said there wasn't going to be any paid DLC and they released an unfinished game only to add the rest of the content in "free updates", content that should have been in the base game considering it was under development for 8 years. And even after all the updates, its still a shell of its former games, just with a prettier bow tied around it.
Sorry for coming off as rude, i just hate seeing people defend the bad practices of a greedy company who are notorious for not caring about their customers and no longer provide any innovation to their franchises and the gaming industry as a whole. Nothing against u personally tho.

I was so surprised when the update released early & I have had so much fun ever since that I've completely forgotten that I'm not going to be able to afford the DLC for a while, but it's actually okay because tbh I'm a little overwhelmed with all the new nook items & features, not in a bad way, but I'm plenty satisfied & grateful with all that we have at the moment.
i don't know if it was this update but the newspaper app on the nintendo online app?? its honestly adorable it keeps track of what you've done during the day, and it sometimes has quotes that villagers have said about you and its honestly so heart warming
It is so worth it to take the boat tours daily! It’s been my fave part of the update so far. Though it’s only been two tours I’ve already gotten some cool new things: plumeria bushes, holly bushes (such cute Christmas decor for the island), new diy recipes, glow in the dark moss, climb-able vines you can attach to your own cliffs. And the song he sings also changes (so you don’t have to worry about monotony, at least, not yet anyway). I only wish it wasn’t limited to once a day, but I see it’s a mechanic that keeps you coming back… and it works!
Also, when a villager asks you to deliver a gift for another villager, the villager you are delivering it to will ask you to guess if the item inside is either a clothing or a furniture. If you get it right you get to keep it 😁
That is cute! It has always been in the game tho. I mash and choose the first option they present because I have so many items catalogued already lol

One thing very interesting about fixes is if you placed fencing on your dock (like I did), it'll still be on your dock and slightly alter your "getting on the boat" animation, but it won't softlock you.. and even if it did, you could just call Resetti to rescue you.

Do you need the amiibo for special NPCs to come to the roost? Do we know if they can come randomly too? I'd love to see them, but I don't have special NPC amiibos... I hope they consider a amiibo pack with special NPCs only

In the DLC, you can even make a home for the old NPC's (like resetti, Gracie,...)

a great update. One thing missing that would of been nice is being able to have 20 villagers to a island with 2 living per house (upstairs and downstairs)

Got Katrina on Harv's Island right away. Getting Redd tomorrow. Getting The Roost tomorrow too.
Got a couple of new DIY recipes from bottles, balloons and from fishing.

Im mad about it. Never got to work in the roost and I feel it would have given me a reason to play again. But that's just my preference.
I love that villagers will ask to go to your house now and sometimes just come in with out asking, you can get tons of items from that lol like i just spent a while in my house and basically farmed items lol. make sure u have no cockroaches because it will make your friendship with them worse and we do not want that.
New horizons is the first game of the series that I've played. I was very surprised at kappa singing! It's so bittersweet and comforting (the drawing in the side of the boat is very cute). I'm sure that one day, when I will be in a bad mood, listening to kappa's song will make me cry for no reason at all
Such a small thing, but you can now check your pockets when swimming so you can see how much space you have to catch sea creatures!

One of my favorites parts of this 2.0 update is the pro camera! Taking photos of villagers that don't run off is awesome! Iv taken amazing photos and helps with thumbnails

I like that after buying a few coffees you can then start buying coffee to go by standing by the till. Bought a coffee and later gifted it to Biskit.
Edit: I did I think 3 exercises with villagers and nook posted me a leotard the next day XD
