REALLY wish we could do the easy terraforming on our island as a feature brought over from this.
I know right!
Me too,but I can understand why we can't due to us being to decorate almost our entire island with teraforming
Life would be so much easier
I was looking for this... is the main reason Im not buying the DLC yet lol
i wish we could but unless they separated our island up into small sections similar to the vacation homes it would be impossible.
I love how all the things you unlock later on just motivate you to go back to the previous houses. I only did 3 so far, i want to enjoy the DLC for as long as possible.
Same (I got four done). I never understood the logic of people deliberately rushing through content, then crying that it was "too short", or "too easy", or whatever. The only thing that sucks is my poor Rex is going to be stuck in that craptastic starter house for a bit longer than I had hoped. T_T
i’ve only done three too!! i’m also being kinda picky about what villagers i choose
@Magicaldahlia Haha, I got that villager for my second house (Claude, had to look up his name, oops). Don't worry about "not liking the villagers" though. Someone else confirmed that each plot can hold an unlimited amount of villagers, so you will have a ton of room for your favorites regardless. So get out there and decorate xD
@@catisreckless4647 thats great news! I was super worried and i was really picky about what villager to move in
Wow. So basically, we're literally becoming interior designers because of this game. I better write this on my resume.
I've already completed 40 homes since the DLC dropped AND I got to add an extra wing to the hospital facility. I've been grinding like crazy because designing these homes is so addictive
Blimey ive only done one 😂😂 better get crackin 😓😓😓😱😱😨😰😰🙀😁😁
I know right??? I just can’t stop decorating! It’s great!
@@Laima17683 You get the diy after designing some homes, it's part of the story so if you play you'll get it for sure
Omg whAt that’s crazy !! Impressive
@@AnnaReidCheers thank you!
I was shocked to see Mr Resseti enjoying a coffee at the roost lol
I've been working and not able to play like I want so mines not open yet but this makes me so happy to see.
Same, but he works at the uh !help! Service. It’s like a helicopter app-
I saw Don today!
The Sims has nothing on ACNH lol! I love how massive they made this game, there’s so much to do. I really feel like I’m getting my money’s worth and in love with the game all over again.
Fr i didn’t buy it yet but i had the old one it was fun
I'm new to the series so maybe my opinion doesn't matter in this regard, but I think a Sims-like setup would fit perfectly in Animal Crossing. Meaning we have to actually take care of our villager (eat, wash up, not sure how sleeping could work though). It might be hard to implement, since AC isn't a game where you can fail per se, so instead of having us die from a lack of food or something, maybe it could just slow us down or provide some other minor drawback.
Honestly ya
@Poopy1234 "Our villager." So yes, our avatar...
I thought tbh this game didn't have as much compared to the last entry although I will say this new entry is the king at customization. The last game maybe had more stuff to do and characters (like shrunk, gracie, katie, public works other than prologue stuff, minigames akin to desert island escape, puzzle league, making coffee, island medals.) but in this one if your creative enough you can spend hours messing around even without all the minigames and stuff.
Free update + paid update = another 1000 hours i‘ll invest in this game ahahaha
same here so much more content then i expected
Mori and everyone, be aware that there is a game breaking glitch that happens if you try and upgrade your village homes when the gates are open. Just make sure you keep the gates shut but if you accidentally leave em open, force close the game to prevent the glitch
Good thing mine are perma-closed haha
What happens?
@@PsychedelicKitten your game crashes and every time you try to re load it, the game just keeps crashing so you can never play...... NEVER DO IT MY BROTHER WAS DUMB ENOUGH TO TRY IT...............And thats how i learned about the glitch lol
Good thing I always keep my gates shut. I don’t want to risk destroying my game.
@@Skibiditoiletfan8 Really? Wow. Seems like the only way to get around it is to delete and reinstall. Hopefully Nintendo will fix this soon.
I used to blast through up to a dozen jobs at a time in the original HHD, but now that controls are a little slower and the furniture rewards are limited daily, I’m taking my time more. Excited to unlock these features over the next few weeks tho haha
Maybe it's cause I played it until 6 AM when it released and basically play it nonstop but I already have more than 40 houses 😅
I do just enough houses to get enough Poki to buy the furniture I want each day, which is usually just two, and I find it to be a nice balance. I don't feel like I'm rushing through, but it doesn't feel like a slog either. Pretty good balance, I think, and the rewards are spaced out just right to keep motivated!
It would be nice to expand the size of rooms in your own house.
Yeah, I hate how the side rooms are only 6x6 units.
@@starspeculation you cant pay bills to make them bigger?
@@Starlight_235 after you upgrade your house completely you can’t upgrade any further, other than the storage expansion we just got. :)
I play in french, and when i unlocked the school, Leaf was invited to teach a horticulture class and he talked about hybrids. He explained how you can make hybrid by putting different colors of flowers together, and then he said we could experiment with trees! I didn't think to screenshot it but has anyone had a message like that or seen different fruits?
Also make sure to revisit the houses you've designed at least once, the villager will give you a gift from the decoration you put
Leif also came to my island, after his visit you can plant trees/flowers/etc. outside :)
Also, thanks for the visiting tip!
He was looking for the school on my beach and did the same! I’m so excited to see if/when Redd appears to start adding art to the houses
@Shoka Lgbt i visited them a day later and they gave me something, or they do if you meet them on the beach, but only once so far
I think he mentioned fruit trees because previous to designing school you can't decorate with them not he hybrid flowers. And after his class you unlock this decorating feature
I visited the beach at the top right end and they were all there, when I talked to them they all gave me a gift. 😁 (For those who want to save time I guess..) lol
i flattened the entire upper right part of my island the day of the update (thanks to the convenience of the outdoor storage access) and since i got my hands on this dlc i've been neglecting it hard core 😭 i can't stop designing vacation homes, it's just so fun!!!
Me too! I haven't done anything to my island except plant the vegetables. I can't stop decorating homes! 🤣
Me too except all my villagers are on beaches.
I decided I didn't want to terraform everyone in til I could design the exterior. Oh man I have work to do. Literally x3
I swear to god everyone is using that bear backpack, and hecking adorable
Best backpack ever.
Love bear backpack
I have seen people wear animal backpack in rl including pikachu version. They look cute but not practical.
Best one so far 😂😂❤️
I love it so much 🥺❤
I adore everything that's been added in this version, I only wish we could add different wallpaper to the partitions (or have multiple accent walls) and hang wall items on them too
all i really wanted was more special npcs like brewster and larger inventory slots
I agree, it would be really awesome if we could decorate the partitions, maybe it's another unlockable feature? 🤞
I remember Lobo was my 10th job, he was the 1st island resident I gave the souvenir candy to and learned that this is how you invite them to make a vacation home. There was a celebration after finishing that.
Then I invited Kyle with the candy. His home has CRAZY lighting fixtures & furniture.
Do they move out of your island for good when you make them a Paradise Planning vacation home?
I would like to know too
@@cheshirecat9037 they dont!
@@batWatchMan they don't!
I wish you could somehow invite villagers from the archipelago to your island. That would make this dlc NEXT LEVEL STUFF !!
me too, I'd love to find someone it's hard for me to find on the archipelago like Sasha, Maple, Mitzi, etc and be able to ask them to live on my island with me as well, I think that would be so cute and fun
I never played Happy home designer, but in Happy home paradise *****Spoiler **** you hire animals for things like the school. I REALLY HOPE that in the next main line game they have something similar and make a bigger town with much more shops and buildings and such, it would be great!
Happy home designer was pretty fun. I don’t have happy home paradise tho
@@pinchwich4487 I got and am enjoying it so far!
I played Happy Home Designer tons so I figured it would upgrade in stages the same way, but I LOVE the fact that everything that we do in HHP will also help us in our island back home! I will definitely be spending way too much time decorating houses and shops.
I'm curious tho, can other people visit our buildings too, or just the villager houses?
@@finpin2622 they can visit the buildings too! There's a vacation home visit option and a facility visit option!
@@glitteringgabriel ooh cool :0
As everyone’s first villager is Eloise.
Mine was Olivia
@@CamillaMarieH me too lol

I'm glad for the pay rises, I came across an item for around 80,000 poki which I couldn't afford just yet, so more money per job means I shouldn't miss it next time it appears
After a certain number of jobs wardell let's you buy items on credit if you can't afford them lmao
@@TemBryn Oh, that's awesome, thanks for the info!
Easily one of the best DLC Nintendo has released. It's a separate game inside of a game that eventually ties together
...just don't purchase it through that garage NSO expansion pack. You're getting ripped off at a higher price
Yeah, no one is buying it through that expansion pass. And if they are, then they're too far gone mentally to save, anyway.
If you have friends who also play it makes sense, as you buy the family expansion and share. Works out cheaper if done right. 😉
I have that shitty expansion just because I'm in a family membership (sharing costs) and the manager decided to upgrade, I sticked around because it's still cheaper than normal individual membership
One thing to note...when they say they're giving you more choices for your work uniform, they mean ONLY the "Uniform" category. To unlock more choices for the rest of your outfit, you either have to design a home/facility that has clothing choices, or you have to unlock your catalog.
when or how do you unlock de catalog?
@@paulinahernandezmartinez3470 I wanna say you have to design a certain number of vacation homes before that happens.
@@paulinahernandezmartinez3470 After a bit more play, turns out you have to design a decent number of homes. You'll know you've hit that point when Tom Nook decides to pay the Paradise Planning office a visit.
yeah I agree that the poki raises get a little much. I could stop now and just go on and buy things and I still don't think I would run out. I've already gone through 35 houses and I'm not planning on stopping anytime soon 😂
I just found out the Cafe sells some food items for Poki! Looks like there’s more to buy than just what Wardell offers at the office!
@@adrianbuelna1 indeed! You can also get Cooking DIYs at the restaurant (talk to the head chef) and other fun surprises at the different facilities that you build.
@@adrianbuelna1 Thank you!! Definitely going to have to check that out!
Something we could never say ab nook
Happy Home Paradise is so addicting. I started one home and it took me 2 hours before I finished it lol
Perfectionists will finish HHP next November.
🤣 me playing for 8 hours: doing these houses is so time consuming..
I just want them to each have their perfect dream home!! 🥺🤣
@@co2_os I'm not even close to being a perfectionist, but I legit spent about an hour just staring at the possible options when doing my second home. I think I just take the job title too seriously haha. Like Lottite and Tom Nook will come to my house and beat me up if I don't make the perfect home. (Self-pressure is a thing, yes yes)
@Magicaldahlia Too relatable lol
I can only decorate 3-4 homes before my Switch runs out of battery. That's how long it takes me to do them. lol I wish we had a way of finding a specific thing we wanted like HHD had like a type in thing. A good portion of the time, I'm trying to find specific items.
I just got to ten jobs (I'm a time-traveler animal crossing player at heart.) They throw you a party (in the break room)! 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳 How cool is that?! (Just had to share, because it's so cool and exciting.) Happy designing everyone! Update: I just got to 20 homes and they threw me another party at the restaurant! Yay! 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳
That's awesome 😁
AWESOME! I’m at 40 homes, and each reward is worth it
We can store recipes in our storage now and its such a relief
I’ve done about 13 jobs on happy paradise planning and watching this just made me realize that I was playing my game so much that I dreamt about getting to have roommates in the houses while I was taking a nap earlier 😅
Why is no one talking about the party after 30 houses?! IT'S AMAZING!!! 🤣😍🎉
OK I'm SUPER happy that eventually we get to use our own catalog for items. I thought that my cataloging efforts before the update were fruitless lol
Once you've built the restaurant you can get a recipe from one of the chefs every day.
I'm so disappointed that we can't expand the rooms in our house.
Yeah, they're so small.
Can we expand our villagers houses on our main island? And give them a second floor? I really really really want this to be the case... but I'm used to disappointment haha.
@@catisreckless4647 no we can't
@@Music2Anime Yeah, not surprised. Oh well, guess I'll just give Rex a chocolate so I can build him a deluxe vacation mansion.
I agree, but it totally made my day when Piper came over to visit me In My House!
This feels like the complete version of the game and we’ve just been playing the demo all this time
Hospital patient ward, restaurant private dining, cafe gallery, even more soundscapes, even more polishing effects, Niko’s crafting recipes for several counters and pillars, the ability to special order anything you’ve used in home designs from Wardell. There’s a lot more unlocks that I haven’t seen anyone even touch on!
Thank you so much for clarifying this process, your list was really helpful!
Clicked automatically, also this is really helpful thank you! Have a nice evening
Thank you! Been looking for a walkthrough all day
I just found this, and I loved your run through of the unlockable features. There are, I have found, even more things to unlock, you've probably found that out too. I. Love. paradise Planning. I'm totally blind, so I play Animal Crossing for two hours every day with a sighted friend who describes things and plays for me while I kind of direct, it works very well. So I get two hours a day, and I love getting through seeing to everything on my own island and then, instead of trying to find something to do with the rest of my time, being able to fly off to paradise Planning and built vacation homes. It's a great outlet for creativity, it's also not difficult because you get lots of helpful suggestions, and I love seeing the animals smiling and happy once I've built their dream home for them. Also some of the things they want are a bit strange, which makes you really have to think outside the box. I also love the fact that you can fly from your island, which is covered in snow, blowing a gale, horrible weather, and arrive on the HHA island to find it's perpetual summer! Really uplifts the spirit I find. Sorry for the novel! Lol!
I've only got 2 houses done and this video is going to help me with goals so i can max stuff out.
Omg I was just looking this stuff up and then I saw this video got uploaded LOL perfect timing!
I wasn’t going to buy the dlc, but I’m sold simply on being able to eventually actually change my residents island houses…. Guess it’s time to level and terraform the whole damn island again
I did 5 already but now you are making me want more to get to partition :D
I enjoyed my DJ KK party. I even danced with a Dodo. So you know I'm so ready to redo some of my island villager's houses. Especially Merry, her house is just not her. I'm totally making it girly and pink and special for her.
Helpful. Thx 👌🏻
Just what i was looking for. Thanks.
I work 12 hour shifts on the weekends so I’ve only had a few minutes here and there to play so I am READY for Monday morning I think I’ll be grinding all day. Thank you now I know what to expect things to be adddded into the game
Happy Home Paradise has been an amazing addition to the game!! I'm so excited to redecorate some of my villagers homes!! 😄
Awesome, Happy Home Paradise is full of things to do!
POKI ☺️ Thank you for all the info
Thank you! I have been struggling to remember all the little things from Nintendo Direct so this is going to help me and my 9 year old daughter haha! ❤️
Does anyone know if we have new fall recipes? I found an acorn rug recipe yesterday and i don't remember that being part of last years fall diy set 🤔
Yeah I’ve found acorn rug and Maple leaf rug on fall themed Kappn islands 😄 I think they are new
Yeah me too I got the acorn rug yesterday
I wonder how many know ones there are, I haven't found anything online about them 😕
@@blooromo23 me either, I've tired to find them online too but couldn't find anything I know there are new DIY recipes for the vine's that you can get on the mysterious island tour or the Happy Home Paradise
I got the acorn rug. New DYI!
The DLC looks amazing but I want to hold off on it so I can catch up on the final update so it feels like a new update when I buy it
I love that we have to grind through it tbh so I don't blow through the content after only a couple days playing and then go back to normal
The Themes really challenge you to be creative. If there weren't themes for the villagers idk how into it I would be but I'm addicted!
You forgot about the K.K. event that happens once you reach 30 homes. You also unlock a bunch of new reactions
I don't mind some grind on that end. I wish there was an easier way to convert Poki to bells, though. I have plenty of bells, but with 2.0 there is plenty to spend them on and it would just be a nice QOL thing.
I got an item in the mail today on my main resident. From Wendel, a paradise planning rug for doing 10+ homes.
And, my other two residents got to go to work too (because I bought the dlc I think) so I'm focusing on them so I can get the upgrades for them in case that gets patched out.
Unfortunately, I was told I can't expand rooms in my home (shame, I was hoping to make the smaller rooms bigger lol) but hopefully we might be able to do that with the villagers homes, even do the 2hd floors.
Everyone on your primary Switch can play your games and DLC - it's intended
@@mockingjay478 hope it stays that way lol.
I got a special paradise planning custom phone case for 20 homes, and once 30 homes are done, they sent me a hammock.
I just finished 40 homes last night, so I'm wondering what's in the mailbox this morning lol
I'm so addicted to this game however, I get super anxious having the client watching my every move and me watching, waiting for a reaction of when I place items down.
I think it's cute to see them standing around so patiently waiting for us to finish. Though I start to feel bad if I'm an hour+ in and barely 1/4th of the way done haha.
@@catisreckless4647 oh yeah me too
thank you
So a few that we're missing are the patient ward for the hospital. And the cafe gets an art gallery! :> You also missed the weekly party event. I think that's at 30 or 40 houses.
I was able to access all the clothing you talked about at 2:22 before decorating any homes
I am loving this!!!!
Thanks for this video. Can we have one about gyroids and the new crops? Haven't been able to find any yet.
I fine the vacation home designer DLC to be oddly addictive. I love it.
I haven’t gotten the DLC yet. But this will be so helpful for when I do, can’t wait!
currently listening to this while working on a vacation home.
I don't think the 15k pokis is crazy, since after a while you unlock the ability to buy furniture you unlocked in HHP from Wardell, as with Nook Shopping. It goes down fast.
Another fun thing for people who have the DLC- If you gift the souviner chocolates you can buy in the main building to your villagers on the home island, you can invite them to come with you to the happy homes island, and even make a vacation home for them if you say you want to work.
I think my only question at this point about this is if you're able to rotate villagers out, or if once you place a villager in a plot, if they're there forever.
I assume they will stay until you decide to make a new vacation home in their place but I don’t know
an infinite number of villagers can use the same spot, they all get their own instance, just like in Happy Home Designer for the 3DS
@@ArceusDX Thanks, that's how the game seemingly explained it, but I was unsure and too scared to try it, lest I accidentally kicked Stu from the house I had just made for him haha.
@@ArceusDX but then that begs the question, what happens when you give every villager in the game a home?
You can also get various goodies from the facilities you build! You can get DIYs from the school, buy food from the café, get recipes from the restaurant, buy clothes from the shop, and get free uniforms from the hospital(which is the most meh of the bunch imo)
Awesome info, thanks!
you can get shrubs from the school too,, i haven't gotten the DIYs from it yet
Poki!
I hope we can work at the roost at some point ;(
If you can invite your own villagers from your own island to have a vacation home, if they ask to move out will they leave their vacation home? I have some “rare” villagers but I don’t really think they match my island’s aesthetic but I don’t have the heart to kick them out
I already made 24 houses!
O.O
Wait so I have do 9 more houses just to give Flick and C.J. their honeymoon suit vacation!?😐 Definitely worth it, HANG ON BOYS IMMA COMING!😂
"Partners" doesn't automatically mean "dating".
@@catisreckless4647 shhhhhh, let us have this
@@josereyesbonilla4004 It's not healthy to try and force your ideals onto others, but I'm not surprised in the slightest. This generation continues to disappoint. Have a nice day, enjoy the game.
@@catisreckless4647 As a mature woman, I found this hilarious.. Same sex relationships are as old as time itself, how do you define which generation exactly?

Hey^^ when do you unlock the coubtrr DIY? I have around 15 houses decorated and I am desperately waiting for them 🙈
Try talking to the employees at all the facilities. They each do something fun. For example, the head chef at the restaurant will give you a Cooking DIY.
I haven’t played for a year and I’m so confused but excited
I mean, I don't mind because then I can kinda give my villagers a very needed awesome home look if their basic New Horizons home don't quite cut it. I want it to feel Home-y for both the player and villager.
When do you unlock counters?
I have some great news about happy home paradise The previous bug lover Nat came to the archipelago to learn in school
Hey^^ when do you get the counter diy? I have build about 15 Homes now and I am desperately waiting for them
^^; I've been playing the HHP DLC for two days straight and I already unlocked the Pillars and Island Counters DIY.
If you give your villagers Souvenir Chocolate, there’s an option to invite them to the island where the Happy Home Paradise building is.
Thank you! Is there a max number of homes you can make?
I think I remember hearing the number 48
This was so helpful! Thank you!!
Also, I'm mad I can't use my dog nose for my uniform 😤 why can I use every other animal nose but not the dog nose?! 😡😡😡😡
I’m only doing a few a day. Think I have only done 7 so far. I’m in no rush
Can you please make a video about Customizing villagers homes on your own island? It would be great to find out what all is available to do as well as how to unlock it.
How do we buy all the items from the DLC to use on our main islands? I'm sure I saw something about wardell having a full catalogue that we can purchase from but no idea when we can unlock that
Whoa like a real job! Yippee!
I had fun so far
You can give your villagers the souvenir chocolates and they say they would love to visit the island 🏝 you can take them straight away and do them there vacation home! I had not done 5 homes at this point! 😬 happy gaming!!!
On my island I turned Gonzo's house into a hospital room. It is originally a log cabin.
Being the type of kid who grew up glued to his Legos for literally hours at a time, I consider myself to be pretty creative. I like how my houses wind up, maybe my design choices are on the "safe" side, but I always get everything looking nice and aesthetically pleasing. But for some reason I constantly draw blanks when trying to design the yards. Like, the villager will get a random tree, some weak pathing, and maybe a flower or two. Any tips for outside design? Every time I think I have a cool idea, after I put down a few items, I immediately go "nah", and abandon it.
Try themeing it with the occupants personality. Athletic? Have there be outdoor sports stuff, like a soccer ball and goal posts. Into nature? Try having really nice flower coordination, like red roses in the shape of a heart. Lazy? Lounge items that fit the season/location. Beach could have a pool, and hammock with a coconut drink and the fruity dish item (not sure if that's the name- i just call it that cuz it has all the fruits). Also, when using flora (or fauna- occupants having pets helps give them more personality) try to do similar matching (and with flora maybe even do some color coordinating with the occupant). I hope this helps. 😊
@@katlyncoker8488 It was helpful, thanks.
@@catisreckless4647 Your welcome.😊
I unlocked everything within 3 hours. I like that the DLC doesn't make you stop playing if you wanna design 50 houses in an afternoon
im gonna try to get the dlc soon
I don’t know how many hours do you have to do but along the way you also unlock a parallel shop like a clothing shop
If we gift our home islanders the items they unlock at the HHP, will we get better friendship?
When do you get access to Pillars and Counters? Along with partitions, I think these will be really useful for decorating!
i think ur 9th villager is when u get partitions! i cant remember for the counters and pillars, maybe around ur 12th? i cant remember
