- In this quick video i disassembly a brand new Acer Extensa 15 series laptop / notebook from 2020. ( Model in this video: NX.EFZEG.00A (EX215-51-54L4) . Its similar to the EX215-52 Series.
I upgrade the ram to 16GB for my customer.
You can see also that the CPU is fixed on the motherboard / mainboard. You cant change the processor.
I show you:
- how you - can find and replace the battery, upgrade the memory ram (up to 32GB with 8, 16 or 32GB DDR4 2666V RAM SO DIMM)
- how you can find the system ssd (in this model a 512 GB NVME SSD m.2
- replacement of the battery (in this model: AP16M5J 4810mAh 37Wh)
- fan cooler cleaning and replacement in this model: DFS541105FC0T
- replace the touchpad
- the dc-jack
- find the second 2,5" inch case for a second SSD/HDD solid state disc
to upgrade with a second harddisc
- finding the bios battery (CR2032)

i have acer extensa ex215-51g-550a with 4gb onboard ram. and i install 16gb ram into available ram slot. so i have 20gb ram installed and it works fine.
how come?

You can upgrade to ssd as already PCI slot is available hence no need to remove the already 1 TB HDD. OS will be loaded in nVme m2 PCI slot SSD and other normal file can be saved in that 1 TB HDD.

What sucks is that it has single ram slot, so in case something goes bad with ram slot, I could've been able to just use the other one.
Mine has 4gb ram and nothing is in the ram slot

hello I have a computer practically the same as ex215-21-49jc but I can't install any linux. all do not detect the hard drive which is HP SN520 NVMe. Can you help me find a solution? W10 works but it is very slow

Apparently 2, one on top side and one empty on the bottom side. According the specification the total max is 12 GB.
Yes I have a laptop exactly like this and I would suggest that it is durable

How many RAM slots does this laptop have? On task manager it said it had two but when I opened it up I couldn’t find the second one

@@ballistix07 nah it has 1 I ended up putting 16 gigs inside it and there was no second slot

how about instead of 16gb, installing 32gb ram ?
u can only change the ram modles that are compatible if they make the laptop with a 32 gb ram version yes you can if they dont u cant upgrade it also not by ur self. It caused bios issues and a custom bios is hard to code
This laptop have a single ram channel.You dont upgrade to 32 gb.Maximum ram capacity 16 gb.
Specification says max 12GB DDR4, so adding 8GB to to already present 8GB is not useful. The bios reports 16GB in this demonstration, but I wonder if the upper 4 GB is really used by the processor. Why use the machine with one DDR4 stick if you can increase cal ulation and graphical speed when using 2 memory sticks.
