My paving guys didn't do half those steps. He broomed in the Techniseal sand and sprayed it with water. I asked him why they don't use a compactor and he said that it wasn't necessary. It also started to pour rain immediately after they finished. Let's hope it lasts.
I just did my own patio and it settled 1/2" - 1" in some places when I ran the compactor over it. I would not be happy if a contractor skipped that step
