- Alcohol inks are a very versatile product for non porous surfaces. To blend and mix colours you can use Blending Solution or Isopropyl Alcohol, but what is the difference and when do you use which one? In this video I show the difference between the two solutions and how they affect the blending, movement and mixing of colours.

Thank you for a very clear answer to that question! Exactly what I wanted to know.
so glad that my video was helpful, thanx for watching!
Thank you for the demonstration. Very informative and a great comparison.
Thanx for watching. Glad you found it helpful
Absolutely brilliant....ive only just discovered you...👏👏👏
Thanx for watching ❤️ delighted that you enjoy my content😊
Great info, thanks! What percentage of alcohol did you use? Here in the U.S. the usual type readily available at a pharmacy is 70% or less, but I know some artists use 99%.
Thanks so much for watching. Glad it was helpful. I used 90%, the lower % alcohol tends to make the alcohol inks a bit sticky sometimes (also depends on the substrate)
Hi, fabulous context. Thanks so much! Question: can you please tell me which airbrush you’re using?
Thanks for watching, I have an Iwata Revolution airbrush and a small inexpensive portable Aircraft compressor. Hope that helps
Perfect, thanks so much!
Hi, quick question. Is rubbing alcohol that has Isopropyl create the same effect as isopropyl or not?
From what I understand, rubbing alcohol has a lower percentage alcohol (around 70%) while isopropyl has 90% alcohol. The lower % would just take longer to dry and tends to make the inks sticky. Thanx for watching
@@theresacreativestudio thanks for the response:)
How to fix your work with alcohol ink and Isopropyl Alcohol? You showed that your second paper with Alloy releases ink if you rub on it.
There is a spray varnish that can be applied over alcohol ink, I have forgotten the name. I don’t use it as all my projects are in art journals or scrapbooks and I dont need it to be sealed as those projects will not come in contact with solvents.
If however you make something like a mug or coaster you will need to seal it. A quick search on YT should help you find the product.
Thanx for watching ❤️
